chapter nine: "guess who's back."

"stop, that tickles." i groaned and rolled to cover my face. the prince was kissing my neck as he was ready for the day. i was still in bed and i didn't want to get out of the warm covers yet. i know the prince rolled his eyes as i felt him move away from me. 

"it's 8 am and you have princess duties soon. you don't want me to do this princess." the prince said and i groaned one more time as i was just expecting him to pounce on me but i was wrong. the covers were removed from my body and i was lifted into the air. i yelped to this and i looked up to see the prince with a smirk on his face. "It looks like i have to help you get ready." the prince says and he walked us to the bathroom. i froze and i knew what the prince was thinking already. 

"Please put me down! I'll get ready William, "i say but the prince didn't stop until he got to the bathroom. he put me on the bathroom counter. i was wearing PJ shorts and a large shirt so i felt the coldness on my legs when the prince put me dow. i yelped agian and took a grab of the prince by his shoulders. the prince put his hands on the side of my legs. 

"Are you sure you're not going back to bed? I'll ask one of the maids to come and check up on you. if you're not ready for a meeting we have today then i have to do my part and help you get ready. you can put your own makeup but your outfit is hanging here." the prince pointed to a black pencil skirt with a cute pink blouse. i nodded as the prince leans in and kissed me sweetly like he was saying 'sorry'. "now get ready, I'll be in my office and doing some extra paperwork. just come to my office and we'll be on our way." the prince says and he let go of me. he walked out of the bathroom as nothing happened. i sighed and looked down at my lap. 

it took thirty minutes for me to get ready, i got done doing my makeup and I'll say this i was so used to people doing my makeup up to this point. i wasn't really used to put my own makeup anymore. i was wearing the outfit the prince chose for me and it wasn't my style but I'll get used to it. i sighed as i fixed my hair and walked out the walk-in closet. my shoes were ready to put side my shoes and it was heels which i hated. I'm just glad that it not the tall ones. i put on the shoes and walk to the room doors. 

"you look, beautiful princess, I'm glad i choose your outfit today. usually, i make the maid shoes it but today i wanted to choose it." the prince said as i close the room door. i giggled to this and walk up to the prince and he had a smile on his face. 

"thank you, William. are we separating agian or together this time?" i asked and the prince just put his hands on my hips. the prince shook his head. i was confused and the prince pulled me close to him. i hit the prince's chest. i put my hands on the prince's chest for support. 

"were together this time around also that means you have to act mannered. were going to the public again." the prince says and i just nodded as it is part of my princess duties to deal with the public and the people. the prince let go of me and he pushed me from my back to the stairs.

"so today's plans are to meet the pack first and then we go out the public. the same rules go as before. you speak when i say. i don't want you to feel pressed to talk. let me do the talking." the prince said and i nodded. i don't plan to talk to the public anyways as i feel like I'll say the wrong thing. 

"i understand William. i would say the wrong thing anyway. I'm not trying to ruin the family here." i say and the princes chuckled. we made it to the bottom of the stairs and the prince grabbed my hand. he grabbed it roughly as he knew we were going to be attacked with people outside the gate taking pictures. it has been happening ever since the first time i met the public. the public really wants to know about me. 

"just stand by my side, I'll protect you." the prince says and we pulled me towards the door. the doors open right away by itself and we walked out. right away i saw flashes outside the gate. i covered my face while the prince walks me to a regular car. i was confused as he asks the driver to drive us all the time. "I'm driving us everywhere today. like i said to stand by my side." the prince says and he leads to to the passenger seat. he unlocked the car and the prince opened the passenger seat door for me. i smiled at this and entered in. the prince closed the passenger door and walked to the driver seat. 

"Does your car have a driver's license? they can search it up and see where we are. they can also damage the car too." the prince entered in and he closed the driver seat as he sat down. i put my seat belt on and the prince did the same. 

"It does but its not part of the database. it's only part of the loyal database. we have our own royal database for ourselves. your father and your name is part of the database now. your friends cant search you up anymore unless we give them permission." the prince says and i was supirsed but i mean the royal are there own people in there own ways. 

"that's good to know, where are we meeting the pack?" i asked and the prince turned on his car. the prince checked his har before he looked at me. 

