chapter eighteen: start of war warnings

"quiet down charlie, mommy is here," i say carrying a slightly crying baby in my arms. the prince was in a quick meeting and i was in the baby room taking of Charlie are the first son aka prince. i can tell right away he looked like the prince but i can see he had my blue eyes. it has been a week since i gave birth, i healed well after, and now i able to play with charlie while the prince deal with his stuff. i have been put off work after giving birth and i don't mind as i want to bond with my son. we named our son Charlie Levi Williams as live is his middle name aka my last name before. my middle name is ann but i like my middle name a lot so i put it whenever i write my name on homework or assignments in the past in school.

"Sorry princess, has charlie calm down?" the prince walked in the room slowly as charlie was falling asleep in my arms. i just nodded and the prince walked up to me and he put his hand on my back. he looked down at charlie smiling and i smiled also as i put charlie in his crib. i put the blanket over charlie and the prince closed the blinds in the baby room. "let get out. fin will take his nap soon to so Leon will be here soon to guard them both. the prince says and we walked out the baby room together. Leon introduced fin his son after i gave birth a few days later. everyone was shocked at first but they accepted fin fast. fin plays with charlie all the time even though fin is older than him. he knows charlie is a baby and is gentle with him.

"of course, so what did ken tell you so far?" i asked and the prince was about to close the door as Leon came up the stairs with fin in his arms sleeping. we had a big couch where fin sleeps often and plays with him on sometimes they nap together and it the cute sight to see. the prince grabbed my hand and he walked us to our room as Leon past us to the baby room entering it slowly. 

"well were preparing for the war and training the pack as ken said they are well trained and ken can help train my pack. he does out a good fight when i tried him as an example but of course, we didn't kill each other." the prince says and i shook my head. the prince has been prepping for the war for weeks now and I'm glad he training the pack making them stronger. he has been training them himself so i can see he got stronger. of course, he's going to fight and i can't stop him. even his father can't stop him.

"that good to hear but i know you're a little rough so i hope you're easy on ken. he didn't do anything you know that" i say and enter the room. the prince walked in last and closed the door. i turned to face the prince who just pulled me towards his chest. i was back to my normal weight from the start. the prince leaned in and he kissed me sweetly. the prince was still waiting for me to heal fully so he been kissing me and nothing else. 

"i know I'm rough and i know you like it rough. so what the plan so we don't have number two. i heard about a pill but i don't know about that while you're still breastfeeding." the Prince asked and that was a good question. i sure the prince used condoms before and the pill thing is well i never tried that. "i know about condoms so I'll use that for now but we'll find a way." the prince says and i nodded as i leaned up and pecked the prince's lips. i walked to the walk-in closet to change into something comfier.  the prince followed behind me and he also went to change as he was in workout clothes. i was in jeans and a shirt since i wanted to look decent with guest aka the red pack. 

"I'll talk to my mom about this. i am an only child but i;m sure they had a plan just in case," i say putting a big shirt and PJ shorts on. i removed my bra and put a cardigan on to cover up my chest of course. the prince was shirtless and in PJ pants. it getting to be summer soon so it was getting hotter by the day. i walked out of the closet and the prince followed behind me. 

"you should talk to my mother too since i do have a brother. she might have an idea too." the prince said and he put his hand on my waist as we walked to the bed. "I'll get charlie after he wakes up so you can rest. you need it since i been gone half the day." the prince says and he laid next to me as i lay down. i was taking care of charlie and i did bring charlie to see the prince in the middle of there training. everyone took a break and greeted Charlie. Leon mate was there to take care of fin. 

"Thanks, i need charlie here to sleep with us," i say and the prince kissed my head. fin sleeps in his baby room during the day but he sleeps in our room at night. we have a crib in our room near our bed. it was better to deal with charlie at night when he's near us. we always change charlie in his baby room in the bathroom. that's why the bathroom is for right? 

"so what do you think of Leo living with us? he knows the south is going to attack us and Leon wants his family to be safe. he wants to move into the mansion with us. i say yes, what do you think?" the prince asked and looked at the prince shocked as he knows my answer. 

