chapter sixteen: meeting at territory line

i walked in the prince's study slowly seeing the prince cleaning up his desk leaving one note on the desk that looked like it was delivered from the outside and an empty paper with a pen. i sighed and walked in and close the door getting the prince's attention. the prince looked up at me and smiled as he got up from his chair. he walked over to me as i walked over to him. he called me over to his study which is rare. i usually come to his study when i need to talk to him but he called for me. 

"Hey princess, how are you feeling?" the prince asked and he put his hands on my shoulders still smiling. i smiled back and put my hands on my growing belly. the prince leaned in and kissed my forehead. "come sit down, i have important things to talk about with you." the prince says and he put his hands around my shoulders gently and he pulled me towards his desk. i walked with him and he put me in his seat he was sitting in. 

"what do you want to talk about? it sounds serious," i say nervous and the prince leaned in to kiss my head again but this time he kissed me sweetly. i claimed down looked down at the note that was folded in front of me. the prince then put his arm around the back of the chair behind me. "is this a note from ken? do you want me to read it?" i asked and looked at the prince who just nodded. i sighed and went to grab the note. i went to read it with the prince by my side. i know he read it already.

"Hello William, i see my partner's instincts were right. congrats on your firstborn. I'll admit peace for now after talking to my pack. something has come up that more important and i need to take care of it first beforehand. i do want to meet and have some agreements as i want us to work together for the time being. i do still want to meet maria and make peace with her. ask her if it's fine and there we can agree when to meet." i was shocked but I'm happy ken want to make peace. i just wonder what's going on that's more important but we'll find out when we meet. i looked at the prince who was looking down at me. i looked at the empty paper and pen in front of me. 

"just write a note and leave it here. I'll put it outside the balcony for you. i know you need your nap right now so just take your time with the note and we can nap together okay? it has been a while since we've nap together." the prince says and he put his hand on my back. i nodded and the prince leaned in to kiss my head and he walked away from me heading put his study. i sighed and grabbed the pen and emty paper in front of me. i put the note on the side leaving it open so i can answer the questions that ken had. 

"Hello, ken. I'll agree to meet up with you and make peace with you. under one condition, i need protection by my side but it's not the prince but one of his pack members. you can have one of your pack members there too if you want. sent a note back when to meet and I'll see you then, maria." i put the pen down and left the paper on the desk unfolded. i got up from the chair and went to leave the prince's study. just as i got to the door i saw the prince waiting for me. he smiled and he put his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him as i close the door to his study. 

"let go nap, you need it bad as you have dark circles. not good to have lack of sleep." the prince says and he kisses my head. i nodded as we walked to our room. the prince looked drained like me, i rarely can sleep at night as it hard to sleep with a belly and the prince knows to have a problem sleeping too. we made it to our room and i got changed into something more sleepable and the prince did the same. we got all our work done for the day so it was a perfect time to bond with each other. i went n bed first and the prince followed putting his hand on my waist. his hard chest hit my back. of course, he was shirtless. he kissed my neck. i closed my eyes feeling the warmth and soon i fell into a deep sleep. 

i woke up from my nap and i felt the prince getting up from the bed and i looked to see a note back from ken. kyle probably put the note outside the balcony for the prince and we got a note back. i groaned and turn to face the prince who grabbed the note. he walked back to me and sat next to me and leaned against the wall while sitting on the bed. the prince went to read the note and he sighed as he put it on his nightstand. he looked down at me and moved some of my hair out of my face. 

"looks like were meeting ken in two days at the terror line. I'll have kyle with you to guard you so you're not alone. are you happy that ken agreed?" the prince asks and i smiled as i nodded. the prince gently rubbed my back of my head. "you can work like normal while I'll prep the pack for the meet up just in case. I'll get our dinner so I'll be right back." the prince says and he got off the bed. i just hope the meet goes well, i have two days to prep too as i will talk to ken in person.

(prince William perspective) 

it's a day before the meeting i knew i had to have a meeting with my pack about what to expect tomorrow and to tell them what's going on. i sat down at my seat at the end of the table with my pack members sitting in the table and some leaning again the walls of the dining room. the princess was finishing up her work in her study with Leon by her side. i updated Leon already as i knew he wasn't going to be part of the meeting. 

"okay to update on everyone the red pack and i have been keeping contact. we've made an agreement to make peace and plus there something else we've agreed too. we have a meeting at the territory line tomorrow afternoon. i want everyone's opinions right now and no attacks or else the deal is off." i say and everyone looked shocked. 

"they agreed to make peace? do they also want to work together too?" kyle question beside me as he looked at me. i nodded and put my hands together putting my elbows on the table. all the pack members looked at each other and ian spoke up. 

"so what deal do they have in mind if they want to work together?" ian asked and i sighed as i knew someone was going ask that. ian was sitting at the other end of the table with gray by his side. i can see that gray will his partner in the future. "also let me guess the other thing they agreed on is to meet the luna in person?" ian questioned and he looked at me confused. i really don't want to say the princess knows the red pack alpha right now as it will make the situation worse. 

