Chapter 3

485 Words
The sauce was no longer a shade of black, it was something else something I had never seen before. I don’t know how long I stared at the sauce before I heard someone ask “you see it too?” I looked up at the woman in front of me, I was still in a daze “you see it don’t you” her smile was gone and she was looking at the sauce. She smiled at me and told me her name was Sarah “I’m Jack” was all I could muster out before I continued making the pizza. “Nice to meet you Jack” I looked up and smiled at her “nice to meet you to”. I put the pizza in the oven and set the timer; my manager pulled me over and asked me if I was okay I pointed towards the sauce “the sauce, its different” I stumbled. He smiled a smile that I never see unless his wife is around “you’re seeing colors my boy” “colors?” I asked out of sheer confusion. He patted me on the back “you’ve met her” he told me “met who” I was still dumb “your soul mate my boy, now go, talk to her before she leaves” he pushed me towards the counter urging me to talk to her. He took the pizza out of the oven, sliced it and boxed it while I worked up the courage to talk to Sarah, he handed me the pizza and I called out the name on the ticket. Sarah came to the counter, I had to swallow my fear and ask her out “So Sarah, I was wondering if maybe you would want to go on a date with me” I was such an i***t, I had no idea how to ask out a girl I thought for sure she was going to say no, I was shocked and excited when I saw her smile then she said yes. That was the day I met the love of my life, my beautiful Sarah. We went out for a coffee that night and we dated ever since, even all through university, she was going to the same university to be a veterinarian. After we both graduated she got a job working in an animal hospital, I told her I was proud of her, it took me a few weeks but I finally got a job working at a small law firm just outside of the city. We finally moved in together and we were married a year later, I didn’t know what I would do without her, my life was nothing without her my world was literally black and white before she stepped into it. So know hopefully you understand what I was saying at the beginning about me not being color blind, I just needed to right person to brighten up my life. But don’t leave just yet, my story isn’t over.