"we'll talk to them before we go out to the public. they'll join us and while we meet the public for protection. my main goal right now is to protect you at all costs." the prince said and i nodded as the prince looked at me with a smile 

"Okay, we should get going before we're late," i say and the prince nodded and he started to drive.

"prince! princess! when will the future king and princess come?" asked one of the reporters. we were halfway through the second interview for today and they were asking the same old questions. they kept asking questions about me as the public wants to get to know me. 

"soon but right now we are both busy as the princess has started her duties. she was not part of the royal family in the past so it will have some time to get used too." the prince says and some reporters took note of this. 

"Nothing has happened between and the princess yet? what past lovers have the princess had? do you know?" asked another reporter and i frowned at this. the prince squeezed my hand and he also frowned. 

"that is not of your concern, the princess has her past and she'll share it if she is comfortable." the prince says in a serious tone and the reporter moved back a little but nodded. more took note. 

"can i ask this question to the princess? i heard your parents had a fight as moving from the city you used to live into the north. your father and mother are divorced now?" i froze at this and i can tell prince was the same. i was about to speak up but i remembered only the prince will give me permission.

"that is also not of your concern, her family matter is private within the royal not that she is a royal." the prince says once again in a serious tone. he also sounded like he had enough. the reporter froze and he just looked down as he took note. 

"Another question for the princess, what are your thoughts on the prince so far? do you love living the royal life?" i looked at the prince and the prince sighed. 

"she loves me of course and she is getting used to the royal life. we'll cut this meeting short due to my word. have a good day everyone." the prince says and he stood up from his seat. i gently pulled me up fro my seat and he had a tight grip on my hand. kyle and two other pack members followed behind us as we walk down the stairs from the small stage. all reporters were still talking pictures while yelling questions. the prince just ignored it and we continuted to walk down the stairs behind the building we were in a concert type of building. 

"they really went into asking such personal questions." said kyle as the prince open a door to a back ally. the prince parked near the door for easy escape. the prince walked me to the passenger seat and opened it for me. 

"they really went overboard. alpha do you want us near you as you drive or go back to the forest to protect?" said one of the pack members said ad he looked at the prince as i entered the car and the prince closed the passenger door. i didn't hear much of the conversation after that and it took them a few minutes to talk about the new plan. the prince nodded and he walked to the driver's seat. i put my seatbelt on and the prince entered the driver's seat and he looked sick and tried. the prince put his seatbelt on.

"you a nap William when we get home. you look pale," i say worried and the prince looked at me. i put my hand on the prince's cheek and the prince smiled as he put on his seatbelt. he put his hand over mines on his cheek. 

"I'll be okay princess." the prince says and he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of my hand. i was still worried so no way I'm letting this go. 

"you need to take of yourself, William. your father and mother would say the same," i say and the prince looked at me as he knew i was right about his parents. he sighed and he kissed the back of my hand one more time. 

"Okay, I'll sleep but you have to sleep with me. i need your presence with me, princess." the prince says and he looked at me with puppy eyes. i put a smile on my face and nodded. the prince put a smile on his face and he kissed my back of my hand one more time and he let go of my hand. "let's get out of here. i had enough of today." the prince says and i nodded one more time. 

(unknown perspective) 

i watch her as she got out of the car. the prince of the north was holding her hand as he held her hand. this pisses me off a lot as maria is mines. she was mine from the start but i couldn't prove it to Maira during the highschool days. 

"hey alpha!" my partner came up from behind me and i turned around quickly. we were spying on the prince of the north and trying to see a way into his mansion. i am the leader of the red pack and i just moved back to the north after i graduated from my high school. most of my pack is from my high school.

"what wrong? prince's William pack is near?" i questioned and my partner nodded. i sighed and looked at maria being pulled into the mansion. i want to kidnap maria but that's only if we have no choice. i got up from my squat and past my partner to the deep end of the woods. 

"let's go, don't want to get caught," i say and my partner and i transformed into are wolf form. we started to run and we ran to are the cave that we were seeking in as are the main house was far and not worth for prince William's pack to find that main house. 

