“Hey, lady, we have arrived. 5 dollars please.” Getting no response, the driver turned around to stare at the young girl who was gazing at the pharmacy. He added unpleasantly, “Lady, are you expecting me to drive you to the pharmacy?” “Sorry, what?” Jane Collins looked at the driver. Noticing the driver was irritated, Jane felt embarrassed. She grabbed her purse and paid the taxi fee. “Sorry…” Jane walked out of the car and bowed. “Waste my time!” The driver murmured and drove away. Los Gales was located in the northwest area. Usually, it turned to be cold in October. And now, on a snowy day in December, it was bitterly cold. Although Jane wore a down coat, she still felt chilly.  Looking at the sign of Browns Pharmacy, Jane felt rather awkward about the thing she was going to do. However, the cold outside forced her to walk in. Putting on her mask, she lowered her head and ran into the pharmacy. The girl standing beside the check-out counter smiled at Jane. “Morning, what can I do for you?” Jane was more embarrassed. She hesitated and forced herself to calm down. “I can manage it. Thank you so much.” After saying that, Jane quickened her steps and went to the shelf. Jane took a deep breath and murmured, “Why should I come here and buy such a thing? I should have called Mandy. After all, she is more experienced. This is so embarrassing. God! Where is the pregnancy test kit?” Jane bowed and searched carefully. Suddenly, her phone rang. “Vivian, I am already in the pharmacy. Don’t rush me,” Jane answered immediately. “Well, it’s okay. Take your time,” Vivian White smiled and continued, “I just want to tell you that it is cold outside. Ah! And you must be very careful and not to be caught by those Paparazzi.” “I understand,” Jane smiled. Thinking of what Vivian had told her, she couldn’t help complaining, “Why didn’t you do the protection job when you slept with that man?” “I love him! And we all want a child,” Vivian giggled. She paused awhile and added, “You will like him too. Come back earlier, I have a surprise for you!” Jane sighed. Seeing the thing she wanted on the shelf, Jane was elated. She said, “I’ll talk to you later. Bye.” Jane reached out her hand. And then she touched someone’s hand. Both Jane and the man beside her were surprised. “Pregnancy test kit?”  Jane heard a deep voice above her head. She could tell that the man was making fun of her. The man took one kit from the shelf and gave it to Jane. “You’re welcome.” What? Jane was frozen with shock. She seized the kit and didn’t know how to react. This man must be mocking her! Jane was unpleasant and turned around to stare at the man. The man was rather tall. Wearing a black down coat, the man also covered himself with a hat and a mask. Though she couldn’t see his face, Jane could tell that this man must be handsome and charming. Looking at the man’s eyes, Jane felt her heartbeats quickened. She looked down and shook the thing in her hand like a frozen robot. “This is not for me… I…” I buy it for my best friend… Jane finished her words in her mind. “Miss, you don’t have to explain,” the man glanced at Jane and uttered with a cold voice. He reached out his big hands and grabbed a box of Okamoto from the shelf.  Holding the pregnancy test kit, Jane followed the man to the check-out counter. “30 dollars please.” “What? I just need this one… It shouldn’t take…” Jane pointed at the pregnancy test kit shily. She remembered its price was about 6 dollars. The cashier looked at Jane and the man and added, “You don’t pay these all? I saw you two stand there and chat. Don’t tell me that you don’t know each other.” “Yes! I don’t know him!” Jane denied at once. The cashier winked at Jane and smiled. She had worked in this pharmacy for a while. She had seen all kinds of couples. And now, this young girl and the tall man was just one of those couples who might just quarrel with each other. She knew what was going on here.     Jane was speechless. She paid the bill without hesitation and just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. She turned around and bumped into the man. Things in Jane’s and the man’s hands all fell onto the ground. When does this man stand here? Jane wanted to complain. But this situation was so awkward that she only wanted to run away. She picked up her things in a rush and then pulled her hat lower to cover her face. And then she ran to the door of the pharmacy as if there was a beast chasing after her. The cashier saw Jane’s action. She turned to the man holding a box of condoms with a cold look and uttered kindly, “Well, you should take care of her even though you quarreled. Control yourself.” Boom! Hearing what the cashier said, Jane who just ran to the door banged on the door. She rubbed her forehead and felt extremely embarrassed. I told you I don’t know him! Seeing Jane’s clumsy reaction and the banged door, the man who wore a cold face since he walked into the pharmacy finally smiled slightly. Taking a taxi, Jane arrived at Moon Heart Apartment. Her best friend, Vivian White was arranged to live here by their company. They chose here because such a high-standard community could protect their private life from those paparazzi. Only Jane knew Vivian lived here and she had a key which was given by Vivian. Taking the elevator, Jane took out the key and opened the door. Hearing the door opened, a sexy girl who wore a silk robe ran out. It was hard to tell her expressions as she was wearing a facial mask. The sexy girl looked at Jane and asked gently, “Jane, is it cold outside?” “Of course, my dear Vivian White. It is snowing. What do you think the weather would be?” Jane felt her words were funny. She took out the pregnancy test kit and sighed. “Go. To be honest, I don’t think it is good for you to have a child now.” After all, Vivian just won a prize for actress last year. She could have a bright future this year. If now, she was caught be pregnant, her career must be influenced.
