Chapter Eleven

I sat anxiously on our bed. It had been three hours since the boys went down to the basement. I couldn't imagine taking three hours. I hated this more than anything else. innocent people are being punished just to figure out who the traitor is. " Baby girl, can you try and relax?" Jayden asked over mind link " How can I be calm at a time like this?" I asked. "Hayden will be up in a sec to sit with you." " Why just Hayden?" " Kayden and I have some business to tend to just now. Remember, we love you, baby girl." Jayden closed off the mindlink. Hayden joined me on our bed a shot time later. " Did they tell you anything?" I asked, hoping that we could put an end to the torment. Hayden shook his head sadly. " Whoever did it isn't budging on this." " Should we do it my way now?" Hayden frowned. " Not yet, Luna. I don't like it either, but this is what Jayden thinks is best. To keep your gift hidden." I crossed my arms sulking. I was not happy with this plan, but this time, Jayden has really put his foot down on this one. Though I understood his point, I hated hurting anyone. My pack was important to me, and I felt compelled to protect everyone in it. That included the girls. It went against everything in me to allow this to happen. I sighed and got up and went to my library. Right now, I just wanted to be alone. As if sensing, I need some time, Hayden stayed back in the room and let me go. I was sitting quietly in one of the chairs when the boys came in. Jayden looked upset when he placed his hand in mine. " I don't like this baby girl. If I can't break them by tomorrow, I will do things your way. Just know they know something all of them so they are not completely innocent even if it's not them. They know who it is and are protecting them." I nodded my understanding. I felt a little better that we may be doing it my way, but the damage was already done to them girls. There was a light knock at the door as Hayden popped his head into the room. " Shelby wants a meeting with all of us. Including you, Zendrea," Hayden said stiffly. I nodded and got up to follow Hayden. Jayden grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. " I know you are upset with me, princess, but please try and understand. I did what I thought was best." My heart contracted with seeing his pain. I kissed him lightly. He smiled and took my hand while Hayden took my other hand. We stepped into the office where Kayden and Shelby were waiting for us. She turned as we walked in, lowering her head in submission. " Okay, we are all here now. What can we do for you, Shelby," Kayden asked. "I have information for you and proof to back it up." She handed over a folder. "These are conversations between Rebecca and the Alpha of Midnight Moon Rodney. She is the traitor. I know my sister thinks she's doing the right thing by keeping quiet, but I can't sit by and let innocent people get hurt because of this." I took one of the pages from the folder and began to read it. Rebecca: Meet me tonight at our spot just beyond our border. They don't suspect me at all. Rodney: I will be there, Luna. Rebecca: I can't wait to see you ❤️ My mate. And we will destroy this packs future Luna. I will show you how to get in so you and the guys can take her out. That position rightfully belongs to my friend Brittany, and no little orphaned cow is going to take it from her. Rodney: I have the perfect plan for our girl. We will force mate her to one of my guys. Once she is mated to someone else, there will no longer be a connection to those boys. Rebecca: Yes, let's do that. I was set to just unalivimg her, but I like this plan better. My face paled. I never realized how truly dark and sadistic she was until now. The fact that she was willing to go that far spoke volumes. Jayden slipped his arm around my waist, pulling me protectively against him. " No one is going to hurt our Luna." His eyes fogged over an indication he was mind linking someone. Jared and Zane walked in. Jayden handed the paper to Zane and Jared. Read this. to much to explain. Two low growls tore from their chest. " I will guard her with my life. Let him come," said a very pissed off Jared. " We will put a 24-hour watch with her. Jared and Rosilinda can be with her in the morning." " I will also be with her," said Jayden. "The more, the better. Keep the warriors close, though, just in case we need to defend ourselves." Jayden disappeared down into the basement and released the other girls. Rebecca was left down in the basement. Betraying your Alpha and your pack meant death. Of course, putting her to death meant war with Midnight Moon. Was that really something we were ready for? Was that really something we was willing to chance.I wondered if there was a better way other than putting my pack at risk. I sat in the library trying to think of a better solution than death for Rebecca when Kayden came in and Sar next to me. "What is my princess thinking about so hard?" "Kayden, if we kill Rebecca, that's asking for a war. Do we really want to risk the pack right now? Is there no other way?" Kayden frowned. He thought for a moment before speaking. "Well, we could cast her out and make her a rouge, but that would give her the freedom to join her mate, and war would come anyway." "True, but what about doing neither but keeping her locked in the pack house working? We will send word as long as he leaves this pack alone she will remain alive. Use her against him?" "I don't like the idea of her being anywhere near you. She has already proven the leanth she is about to go, but let's talk to Jayden get his take on this."