"that we'll find out when we meet up with them, also yes the alpha of the red pack wants to meet the luna. kyle will be there to protect her. for now, let have everyone in groups in case they do make the first move and there we have the advance. that i just hope no one attacks anyone so i will say to attack on my signal, that goes for the new members alright." i say and looked at ian who just nodded. 

"Alright, so should we be transformed into wolf form or in human form?" asked one of the new pack members. that is a good questioned, i looked at kyle who sighed. kyle went to speak up for me as i will be in human form and kyle is my second command so i trust him on this choice. 

"some of us will in wolf form and the pther of us will be in human form so it's not much as a threat to the red pack." kyle said and he crossed his arms across his chest. all the pack members looked at each other again. i can see they are thinking who would be transformed in wolf form and who stays in human form. i for sure can see who stays in human forms and transform in wolf form. kyle is the same, we know who fights better in wolf form. 

"We can talk about on the day of the meeting beforehand. for now let's talk about our formation when we meet up with the red pack," i say and we continued the meeting. it continued for another good hour before we ended it. ian came up saying he has something to tell me as everyone else went back to do there own things. i walked ian to my study with kyle by my side. we past Leon who nodded as he was outside guarding the princess of course. 

"what do you want to tell me?" i asked looking at ian as we walked in my study. kyle closed the door as I and ian walked to my desk. ian sat in front of me in the seat in front of my desk. i sat down in my seat waiting for ian to speak up. 

"i think i found my mate, we talked a few times when i go walked in the town with the group. kyle knows who she is so he can vouch for me. i want to have dinner with her in the town and i was wondering if you can let go out. i can have one pack member near me so I'm not alone." ian says and i looked at kyle who smiled and nodded at me. i sighed and i was happy for him. 

"of course, we can plan that after we have the meeting with the red pack. I'm happy for you ian, i can't wait to tell father when he comes here to pick you up. I'm sure father will be happy to help too." i said and ian turned red in embarrassment. kyle walked up to us and he put his head on Ian's head messing up his hair. 

"she a cute one too like the luna, they're the same age so for sure they can be friends." kyle said and looked at me as i nodded. the Princess doesn't really have friends other than in the city ones. i have to meet this girl for sure too and plus once she agrees on to marry ian she'll also be part of the royal family too. 

"Okay, we'll talk about this after the meeting but for now go and meet this girl of your ad tell her. I'll have kyle with you so don't worry about being attacked." i say and ian smiled ash e got up from his seat. "you want to keep this secret from the pack?" i questioned and ian and kyle started to walked out my study. ian looked back as kyle opened my study door. 

"yes please, and you can tell luna to since she's family." ian says and he walked out my study with kyle behind him. i sighed and got off my seat to see the princess after a long day of work. i can wait to tell her the good news and meet this girl that ian found.

(maria ann perspective) 

two days have past and it was the day of the meeting. i put on a long sleeve and a pair of warm legging. i can't really wear anything else right now as jeans as too tight for me and my belly has grown out so much i don't think jeans are not a good idea right now. i sighed as i put my hair in a bun and left some of my hair out. my hair was long and planing to cut it short too but not sure how the prince will feel about that. 

"Hey princess, are you ready?" the prince walked out the walk-in closet in normal casual clothes. he was dresses warmed up and he had a small blazer in his arms. i smiled as the prince walked up to me. he put the blazer on me making me feel warmer then i was before. "you need to stay warm, i got this made to your size." the prince says and i put my arms on the sleeves in. 

"I'm ready,  also before we go i want to cut my hair. how short do you want it?" i asked and the prince looked at me. he put his hands on my waist and kissed my head. "i want short hair but i don't know what you like it?" i questioned and the prince smiled as he rubbed my cheek gently. 

"not to short okay? I'll let you decided in the length after but for now, let go to meet up with ken." the prince says ad he kissed my forehead this time as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to the room door. once out the room i saw every pack member ready and some were already in their wolf forms. we walked down the stairs as everyone looked at us. "time to go!" the prince yelled and all the pack members got up from there seats. some got off the ground since they were in wolf form. we walked out the front doors as Leon and Jordan open them. 

it took a ten-minute hike which i didn't mind and we made it to the territory line. the red pack wasn't there yet but the Prince had my close to him with his arms around my shoulders. he kept kissing my neck sweetly as the pack members were in their spots. just then we all heard the sound of walking, i looked up to see the red pack the same size come to us. the prince stopped giving me sweet kisses and he moved in front of me with kyle nearby. 

