Chapter 3 - Landing

~ A few days ago ~

Gray was sitting in the airplane being so nervous. He did not know what he will find, but he had to leave. He was soon to inherit the crown of the biggest pack in the world, the Sacred Moon Light pack, but he had to do something before that, and he took matters into his own hands. At 27 years old, Grayson Dacre, the future most powerful Alpha in Europe was going to seek revenge and earn his right to his father's throne. He was seeking the oldest vampire in the world, Ze. The vampire that decimated entire clans and smaller wolf packs, just for pleasure and probably revenge, he was not sure. But now he was exactly in his footsteps and he was more than ready to capture and kill that bastard.

His parents had no clue about his vendetta because otherwise, they would have stopped him from this mad quest. He just gave them a stupid reason that he wanted to leave like he wants to try college in the USA and his father gave him a grip and his mother a laugh. In other normal families, this was seen as a good chance for the young to gather some experience. But not in his family. Even though his parents let him run free until a certain age he started a few years now to get seriously ready for the role he will inherit. He was ready to do it. That is why his parents let it be this time, but only with the promise that he will go to university. He should have the time to find his purpose in life and continue his studies.

But he was not young, nor in a normal family. He was the Alpha's Prince, and the future king of the biggest pack known. Therefore, it was hard for him to get the blessing of his parents, almost impossible, and only for a certain period, and with two bodyguards that were like a pair of rottweilers ready to grab anyone's neck just because they looked at them. Gray looked over his shoulder at the two of them. Yap, they had that air. Gray smiled softly. He had inherited some of his mom's humor but definitely, his dad's looks. Tall, all muscles with a little bit of effort, and one-of-a-kind pair of eyes. One green and the other one blue. When he was small, his nanny told him that this will be how his soulmate will find his way toward him. He shook his head not believing he is thinking that nonsense. The fiance Cindy, that was chosen for him when she was born, was waiting back at home for his return and finally getting married. She did wait for him for 25 long years. Grabbed the chair and waited for the plane to land. His best friend Scott, and last bodyguard if things would escalate at that point, was sitting somewhere behind. Gray closed his eyes and took advantage of the last minutes of quiet. He was sure the moment they will be again his friend who was thinking he was funny would do the most unfunny jokes

Arriving at the airport gave him the impression that he was in a good place. He asked his friend:

“Did you find somewhere to stay?”

His friend smiled back:

“Depends on where you would like to stay! You haven't said if you want to stay covered or to look directly at the sky.” his friends said.

Gray rolled his eyes making his friend smile

“I think this air makes you so amusing”

Therefore, his best friend thought that the best way to keep him interested in the school would be to live nearby.

They grabbed a cab and went to the new apartment that Scott rented for them.

While going up to the apartment a soothing feeling started to calm him. He was feeling like he had drunk a few cups of calming tea. 'Hmmm', he thought, 'Is like I arrived home. So silly'

They were to share an apartment on the last floor with full privacy. On some good days, they wouldn’t know about each other there.

A few days went by and were the last week before curses were to start. Gray thought was a good idea to go see what he could study. He wasn’t naïve to think he could stay more than 6 months. His father told him very well that he will abdicate the next year and will be obliged to take the crown.

Gray was sitting in front of a tall mirror in his room, looking at his reflection. He was wearing a suit because he was a more classic type of guy and wanted to impress the principal. He let his head a bit on one side and thought, his eyes would impress the principal. He wouldn’t need to get dressed in any way. He heard that as long as he remembered, his eyes are unique and impressive at first sight. He was having two different colors in both eyes. One was green, the other one blue. While looking at his reflection with a critical eye he remembered the words of his nanny.

“Boy, you don’t have these eyes by mistake. They are a sign, when you will be at the proper age, you will know.”

He lost his nanny around the age he wouldn’t need one anymore, but her words remained engraved in his memory.

“Hey, are you remaining to have a party in three, or leaving already?” Scott yelled from the terrasse.

Gray smiled, his friend will never change, he thought. He needs a really special woman to help him in this direction.

He waved his hand while passing the terrasse. His friend was making ready champagne in ice and the last touches for a lunch in two.

Gray entered his private elevator and relaxed. While watching the numbers going down he was thinking about his romantic life. He had his fair share of ladies but now he wanted just to be alone. His friend was making fun of him but he had this feeling for a while now, and none was enough. Something was missing.

Out of nowhere, the elevator stopped. On the screen he saw the 6th floor, now he was thinking, did he press the 6th floor by mistake? The doors opened and he saw someone running towards him. He froze. He started to sweat and his knees were like jelly. ‘That girl!’ his inner voice had screamed. And the elevator doors closed. That was the moment he woke from the trance he was in. ‘What the hell?’ he thought.

‘What was that?’
