Chapter Twelve

I sat in the office waiting for Jayden and Hayden to come in so we could discuss my idea. Kayden was completely against my idea, but he had to admit it made sense. It's the only thing that made sense. He stood next to the window arms crossed over his chest. I couldn't help but take in his strength and be in awe of him. Soon, Jayden and Hayden walked in. My heart went erratic at the sight of my mates, and I couldn't help the smile that played at the corner of my mouth. Butterflies erupted in my stomach as Jayden walked toward me and pulled me to his chest, sniffing my hair.
"So what did we need to talk about?" asked Hayden.
"Our Luna here wants to keep that cow around as a servant. Use her to prevent war." said Kayden. Jayden and Hayden frowned.
"Hear me out," I said. "If we kill her, we start a war. If we turn her rogue, she joins up with her mate, and again, a war is started. What if we keep her here and tell him no harm will come to her as long as he backs off."
" That may work for a short time. Enough to buy us some time. But as any Alpha would, he will eventually come for his Luna."
I nodded my understanding.
"Maybe that little time was all we need to gather our allies."
"Maybe. I will send word to our three allied packs. Dark River Pack, Black moon pack, and New moon pack. We will trust our brothers in arms to aid us in our time. Until then, we continue our training."
I sighed. There was no way around this war. lives will be lost. Our pack is strong, but so is our enemy and twice as many members as we have. We would be greatly outnumbered without the aid of our allied packs. Without them, our pack would fall. Somehow, though, I knew our brothers would join us.
We got word from Dark River pack about three days later. Alpha Jonah would be there, and he looked forward to meeting his friends new Luna. A day later, we got word from the new moon. Alpha Leon had been looking for any reason to attack our enemy pack. Two days later, the final response we were waiting for responded. Black moon pack wouldn't miss an opportunity for a good fight. In fact, Alpha Hunter was quite excited about having something to do. His exact words were, "Things have been far too quiet." All three packs would be arriving in a weeks time so we could coordinate and train together.
Hayden had ordered the workers to get the three guest pack houses ready. Each pack had their own houses for when they visited as they were so close with our pack. Many of our members had found their mates among their packs.
The day of the packs arrival loomed closer. I could feel the intensity in the air. I paced my room back and forth. Something was coming. Something big. I turned to see my friend Lindsey resting against the door frame.
"Girl, stop pacing. You're creating a draft. " I couldn't help but giggle at her antics.
"What has you so nervous?" She asked, resting a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm not sure. But Selena is on high alert. Something is coming."
"You mean something besides the three packs and the inevitable war?"
I nodded. Jayden came over mindlink
"Is everything okay? My wolf Maddox said Selena is very anxious."
"I'm not sure. Something is about to happen. I just don't know what."
The day our allies were expected to arr8ve had come . I was a bit nervous since I had never met the other Alphas. Three black SUVs pulled up in front of the pack house. One by one, three large alpha males exited the SUVs. One by one, they stepped up to shake my hand.
"Hello Zendrea, I'm Hunter. It's so nice to meet you." He stepped aside so the next Alpha in line could step forward.
"Zendrea, I'm Leon."I smiled shyly and shook his hand.
The last Alpha stepped forward. A look of shock covered his features as he looked at you.
"Marisol?" I looked at him confused. I knew nothing of anyone named Marisol.
" My name is Zendrea." He shook his head.
" No, you look , much like my mother to not be her." I took his features in more closely and realized we had the same eyes. We shared the same cleft chin. Kayden speed forward.
"Perhapse, we can have this conversation in our office." Jonah nodded. Selena was drawn to him and his wolf. So there was something there.
I sat across from Alpha Jonah, who kept looking at me in awe. He shook his head as if to clear his thoughts.
"I guess I should start from the beginning old friend," Johna said, looking at Jayden.
"As you have heard, I once had a twin sister. What no one out aide the family knows Marisol was kidnapped when we were a week old. They lost her scent at the edge of pur borders. Your new Luna resembles our mother. So I apologize if I startled her."
"Zendrea, are your parents your birth parents?" Hayden asked. I stared at him wide-eyed.
"No, actually, they found me wrapped in a blanket crying just beyond our borderes. there was no one around when they found me. It was freezing, so they brought me home and took me in. Alpha Dom accepted me as part of the pack and swore we would tell no one I was adopted so that way I would fit in better with the pack." Kayden turned toward Zane.
"Go get the pack, doctor. Tell him we need a DNA test done."
"Yes, Alpha," Zane said, turning and walking out of the office. Jayden placed his hand on my shoulder.
"I know this may not be easy for you. We are all here for you." I looked around the room and felt an intense urge to be next to Jonah. So I went and sat next to him. Being close to him calmed Selena down and made her more at ease.
