No one was safe. No one could be trusted. No one could escape.

A school with barred windows, being taught what and how to think. Living in a world set in stone.

We chose to break it. Break the stone. Break the rules; save ourselves.

Trust goes a long way, even if we betray one another, the fear of being alone sinks in -- we don't care. Keep your friends close but enemies closer: each others warmth is all we need right now.

How far do we need to sink to swim t the surface?

Prologue
Blood. That was all the girl could see. She balled her fists together, rubbing her eyes, praying that the next time she opened them her sight would be clear. They were not.  She could feel the blood dripping down her head, slowly, painfully, flowing down covering her eyes with their venomous colour. Her head throbbed as her wound cried more with each passing second. Her eyes looked down at her hands. Hands that hoped to wipe away the cursed blood she saw. To wipe away the blood that was still smeared on them. Blood she still saw.  “Oh little birdy, come out and play.” Scraping of metal against wood could be heard as the sinister voice of her captor inched closer and closer to where she hid. The sounds of her manic laughter mixed with the buzz of the chainsaw as it snarled - chipping away the life of whatever it touched.  “Come out little birdy, wherever you are,” she bellowed, her head thrown back as she laughed, the chainsaw flinging about aimlessly as she lost herself to Madness.  With shaking hands, she gripped the sleeves of the souls the Chainsaw had taken, pulling them with her further into the darkness. To safety.  She choked out their names through the pain and trembling lips, her hand skimming over their wounds, their closed eyes, their frozen heart.  The buzzing stopped. The girl’s grip tightened on the people she surrounded herself with. Begrudgingly she welcomed the sight of darkness as her eyes shut, tightly, welcoming the colour she abhorred to greet her sight. She felt more of it drip down her face joining the large pool of despair it formed by her feet. A Piercing remainder of the pain and bloodshed.  Her free hand bunched up her battered clothes, willingly herself to calm her breathing. To stay quiet.  SIlence. That’s all she heard. Silence was the unwelcome visitor in her own personal hell.  Her heart thumped loudly in her ears, faster and faster - “I found you.” Silence fled.