"yes, William, plus that good for fin too. he gets to grow up with charlie a little as long this war will last. it best that final and his mate stays safe." i say and the prince some as he leaned in and pecked my lips. i smiled back and he cuddled with me as he went to grab a book from his nightstand. it a kid's book from charlie's room. charlie sleeps in our bed sometimes and we read to him to make sure for education reasons. 

"that's true, I'll let Leon know next thing in the morning." the prince says and i closed my eye as the prince pulled out an adult book. he put the kid's book back on the nightstand. I was tired of sure and i was falling into darkness. i felt the prince rub my hair slowly which wasn't helping.

(prince William perspective) 

it was the next day and i was in my bed with charlie sleeping with pillows surrounding him. the princess was also sleeping but she was sleeping the other way. i had my nap earlier and today i decided training will wait till tomorrow. i want my pack to rest once in a while. i have informed Leon about moving in with us and he started to move in today. he was unpacking as fin was napping in the second master bedroom we have in the mansion. it was made for my parents in case they wanted to stay here and visit. they just visit and leave the same day. 

"hey alpha, were all moved in," Leon whispered as he creaked the door opened. i looked up from my book and smiled as i put my book away getting off my bed slowly without waking up charlie and the princess. "sorry to disturb, looks like your enjoying your daily life so far." Leon said as i walked out of the bedroom quietly. 

"Yeah, it's all good. so how your mate liking the mansion?" i asked and Leon leaned against the wall beside our room door. I left the door slightly open so i can watch over charlie and the princess while i talk to Leon. "I'm glad your family is safe now, so what's the plan now that we're all in safe measures?" i asked and Leon started to think. i heard charlie start to cry so i jogged into the room snd went to charlie who was about cry. i carried charlie in my arms and i cradled him walking out the room leaving the door open tp watch princess in case she wakes up. 

"she enjoys the mission and fin loves it more. he like the big house compared to our small house." Leon said as he chulked to me struggling to keep charlie from crying. i hate Leon for this as this isn't the first time he saw me with charlie. 

"shh quiet down charlie, daddy is here. that good to hear. fin can play with charlie too so the princess doesn't use all energy playing with charlie." i say and Charlie started to clam down. he was whispering as i wipe the tears out his face. i saw kyle walking up to us and he put a thumbs up. I and Leon walked to the baby room so charlie can play happily. kyle stayed near my room watching over the princess guarding her. 

"that also a good thing. fin is three but he knows charlie is a baby. he also knows how to calm down a baby too. it's great my mate teach fin well. my mate actually wants number two soon as soon fin turns four. you know fin birthday is near and fin know it." Leon said we walked into the baby room. i sat on the floor with charlie in my lap. Leon gave charlie a puzzle toy smiling. we got charlie's tons of learning toys. charlie screamed and he started to play figuring out the puzzle. 

"there going to be the best of friends. i want number two after maybe when charlie gets to the same age. i want three at the best so the princess should be ready to take care of three kids." i say looking at Leon who shook his head. "i like two too but i want a big family as i grew up with a brother. i always wanted a little brother but that didn't happen." i say and charlie screamed more and he was really enjoying the puzzle he was playing with. just then i saw fin walking in the baby room and Leon smiled as fin went into Leon's lap sleepy. looks like he woke up from his nap. 

"hey, fin buddy. want to play with charlie while dad talks to his alpha?" Leon asked and fin smiled ash e got off Leon lap and went to the other side of the puzzle charlie was playing. he started to teach charlie how to do the puzzle. "what school plans do you have with Charlie? i know you're teaching him at an early age to talk and read. soon to write as it's better when he starts school and he's smarter than every other kid in his class. fin was the same when he started school." Leon said and i shook my head. 

"depends on the process of the south and if they push the war. homeschool it is but i can put him in a private school i went to. i want him to go to the best school. my father says the same." i say and Leon looked shocked with his mouth open. what does he expect? i was raised in a royal family. 

