chapter fifteen: peace or war

i walked around the garden with Leon behind me. i needed some fresh air after finishing up my princess duties. it has been three months since we've told our parents and now i have a semi-big belly. i saw the doctor once a week and he told me i was doing fine. i gain some weight but most likely I'll be back to my original weight after i give birth at least that's what the doctor says my luna body will not let me gain weight even if i wanted too. all i will gain is just baby weight at the best. i was guarding my belly as i walked to the small pond with a bench nearby it. 

"tell me when your tired luna, i don't want to alpha to worry about you too much. also, we should get back to the house soon. don't want a member of the red pack to see your pregnant anytime soon." Leon said and he leans in whispering loudly in my ear. i smiled and nodded. i sighed and sat down on the bench. i was feeling tired of course, my work was cut in half of course since I'll be tied most of the time. Leon sat next to me and kept his hands on his lap. he knows he'll be in big trouble if he touches me.  

"give me five more minutes, i hate staying inside and i need fresh air. I'm sure you feel the same, lucky for you, you get to run around the forest freely. i can't transform into a wolf." i say and Leon chuckled. he looked into the lake, i sighed looking at my belly. it has been a journey and I'm used to my new schedule. the prince went easy for his duties and make time for me in the morning and at night before we go to sleep. 

"you can't transform? maybe later after the baby you can, your body is just holding it back for now. let go back inside luna. the prince is telling me its time for you to go inside." Leon said and he got up from his seat. i sighed and got up from my seat slowly. Leon waited for me and we walked together back into the house. i guess the prince talked to the prince in his head. i looked up and saw the prince looking down at us from his study. his study has a direct view of the garden i looked back down as one and i made it back to the doors and Leon held it open for me. 

"you know i don't like how you were close to my luna. i just appreciate that you knew not to touch her. thank you for that." the prince says all sudden as he showed up in front of me. i jumped but i was in the prince's arms as he put his arms around my shoulders. Leon closed the back door and he stood straight as he sighed. i shook my head to this, here we go again. i know before many pack members including kyle and ian asked to touch my belly which i don't mind but the prince told them not to touch me. 

"sorry alpha, i wanted to make sure luna didn't pass out. she had a long day after all." Leon said which is true. i usually nap in the middle of my duties but today i couldn't. the prince knew this too. the prince sghed and he removed his arms from around me and grabbed my hand gently. 

"thank you for that, you can take your break till tomorrow. kyle will take over. looks like you need to rest yourself." the prince said and looked at Leon who nodded. i looked up to see kyle waiting at the stairs already. he looked more rested then Leon that for sure. the prince pulled me towards the stair where kyle was as Leon went down a hallway to his room. "you need to rest princess, I'll send your dinner up once you wake up. i should have stopped you so you could take your nap." the prince said and he looked at me with a smile. i smiled back. 

"if you say so, being out in the garden felt good just now. i needed fresh air. it's sad i can't go on the balcony from our bedroom." i say and we walked in the stairs. we pasted kyle and he walked right behind us. the prince chuckled as we walked up the stairs. 

"maybe we'll have a day off together and have a small picnic out there. it's true you sure needed the fresh air, the same for me. how does that sound kyle? you and Leon can join if you guys want." the prince says and looked at kyle and kyle smiled. we made it back to the room and the prince open the door for me.  

"sure, when this is all over we should all have a picnic. it nice for the whole pack to have a day off too." kyle said and looked at the prince. i walked in the room and the princes nodded. "have a good rest luna. I'll outside if you need me." kyle says and he leans against the wall beside the door. the prince walked in the room and close the room door as i go to sit on the bed. 

"oh yeah, princess. tomorrow I'll be taking a break for a few days. kyle can handle the pack while I'm gone, I'm sure you been thinking i been overworking lately." the prince says and sits next to me. i smiled at this as he was right. the Prince has been trying to make sure to get the red pack thing over with. only if we can make a deal but with ken, i don't think that's possible. 

"Good, it looks like you need a break anyway." i saw and put my hand on the prince's cheek. the prince grabbed my hand and lean in putting his forehead on mines. i closed my eyes and felt the prince kiss my nose. 