"you know if you want that girl bad you should have marker her before she met her mate. you could have made her yours first." my partner says and he knew how much i wanted this girl but she was a type of girl that was hard to get. 

"i should have but i didn't think she meets her mate right away. i was stupid to take my time," i said back and we jumped a cliff landing and continued to run. 

"taking your time is not always the right answer, I'm glad you know now." my partner says and i rolled my eyes. i will get maria by my side soon, just wait. 

(prince Willaim's perspective) 

i woke up next to the scent of my princess and i open my eyes smiling knowing my princess was next to me. i saw the princess was facing away from me but she was in deep sleep. i sighed and took in her scent even more. the last few meets i had with my pack was them talking about the red pack trying to get in my mansion and maybe kidnapping the princess for scaring. there's no way I'm not letting them take my princess away from me. 

"have a good noght sleep princess," i say and kissed my princess's head.  got off the bed in my soft PJ pants. i grabbed a shirt near me and put it on. i have to admit i was feeling a little sick so i definitely need to take care of myself right now before i continue my work. i walk to the room door and left the room quietly without waking up the princess. i looked around the hallway and saw it was emty of course since everyone is protecting the mansion and taking turns. i went to kyles room since i know it his break time. his room was next to my office so he can second manhandle my work whenever I'm not around. 

"Hey, Kyle," i said knocking on his room door. i hear kyle groan and walking to his room door. i guess he was trying to catch on some sleep. kyle opens the door shirtless and on just his underwear. I'm glad princess is not with me. 

"yes alpha?" kyle questioned and he looked at me anoyed. i rolled my eyes and just walk in kyle's room. kyle closed his room door and i went to look around kyle's messy room. " i was about to take a shower but what going on?" kyle questioned and i sat on kyle's messy bed. how does his mate deal with him? 

"well, i was going to say to clean your room so the maids don't have to do a lot of work and also that i need you to take over. I'm feeling a little sick and i need a break for a few days," i say and kyle looked supirsed. it rare for me to take a break and now i need a break now. most of my pack knows i don't take breaks as i want stuff taken care of at the moment.

"the alpha needs to step down a bit? let me guess the married life of taking the life out of you." kyle said and i know he took a step down from his duties before after he got married. i shook my head and combed my hair back with my hand. 

"yes, it is also that the red pack is after my princess is stressing me out. i wonder why they have to target my princess out of all things," i say and Kyle shook his head and he crossed his arms across his chest. he looked at me as i was overthinking and you could say i was overthinking. 

"well you have us and word on the news on the streets is the alpha from the red pack has returned as he is the same age as the princess. I'm thinking there targeting the princess if they know the princess or meet the princess in some way. the worst is they went to the same high school." kyle says and i gave it some thought. the alpha of the red pack was always never there for a reason and comes back sometimes. that would make sense. looks like i have to ask kyle to stay by the princess's side no matter what if that's the case. 

"kyle i need you to stay by the princess's side from now on. if that's the case no way I'm risking princess getting kidnapped within my reach. she needs a bodyguard and I'll ask you to do the job. you can switch with others if you need a break." i say and Kyle sighed. i just gave him more work but this is important to me. Kyle nodded as he grabbed his clothes that looked like fresh clothes. 

"copy that alpha, I'll start guard on princess after my shower." kyle says and i got up from kyles bed. i looked around kyle room again and i knew i had to say this one thing. 

"if you don't want the maids to pick up clean clothes fix them up and hang them. you don't want all your clothes in the laundry at one point. you have a walk-in closet for a reason." i say and kyle scoffed as he walks in his bathroom. 

"copy that alpha, I'll do that after my shower and start my guarding duties too." kyle says and he closed his bathroom door. i sighed and walked out of kyle's room. i need to head back to my princess and sleep some more. i also need to eat and take medicine too.

"Hey William, can we talk?" the princess asked as she walked in front of me. i was talking another set of my medicine and i was feeling better but it's for good caution. i put my glass of water down on the nightstand and the princess stopped in front of me. i grabbed the princess's hands and pulled her closer to me. i split my legs so the princess was between my legs. 