"that should not surprise me but I'm still shooked. just hoe he doesn't;t rebel again you, when he grows up, is such school if you know what i mean?" Leon questioned and i knew what he meant. i did mess around a little when i was in high school after i couldn't find my mate. i stopped after i started my prince duties and i stuck with that. 

"i just hope he doesn't rebel against me," i say and looking at charlie playing with fin teaching him how to play with his puzzle toys. he even got a book to ready with charlie. fin can read somewhat good and read with Charlie will teach him ho to teach him in the future. i want the best for Charlie, the same for my next future kids I'll have.

(maria ann's perspective) 

"luna, tell us when you are tried. the alpha doesn't think you should be out for too long." Leon said near me and Jordan in front of me. i had charlie in my arms in a cloth supporting my shoulders as we walked around the town in a nearby market. Leon wanted fin to come but he was napping and his mate didn't want him out at this time. i want to see what the town has cough fresh and see the fishers. it was good for charlie to see what the town looks like at a young age. 

"i will and i know you're happy that your outside exploring for once. the prince has been saying how you all hate walking around the town as a group guarding the town," i say and Leon and Jordan looked at each other rolling there eyes. the prince knows everything about his pack of course. 

"the alpha listens to all of us whenever he can. i mean we want to just run around the forest and walk around the town enjoying our time. this time around we have to guard and be extra careful. some we wish we can shop without the prince yelling to us not doing our responsibility." Jordan says and i do feel bad for them. ian complains about the prince his older brother being strict like there father but i mean he's an alpha and ian joined the pack for a reason. 

"well tough time are bound to happen so of course there some days or months for strict rules. the prince wants to not go to war and he's trying his best to not go there," i say and i stopped at a shop with homemade toys. charlie smiled and he started to reach for the toy. the person smiled as she noticed me and saw charlie. she gave me a car wood toy that had rolling wheels. 

"for sure, will the alpha above of this?" Leon said and he picked up a plane wood toy. Jordan was looking out and looking around and i pulled out money to buy the car and plane Leon had. i know charlie and fin will enjoy playing with these together. the person running the shop grabbed the money and she nodded as i left the car toy with charlie and Leon was holding the plane toys in his hands. 

"This is homemade and plus the prince says he trusts the people. I'm sure he'll approve of this," i say and charlie started to nibble on the woof car. charlie doesn't teeth often but when he does i stop him. my mom gave me a teeth toy just in case this happens that goes on his hand. "no charlie, no biting." i say and i grabbed the car toy from charlie who start to cry but he stopped as soon as i put the teething toy on his hand. he stared at it and just started to bite it as most babies do. 

"i wish i had such toys when fin was born, you know i;m just glad i joined the alphas pack at the time," Leon says and he grabbed the car toy from me as we're walking back toward the mansion broader line where no one can enter. it has been an hour since we left and walked around. just then a small boy around seven years old. he jogged up to us with his mother behind him embarrassed. 

"Hello, can i meet the baby?" the little asked, and Jordan right away moved near me and stood in front of me. he looked around seven and he had a big smile on his face. he's not the first to ask and i love to show charlie. the thing is the prince said no one can touch him as he's scared of him getting sick and i can agree to that. Leon stood behind me guarding me behind my back.

"oh sure but no touching okay? you're not allowed to touch him," i say and his mother catches up to him. she stood near him going to her knees. Jordan stood near me as i went to show charlie giggling and chewing on his chew toy. he looked at the little boy who's smile grew bigger. 

"no touching okay honey." the little boy's mother said as she was also looking at charlie smiling. just then the little boy put out his hand and went to reach for charlie's hand. Jordan right away put his hand in front of charlie as the little boy's hand was close to charlie. the little boy frowned. i right away went back and held charlie close to my chest. 

"no touching remember?" Jordan says and the boy frowned even more. he was going to explode at any minute. Leon steps up and he talks to Jordan in his head. i know as he looked at Jordan who nodded. Jordan leans in close to me as Leon stood in front of me. "let go home now, Leon will take care of this." Jordan whispered and i nodded as charlie started to fall to sleep in my arms. Leon gave Jordan the car and plane wood toys. I and Jordan started to walk but then the little boy started to yell to the top of his lungs.