"go lay down, you need to rest. like i said I'll bring dinner after you wake up." the prince said and i open my eyes. i went into the bed putting the covers on me the prince getting up and tucking me in like a child. i laid on my side and smile at the prince who sat down next to me. he leaned in and kissed my head this time as i close my eye. the eyes were heavy as i got comfortable.

(prince William perspective) 

i finally introduce the princess to the rest of the pack after training them. they re trustworthy as i did trade for them but the old alpha didn't like me of course. i killed him easy as he didn't have enough manpower to bite me at all. the princess was surprised they were the same age as her, so was ian but at least he can make friends. some of them have mates already but a little of them are still looking for there mates like ian. 

"so we found their base and send them a note. do you really want to do this? i know the princess will be proud of you but i don't think the alpha will corporate personally." kyle said and he leaned against my desk. he looked at me and i sighed. i don't want to start a war personally and for sure the princess will be proud of me. 

"i will make peace with them and work with them to protect the north and the city. i left a note outside and the crow came back of course. the crow hasn't come back so I'm guessing ken is thinking about it or planing something else. just then ian walked in my study with gray one of his new best friend from the new extension of the pack. 

"i know my brother will say yes, just ask him just in case," ian said as he walked in my study. Kyle shook his head as i groaned. i told ian to knock on my door just in case I'm having a meeting or if the princess is in my study talking to me. gray walked in my study and they both stopped in front of me. i looked at ian as ian looked at me smiling like an i***t. "hey Nate, can gray ask something?" ian asked and i sighed as kyle moved away from me. he knows how i am when I'm angry, it's not pretty.

"ian, what did i say when entering my study? knock before you enter, i might have been in an important meeting with kyle just now or princess. also don't call me Nate. I'm your alpha ian, call me alpha." i say and ian went pale kyle covered his mouth and tried not to laugh. gray looked confused about what's going on of course. 

"sorry alpha, gray you should be the one to say," ian said and looked at gray who was starting to understanding what was going on. Gray cleared his throat as ian stepped back to the doors. kyle just watched from the corner of my desk. 

"i felt i found my mate when i was walking around the town yesterday and i was wondering if i can go back. there were many shops around so I'm guessing she works in one of the shops. her scent stayed there and did not move at all." gray says and i raised my eyebrows. "it wasn't very crowded and kyle was there. he can agree with me there." gray said and i looked at kyle. 

"it true plus i can agree with gray here. it the scent stays then she works in one of the family shops around that area. i met my mate the same way. I'll go with him if you like alpha." kyle said and he looked back at me. i sighed as gray was still looking for his mate. 

"Alright, you can go later today. kyle will call for you and you'll go with him. ian you go too. I'm sure kyle told me you felt your mate too when you were walking around yesterday too. your body language was telling it all." i say and looked at ian. ian looked shocked. 

"you-kyle told you?" ian said and he walked up to me slowly. i smiled and indeed as kyle walked around my desk to ian and gray. "i mean-can i go? father is going to be here soon to pick me up alpha." ian says and i put my hands on the desk.

"I'll tell father to wait for you besides he'll be happy you found your mate scent. i need to talk to father anyways." i say and ian nodded. "in two hours, go out and kyle will help you find them. i trust in him. kyle, we'll talk some more after i talk to my father." i say and kyle nodded. he walked to gray and ian putting his arm around there shoulders. 

"let go, boys, I'll teach you a little lesson on finding and talking to your mate. also teach you guys to respect the alpha too." kyle said and dragged ian and gray outside my study. i sighed as the doors closed. i know i met the princess by a large gap but i still smelled her from afar. it happened at a family party in the park so you can say it was a good timing i found the princess that way though she was still in school too. I'm happy that ian found his mate yesterday, i just hope he can see who she is so he doesn't go for the princess. same goes for ken, i hope his mate comes around and he goes for her. i lean back at my seat and looked out the garden where i saw the princess sitting table with Leon beside her. 

"go back inside in five minutes, if still there. I'll be there joining you," i say in my head sending it to the princess. the princess looked up at me in my study and she nodded, Leon looked confused and he looked up. there he saw me looking down at them and then he understood what was going on i nodded and the princess started to talk to Leon. i turned around and started to do my alpha and prince duties.

