Wolf and I

-Good day everyone, my name is Lenna and I am currently 26 years old. Yeah, I know what you might be thinking straight off the bat, I´m way too old already and so totally out of touch with your current teenager suffering hearts that I would never understand what you guys are going through- she rolled her eyes at the class as she opened with such a line, some kids were already snickering in delight and she smiled with a gentle smile. -I will be your professor for the next 5 months and I´m supposed to teach you guys about human and werewolf relationship protocols so that you do not end messing up the moment you set foot in the universities and companies you will go to when you manage to graduate from Howling Heights High School- -Will you teach us about, you know, how to deal with the human girls?- sniggered a guy with the build of an athlete and the muscles to show for it, he made some girl silouethe forms in the air with his hands and a couple- -None of that, do I really need to teach you about s*x? Really? You guys are 17 already and hello, there are books and the net to teach you about the phisycal aspect of it- the girls joined on the smiles and the dirty glances. -I have to teach you about stuff like rejection, boundaries, friendships, the workplace...-Lenna made shuddering gestures- You think highschool is bad? Wait until you have to deal with backstabbing coworkers and you will know what adult hell looks like. -So it is all touchy feely stuff?- asked one of the guys, a very sensible looking one. -No, and dont even think of ditching this class-she warned- Some of my material covers stuff like what to do and not do during your first job interview, during your first company trip, what not to say at the banks when you have to deal with setting yourselves financially- -My father and mother have been teaching me about werewolf ethiquete for a long time now, and I´m just waiting to be 18 to see who is my mate and get settled in this same town-said a girl with beautiful red hair and an air of total self control that you would expect on a down to earth 30 year old person. Lenna sighed. This was her second year teaching that subject at the senior year at Howling Heights Highschool but already she saw that maybe people would say very similar stuff till the end of time everytime they felt like they did not need to stay for the subject. Specially those kids that thought they had stuff figured out already and their lives were pretty much set on a fixed path. -When I was 17 like you, I thought my life was going to develop on a certain way-she began with patience.-I would become 18 and my mate was going to reveal itself, we would become a couple and maybe start our adult life together, grow up, go to the same university and conquer the world. Turns out, the moment I became 18 and my mate knew who I was, he rejected me... Cue the collective gasps and concerned looks. Lenna stood in the middle of the board space, looked at every single of the 14 kids faces that now watched her intently. And then she smiled her best bitchy smile and said looking at the kids in the eye. -I´m not going to lie to you kids, the moment he severed our bond, it hurt and burned, like my chest was thrown into a deep frier and made into tender chicken nuggets- The girls shuddered visibly and Lenna saw that she had now all their attention- At that moment, I faced 2 choices, first one, cry a river and feel like trash, condenm myself because I was not whatever that jerk thought he wanted in a mate. I took the second choice and said "Fine, f**k you, you are not the only wolf there is in this world, I too reject you"- The guys in the room looked at her like they were seeing a ghost, she was reliving one of the worst moments a wolf could go through, some said that it hurt even worst than being wounded with silver stuff but proffesor Lenna was saying all that with an absolute poker smile. -First lesson my dear kids, you are wolves, strong and resilient, you can walk this Earth with 2 different skins and fight to the death with just your claws and fangs. Be wolves, be strong every single day of your life and never forget that even people you might trust are out to hurt you. This is a harsh world and we can only give up or keep fighting.