"sure, talk away," i said and i noticed the princess looked behind her before looking back at me. i knew what she wanted to talk about right away. i knew kyle was behind that door and the princess had a meeting with my mother as she wanted to see the princess after a long time.

"why do i need a bodyguard? I'm just meeting with your mother." the princess says and i just sighed. i kissed one of the princess's hand. the princess rolled her eyes. she thinks I'm joking around but no way I'm joking. 

"word on the street is that the red pack is targeting you if they don't get there way. no ways that happening so i asked kyle to keep company with you. i want to get better and rather stay home. i want to do some work but not a lot of work. " i say and the princess looked surprised. she was thinking of what to say.

"so if they don't get my way they will use me against you? what do you know about the alpha of the red pack at all? you never mentioned the alpha at all actually." the princess says and i sighed. its time i be honest with her.

"word on the street is that the alpha came back and he is also the same age as you. one-third of the pack is the same age as you which means you probably meet them most likely or they seem you at one point," i say and the princes nodded as now she knows why i asked kyle to be her bodyguard. 

"if the alpha does know me, what is the worse that can happen?" the princess asked and i was supirsed. that i never thought of. i cleared my throat and removed my hand from the princess's hand. i put my hand on her hips and pulled the princess closer to me. she put her hands on my shoulders for support. 

"then he'll make you his and no ways I'm not letting that happen too. just make sure you stay near kyle and my mother. you're popular to the public now so your on everyone's radar." i say and the princess nodded as i lean in and gave her a sweet kiss. the princess smiled in the kiss and she wrapped her arm around my neck. and i put my arms around her waist.

"i promise to stay by kyle no matter what William. i rather stay with you than anyone else right now." the princess says and i smiled and peaked the princess's lips.  i put my head in the princess's neck and the princess giggled at this. 

"be careful princess. I'll reach out kyle when i can," i say and the princess shook her head. i let go of her and the princess walked away tot hr room door. i sighed and now i have to find out who this alpha is. i combed my hair back woth both my hands. i looked at the small amout of paperwork i had and i had from kyle. i had to get to them right away. 

(maria ann's perspective) 

"don't you think the prince is overreacting?" i questioned as kyle entered the car and closed the door. the driver started to drive right away and kyle just leaned back putting his feet on the chair. he was just relaxing since we have a lot of room in the car. 

"i think so too but I'm sure he's only doing it for your his family's sake and your sake. the princess getting kidnapped by the enemy after a few weeks of marriage isn't a good headline if you think about it." kyle said and i raised my eyebrows. he was for sure right about my getting kidnaped at an early time.

"so how do you know the alpha is the same age as me?" i asked looking at kyle who was looking out the window minding his own business. kyle sighed and he removed his feet off the seat. 

"one of the pack members found their main cave there staying in and overheard something. the alpha and the other third of the pack were coming back after finishing high school." kyle said he looked back at me. i nodded and i mean if they mentioned highschool then for sure they have to be the same age as me. what took so long to go home after graduating. maybe they had extra things to do back home?

"So are you planning to raid the base? too soon?" i questioned and kyle nodded as he smiled. there probably too much of them if they attack in a small number, if they attack in a single group, means they're outnumbered.

"We are planning a raid and trying to be smart about it. it just will take time and alpha don't mind us taking our time. I'm sure that's like school when you work around a project. you have to smart about it." kyle said and i scoffed as it was true. when i did projects i always worked around it so get the A i needed to pass the class. 

"Good point. looks like i have to stay home all-day when it happens. just promise to make sure the prince doesn't do anything stupid." i say and the kyle chuckled as he looked back out the window. he sighed and leaned back on the seat. 

"i promise you, princess. I'll make sure he doesn't get himself killed." kyle said and he put out his pinky finger out. i just covered my mouth trying not to laugh. i sighed before i put my pinky finger. he held my pinky finger tight and he shook it too. "a promise is a promise. by the way, the ride should be short. be ready since we'll be attacked by paparazzi as we get out of the car. I'll stay by your side so you'll be fine." kyle said and i nodded and grabbed my bag. the car stopped and there i heard yelling right away. i looked at kyle and he raises his eyes brows asking me if I'm ready.  i smiled and kyle went to the door opening it.