(ken's perspective) 

"no war? just want to make peace? i dong think the alpha is thinking straight." one of my pack members said and i folded up the note the prince send me, not maria. i sighed and put the note in my jacket. i can't believe they found our base and we can't move right now. were settled in as it is. it takes too much time to move out of our base and plus we have to find a new base. i was at a meeting with my pack and i had to share this with them. 

"I'll think about this, good meeting everyone. let i and dean talk about this even more and we'll tell you what we decided," i say and dean my partner and i got up from our seats. all my pack members got up from there seats and walked out of the dining room. one of the pack members came up to me as me i opened the door. 

"hey alpha, i forgot to say this but i think the prince expanded his pack. i saw more people going to his mansion then usual. the all look young too, close to our age, I'm guessing there seven to eighteen years old at best." he says and i was surprised. i did see younger teens our age going in and moving in the prince's mission. the prince had mini-mansion beside his mansion where all his pack members lived. 

"Thanks for telling me that, we'll also put that into our conversation too. get some rest. you need it." i say and the pack member nodded as he walked away to the rest of the pack members who went in the kitchen to grab food. all of my pack members been looking around the north and around the mansion of the prince for more details of how to attack or start this war. now the prince wants peace? 

"you know i say to make peace, i don't the point of having a war. i don't see why you want his mate. your mate could be somewhere too but you have to look for her." dean said and we walked out to the living room. i sighed as me and dean been here before. he tells me many times to just find my mate and she'll come around soon. maria found her mate and she'll stay with him forever. 

"we'll talk in my office dean, besides we also have to talk about why i haven't seen maria out in the garden as often and walking around town. there must be a reason, i feel like it's a good thing and bad thing that i won't like," i say and we walked up the stairs to my office next to my room. dean and i walked in my office and i walked to my desk right away sitting in my chair. dean closed the door and sit in the chair in front of me. 

"they have been married for a couple of months now maybe she pregnant. he probably wants to keep it a secret until its the right time to tell. that's my opinion, not sure if you agree with me." dean said and i started to think. that could be the case but i know maria is the type to move fast like that unless she changed her mind after she got married. i sighed. 

"let talk about some other things, should i make peace? i honestly don't want to start a war but i want Maria," i say and removed the note out my jacket. i opened it and dean shook his head as he took it and read it. i looked put at the mountain view behind me as dean started to think. 

(Prince William's perspective) 

"William.." i heard the Princess voice behind my study door and i looked up from my paperwork. kyle and Leon are out and the princess told me she can protect herself and she'll call for me if she needs my help. i put my paperwork in one neat pile. "can i come in for a second? it important." the Princess says and i straightened myself out before i spoke up. 

"come in princess," i say and the prince walked in my study while protecting her belly which was normal. i like seeing the princess protecting our child and it shows she protect our child in the future. she closes the door and in her hands, i saw a note. i frowned and got up from my seat. the prince walked up to me as i walked up to her. she showed me the note and i grabbed the note from her hands. "did you read it?" i asked and the princess shook her head. 

"i wanted you to see it first, of course, i have a bad feeling, to be honest." the princess says and i walked back to my desk i grabbed the princess's hand and pulled her to sit down in my seat behind the desk. i leaned against my desk and the princess leaned back in my chair looking at my paperwork. i opened the letter and 

"I'll make peace with you but i have rules i want you to follow plus a favor. rule one is no attacks when we meet or trade. my family lives in the city and i want to support them. I'm sure they'll like to own a few things from the north. two, we meet midway of the forest of our terrors. i know maria told you about me and how i want her but I'm willing to give up on her right now as i have other things to take care of other than you and wanting her. of course for the favor i want to see her and talk it out with her. this favor can be taken place next week. give me a note back when your done thinking about it." i sighed as i know ken wanted to see the princess but not like this. i think it time we share it soon so at least ken knows but i feel like this will make the peace between us not good. i frowned to this and the princess can see I'm not happy. 

"hey princess..." i say and fold up the note putting it in my pants pocket. the walked up to the princess and put my hands on her cheek gently. "i think we have a few things to talk about..." i say and the princess nodded as she looked up at me confused.