"Sorry it took us a long time, let get this meeting started." ken said as he stood in front of the prince. he looked at me while i was holding my belly. the prince grabbed my hand and tightly squeezed it to tell me I'll be okay. "let get start to the point, i have there are three rules we can both agree on. one, no attacks, and no spying. i want us to work together so i don't want any risk of us ruining it. two, we can make trades as you can give us food and stuff that is rare to find. we'll do the same as we live in the mountains. there are some things you might like to trade. three, this is a big one. i got news from my father that the south of the prince is planning to attack the north as he is a spy working there. we want to help you protect the north. the pack from the south is twice as big as your pack now so with our packs together it's the same size as the south. what you think?" ken questioned and the prince sighed as he gave it some thought. i ever thought the south would want to attack the north as the north never ever did anything to them all these years after the big war many years ago. 

"if what your father says is the truth then I'll agree on the agreements. what reason did the south want to attack the north?" the prince asked and ken sighed as he crossed his arms over his chest "we can talk about this on another day or mail each other about it. this is a serious matter after all. for now, want to shake on it?" the prince said and he looked at ken sighed as he put out his hand. 

"shake on it and we can mail on what i know from time to time from my father. i will also give you his contact you can contact him if you like. when we gather enough information we'll meet in person and discuss this even more." ken says and the prince also put out his hand and he shook ken's hand. the prince nodded. "not for the second deal, can i talk to the luna alone? as agreed she has a bodyguard near her." ken said and the prince sighed as he let go of ken hand. 

"of course, kyle go with her." the prince said and he kissed my head as he let go of my sweaty hand. i walked with ken keeping a distance. Kyle was right behind me as we walked to another part of the forest far from the others. we walked a good five minutes and we stopped near a lake. i leaned again a tree nearby and held my belly. kyle stood near me as ken turned around to look at me. 

"so how are you feeling? congrats int he baby, carrying the baby must take a lot of your energy." ken said and he leans against a tree near him. i smiled and looked at ken who looked hurt. i sighed before i spoke up and rubbed my belly gently. 

"yeah I'm tired but i can manged somehow while working. four-months in and I'm happy. the prince makes time to see me so I'm confident he'll make the time for our child in the future. what about you? how was life after graduation?" i asked and ken looked down on the ground. he was thinking and then looked up speaking up. i knew it was going to be a long response. he been thinking about me even though i found my mate ad married him. i know he's not giving up on me until after the south pack problem which is bigger than his pack before we made peace just now. kyle list stood there also listening as he looked at ken interested in our conversation.  

"Well to start off i lived in the city and was there before my father the old alpha took over the mountains. he gave me the alpha role after he does and after that, i grew up in the mountains. i did go to school in the city but i came back to the mountain during my vacations. my mom raised me by herself so it was a tough life for me. i became alpha and you met me after i became the alpha. I'm still finding my mate which i sensed her but i don't really remember where i sensed her. i will get there i promise. lastly, right now i going through family issues. my mom remarried so my stepfather is the one who's the spy but my mom brother join the pack of the south so she is sad about that." ken said and i felt bad for him right away. ken did become an alpha at an early age so it made sense why he's an alpha. 

"let me guess your mom brother is asking you to join your pack with the south one and fight against the north too?" kyle questioned and ken looked at kyle. i wasn't thinking kyle would interfere but if ken's mom brother joined the pack of the south then he has to make sure that's not the case. ken sighed and he spoke up again but more in a serious tone. 

"that right and that why i make peace with you. i need your help to protect my mother and my stepfather who is the spy. if they find out he's a spy he'll be killed right away. i don't want that." ken says and kyle nodded. ken was right about his father being killed off, i don't want that either and nor does the prince. i can see why ken didn't tell him this but i feel like it's better if the prince knows. 

"i see, I'm sorry about your family. if you told the prince about your family problems he can finger something out and help you with that too. he understood when my mom found out i had a mate and found my mate. she didn't want me to leave but he did to make her feel like family. guess what she agreed. now she lives with my father in the castle with his mother and father." i say and ken started to think. kyle whispered in my ear as he leaned in. 

"your to kind to a friend but that true, the alpha does need to know. I'm sure i can helo as i am from the same boat." i sighed as i looked at ken still thinking. kyle doesn't have a stepfather but his father did die when he was young too. he and ken can get along i think. 

"I'll think about that, for now, that how life been for me. how about you? have you talked about the baby's future at all? that is very important for the royal bloodline after all." ken says and he was roght. we talk about it before we sleep. we talked about baby names and are between ten names. school wise and another thing we haven't talked about yet. maybe when we get back him that the first thing i have to talk to the prince about. 

"We talked about it but not that far into it. he has been busy with the meeting today but after this, I'll talk to him about my future of our child," i say and ken nodded as he smiled. I and ken talk for the next ten minutes before we went back to the rest of the pack who were talking with each other as friends. we got back to the mansion. everyone went back to what they were doing. I and the prince went back to our bedroom. i went to take a nap while the prince went back to work as ken's crow came back with a note. the prince went to his study with kyle by his side of course.
