Warrior Princess

Let me guess, you think you know all about werewolves, vampires, witches, mermaid and all things supernatural right? Your probably wrong. Although werewolves and vampires are natural enemies, we do not seak each other out to fight. Normally we just stay away from each other. Messing with witches will get you killed, either by them or when your Alpha finds out. Their magic is not something to be played around with. Mermaids are not actually real. I think. At least I have never met one. My name is Leah and I am a werewolf. I am a part of the Blue Moon pack. My father's pack originally came from the island of Hawaii, strange right? My mothers pack originally came from the frozen mountains of Alaska. Now, our pack resided in the Montana mountains. I live with my mom, dad and 3 older brothers. My dad is about 6'4 with dirty blonde hair and ice blue eyes like mine. My mom is tall, about 5' 10 and has long blonde hair and green eyes. Owen is the oldest and he is 8 years older than me. He is tall about 6'6 and has dark blonde hair and our moms eyes. He is smart and strong, he's a logical thinker and has a plan for everything. Next is Jacob who is 6 years older than me. He is also almost 6' 6 and dark, dirty blonde hair. Honestly he looks like a bear. We always call him a werebear because he is huge. We also joke that he is all brawn and no brain. But he is a teddy bear. Last is Kodiak. He is 4 years older than me with the same hair as my mom. He is about 6'4 and he is all brain. All the boys have moms green eyes. Owen and Jake live in the pack with us and Kody is away at college. Werewolves don't typically go to college but Kody wants to become a doctor and come back to the pack. It is hard with him away because we are a really close family. Last for the Ripp family is me. Leah Ripp. Mom was older when she got pregnant with me and after 3 boys they had given up on having a girl. I guess my dad prayed hard enough to the Moon Goddess because mom found out about me and I came out looking like the spitting image of my mother, except for my ice blue eyes. He always wanted a princess that looked just like his mate and finally I came. One thing you probably did know about werewolves is that we have to find out mate through what it called a mate bond. We feel this invisible string pulling us to our mates when we are near them. Guys feel different about the mate bond than girls, or so I am told. We don't drop everything and just want to start mating in front of everyone, but there is an unbreakable attraction. Also the need to protect each other and be with each other is there also but guys feel a stronger need to protect their mate. We can't find our mate until we turn 17. Don't get me wrong, everyone says that once you find your mate, you only want to be with them. They say that you finally find a peice of your soul that you didn't know was missing. Your mate becomes your best friend and the person you can confide in. Wolves are most affected by your mate because they are soul mates. Your mate makes you stronger in many ways and you can feel everything about them, emotions, thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, you also feel when your mate has been unfaithful. I hear it's like taking an arrow to your heart. You can, for whatever reason, reject your mate also. Wolves that reject their mate do not typically live long though. I cant image trying to live without part of your soul. Occasionally you can find a second chance mate but I have never met anyone with a second chance mate. At age 13 is when we first get to meet our wolf. That is when we first shift and begin our training. This is when you decide who you want to be in the pack. You can work hard and move up, or can decide fighting isn't your first priority and move down. Women and elderly who cannot fight in times of war help the pack in other ways by helping the wounded, caring for children or making meals. The blue moon pack is strong. We are not the biggest pack, or the strongest, but our Alpha is one of the strongest and comes from a long line of strong alphas. Our Alpha is respected and we have alliances with many other packs around our area and in the United States. Our beta also comes from a strong line of wolves and the two make an unstoppable and pretty unique pair. My wolf is named Akita. I call her Kiki most the time and so do my friends. I first shifted when I was 12. It's not uncommon to shift early but when you do it means you have a powerful wolf. Kiki is a huge wolf. She is bigger than most males wolves and has silvery white fur with ice blue eyes. My father mentioned once, soon after my first shift, that he had never seen a wolf so pure in color before. She is strong willed, sassy and demands attention when she's present. She is also thrilled about finding our mate soon. She talks about it often. It is something we fight about often. I am not excited about finding my mate. I want to be a warrior in my pack. I am strong and I want to protect my people. This is something that my family and I argue about all the time. They don't want me on the front lines but they also cannot stop me. My three older brothers have always wanted to protect me. I guess it comes with the territory of being the baby sister. But because of my stubbornness I am allowed to train and work with all the other warriors in our pack. I can only pray to the Moon Goddess that if I find my mate, he is in our pack. I don't know what would kill me quicker, leaving my family or rejecting my mate. Did I mention that I'm the alphas sister?