(maria ann perspective) 

i was in my room in a big shirt that the prince gave me. all the dresses i wear to sleep were small because of my belly and the prince had a whole bunch of shirts he was planning to burn away. he would give it away but that's not a good idea. the prince went to the town hall and we went to announce that we're expecting a child. of course, he told me to stay home as ian and his father will be there. Leon stayed back and kyle went to join the prince as his protection just in case the red pack attack. that was his father's idea. 

"Are you feeling okay? i know your nervous that alpha is telling the public about the big news." Leon said and stood next to me as he was in the room with me when he should be outside. Leon said it fine as long as he doesn't sit on the bed as his scent will be on the bed cover and the prince will not be happy with that. 

"i don't know how the public will react especially the red pack. how will they react? i feel like there going to do something soon." i say and Leon nodded as he sat against the wall. he crossed his legs and relaxed on the ground. i looked at Leon and he looked around our room. i smiled and laid down in the bed still looking at Leon who was thinking. "i wish you can sit in the chair but you can't leave your scent anywhere. we can't go outside either, i need fresh at some point." i say and Leon looked at me. 

"can i tell you something that only the alpha knows and now you'll know. i feel like you should know this as this is a perfect time in  one way." Leon said and he smiled at me. i was confused but i sighed. I and Leon have been talking a lot ever since he been my guard from the beginning. it good to nice to know something one knows. 

"perfect timing? sure i like to know," i say and smiled as Leon who nodded. he sighed before he spoke up. i cuddled the cover over my body. it was kind of cold and we changed the covers recently. i have been living it. it was was fall so, of course, it's cold. 

"i actually don't let live here in the mission, i live in the town with my mate and surprisingly we have a child together. i am a year older than the alpha just to let you know." Leon says and he looked at me surprised. he has a child? i do see Leon leave the mansion whenever he's done for work and towards the town. the prince is twenty-one so that means Leon is twenty-two. 

"How old is he? let me guess you had your child before you joined the pack?" i questioned and Leon nodded as he went to his pocket and pulled out a wallet. "here i thought all you guys don't have modern things." i say and Leon chuckled as he pulled out a picture. 

"This is my son fin, he's two years old and yes he was one year old when i joined the pack. i told alpha and i told him not to say anything but i think i should tell everyone. i told alpha yesterday that maybe I'll tell everyone once the new prince of the new generation is born. your child will need a friend after it's born." Leon said and i giggled as it was perfecting timing for sure though his sn is two years older than our child. that's not going to be a problem as he can teach our child a few things. 

"wow, he's so cute. looks like your mate more as he doesn't look nothing like you to be honest," i say and grabbed the picture from Leon's hands. Leon shook his head and he put his wallet on his lap. Leon had blonde hair and fin his son had brown-black hair. fin did have Leon's eyes color though. 

"he acts like his mother too but he loves me very much. he knows what i do and he proud of me. he wants to join the pack too when he gets older but i don't know if Alpha will be in charge still." i sighed and gave the picture back to Leon who grabbed it putting it back in his wallet. 

"that good to hear, i just hope our child looks like between us. I and the prince basically have the same hair color but the prince has blue eyes and i have green-brownish color. we'll see but i want him to be smart and responsible like me." i say and Leon started to laugh. i put my hands on my belly and rubbed it softly. 

"you'll enjoy your time with your child but in the beginning, you'll hate it. you have the help so you'll have it easy but i didn't get it easy. just know family life is amazing and you love it every second of it. though i feel like your family life is going to be different." Leon says and i sighed as that part was true. i in the royal family so, of course, it was going to be different. also, the prince will want his son to take over the pack he becomes king and I'm the queen. "you should nap luna, you'll need it after alpha comes back." Leon said and i nodded. i was a little tired and i need energy when the prince comes back. 

"you right about that part. looks like you'll give tons of advice to me after this baby is out," i say and Leon nodded as he got off the ground. i laid down in the bed and put the covers over me. Leon walked to the doors and he opened the door about to head out. 

"call me if you need help. I'll check up on you from time to time.  I'll be outside." Leon said and he walked out the door smiling. i closed my eyes falling into darkness a few minutes later. a nap well needed.
