Chapter 4 - Weakness

Rose was hearing Tina but was so distanced. It was sure that is her best friend that was calling her name, but she was feeling like she was under the water and could not rise with her head above it. She could not move for a few short minutes. For the last minutes, panic started to clench in her chest but she decided that she needs to get out of this state and be alone, slowly she managed to calm herself, and easy to come back. She was feeling really tired, it was like she had run around the block a few times widout the possibility to stop. She could feel Tina grabbing her hand to pull her up but with no effect. Slowly Rose raised alone. And gasped. Tears started to run down her face.

Tia grabbed her hands and shake her off. That was the moment Rose realized she was crying.

"Rose, you scared me!" Tia said almost whispering. "What happened to you? Are you ok? You want that we return?" and she continued, "I should have never obliged you to go out of the house so soon!" Tia almost started crying at the sight of her friend. The guilt was clenching her neck and she wasn't able to stop her own tears. She was feeling absolutely miserable. She didn't even care that they were looking really odd in the middle of the halway, near the elevator, crying in each other arms.

Rose was in shock and wasn’t able yet to talk. She could only think about the guy she saw. It was like she knew him. And missed him! For God's sake! And the feeling seemed so real that her heart was hurting inside her chest.

She tried to say a few words because she saw her friend was really scared about how she had found her, but it took a bit longer than she wanted before she could round up a few words.

"I am ok Tis, nothing happened. I just had a moment of weakness."

Tina looked at her like a second head had grown on her neck,

" A moment of weakness? You scared the hell out of me! I cannot stop shacking..." she ended with a more softer voice.

It wasn’t in her nature to lie to her friend but what she could say? She, herself, wasn’t able to explain what just happened.

Then Tia came up with a suggestion,

"Let's go back, Rose. You are not ready to go out yet if you had this fall."

Rose almost flipped at this idea.

"No!" she said a bit to harsh, but she did not cared anymore.

"Let’s go! I need to go out!" and took her friends hand without giving her any chance to say no.

Tia looked at her a bit suspiciously like she would melt at her feet any minute now, but she let Rose almost grab her.

Rose was having her reason to go out of the building quickly, but she wasn't having any hope to meet him again after she had lost those minutes coming back to reality. Although, she was having a small hope. A small hope that she could still see that stranger that placed her world upside down in just a few minutes.

She called the elevator, as she was supposed to do the first time and it arrived in no time. Will going down the elevator she became so nervous. She was having these thoughts constantly, 'What was that?, Who is him? I have never seen him in this building'. The question were rollong in her head and more she was having, more she was feeling like a head acke was comeing.

She wasn't a believer in love at first sight, like a future psychologist, but even she was to admit that something really strange happened. And she did not like strange and odd. She was into facts. She was needing facts in order to have her mind in order.

They went out right away after the elevator stopped but Rose didn't see the guy. It was like she was almost waiting for him to wait her in the lobby and make the presentations. She looked after him in all the parts, but no trace of him. A saddness covered her heart but she would't have recognised her in front of no one. That why she was trying to hide it from Tia.

Tia looked at Rose with an eyebrow raised,

"Are you looking for someone?" she asked. " Maybe a medic to check you out?"

Rose wasn’t just ready to share what happened to her so decided to just avoid the answer

"I thought I saw someone from school but I think that my eyes were playing tricks. I don't need a doctor for a little fall" And she displayed a forced smile.

Tia didn’t believe her not even for a second but let her be. She was just hoping that what just happened will not happen again. She would have been the worst friend if she would have leave something to happen to her dear friend.

After she made sure the guy wasn't there, but not knowing for sure what will she would do if he was, she asked Tia,

"Where to now?"

Tia took a face like apologies and said to her,

"I know I said we will go shopping but coming out of the apartment I got a call from Ana, the secretary from school asking me to help her out with some papers. Is a half-hour work, tops, then we can go make some shopping if you would like to come with me?"

Her face was looking very apologetic.

Rose smiled at her, genuinely this time.

"For sure I will come with you. You promised me today a day out so you won’t escape that easy."

Tia smiled and took Rose by arm heading to university to help a good friend from the time she worked half-time to pay for her school.