"i want to touch the baby! mommy i want to touch the baby!" the little turned to his mother and his mother sighed as she grabbed his hand. Leon stood strong as the little boy trying to push his way through by his mother stood strong too and held him back. Jordan and i walked past the chain to the path of the mansion. 

"no touching honey, let go. your father is waiting for us." the mother says and drags the little boy who was still trying to pull away from his other grip but she was staying strong. Leon sighed as he walked behind us.

"Just wait till the alpha finds out, he'll be mad but it just a kid. charlie will throw a fit like that too at one point after he grows up." Jordan says as he looked at me. i just sighed and i knew that too. how will i and the prince will handle that, the future will tell.

(prince William perspective) 

i put the last of the documents i had to finish. i wanted to go see Charlie and the princess who is in the room playing or charlie is napping. i started to clean up and then kyle walked in my study with a note in his hand. i knew it was from the south as kyle had a serious face. 

"from the south?" i questioned and kyle nodded as he handles the note to me. i just grabbed it and went to read it right away. kyle was next to me and he closed my eyes as i started to read. "hello, this the prince of the south. i hope you are doing well. congrats to your firstborn son also congrats to finding your mate. she is beautiful and i do have a mate. i like her but i also don't want her. i haven't mated with her but do have fun with other women that will satisfy me. i took an interest in your mate and i would mind your son ether as he looks cute..." there were more details but i don't want to read those out loud as kyle was listening. he knows not to read a note without me as we work together since day one. 

"It looks like we have to protect the luna again and that includes charlie." kyle says and i sighed as i knew i had to protect them and the princess s not going to be happy about this news. i put the note on my desk and kyle looked at me as i started to think. 

"I'll think of a plan after i talk to the princess. for now, let prep the pack into the group and I'll contact ken about that same thing. not sure i should tell him about the whole south of the prince wanting princess. "gather the pack in the dining room. we have to talk about this now." i say and get up from my seat. Kyle nodded as he walked out of my study. looks like I'll be working for a little longer. hope the princess doesn't mind. 

we had a two-hour meeting and i got back to my room. i walked in to see the princess reading a book to charlie on the bed. charlie noticed me and he screamed for my attention. i smiled as i walked to Charlie and took him into my arms. i kissed charlie's head and charlie giggled as he reaches for my tire i was wearing. he was playing with my tie as the prince got off the bed and she kissed my cheek. 

"How was your day? you look tired," she says and i nodded as charlie started to eat my tie. the princess stopped him and she gave him his chew toy she had on her. he started to chew his few toys and touch my hair not pulling it which is good. 

"I'll talk to you about it after we put charlie to sleep.," i say and lean in kissing the princess sweetly before charlie pulled on my hair for real. "ow! okay, let play baby boy." i say and i pulled my hair out of charlie's grip. he giggled and i went to the bed with the princess behind me. i laid him down and we started to play with charlie with all the toys he has in our room. most of his toys are in his baby room. it took another good two hours for charlie to fall asleep. it was eight pm and i went to change into my pj's before i joined the princess in bed waiting for me. 

"so what happened William? i know you got another note from the south since i saw the hawk put it on our balcony." the princess says and looks at me with worried eyes. i put my hand on her thigh over the cover as i enter the bed. "charlie pointed it out and i got kyle to grab it as charlie was just a curious boy. he was starting to cry when kyle left with he notes but i clam him down." the princess says and i smiled as i can see that happen. 

"the prince of the south wants you and charlie. he has a mate but for now, he doesn't want her. i don't want to lose you. i trust ken but now i have the prince of the south going after you too. what did i do to deserve a beautiful woman like you." i say and put my hand on the princess's cheeks and the princess smiled as i lean in to kiss her sweetly. 

"you got me by surprise. you know i won't go anywhere, I'll stay here and find my way home if i get taken," the princess said as she leans in and pecks my lips. i pulled her close to me and looked charlie sleeping peacefully. i have a family how and no way the prince of the south is ruining it. i have to talk to my father about this, h should have some advice for me. some for Leon as he had his own family too. if war, war it is.
