Chapter 7: A Day with Him.
--
Days have passed and it's already weekends so I started my training to summon Virgo. Bored yet irritated of how Clim made me wait for this long. It's been almost an hour from our agreed time, if only this isn't the only way. Good thing that this place is secluded, it's an open field near our school building.
"What's taking him so long?!"
I sat on a log frustrated, thinking of what I just found out. Who would've thought that I'm in another world?! Yesterday, out of curiosity I went to the library to read some stuff. I found a book about humans and it showed our connection to those Astrals beings. It was a big help but there are still things bothering me, one of those knowing the fact that I'm somewhere in space invisible to the human eye. Near the shining beautiful stars in the universe, how the prick am I gonna get home?!
Also one of the reasons why I'm enduring all this is to extract information. If I get strong enough I'd have authority and I can use my power as a Zodiante to extract information from anyone. With enough power and knowledge maybe, just maybe I can go home. Clim would be a starter pack, he must know something for sure! Austin can't probably go to Earth without a certain machine.
I also found informations about the Umbrals, their the enemies of the Astrals. They also have the power to summon celestial spirits but their using it in evil ways. The Astrals are scared to be defeated, that's why they need me. From what I've read, those Umbrals has some kind of trump card in their sleeves to make the Astrals cower in fear. I have the power to summon Virgo, they need the 12 of us Zodiantes to activate a spell. I feel sympathy for them, I know that they need me but it's not right it kidnap me. I really don't know why would a star choose me? I'm not special, I even hate stars!
"Hey human, come over here!" That certain husky voice made me jump out of shock.
I looked his way and walked with lethargicly towards him, he looked irritated just by looking at me.
"What are we gonna?"
"Well, you need to train and summon Virgo."
"How am I gonna do that?"
"First, you need to summon your key." I looked at him, hinting he should spill it.
"How?" We both looked like fools that are forced to talk to each other.
"You need to imagine your self holding one." He replied before a diamond key appeared before his hand.
I followed what he said, I concentrated thinking of a diamond key. I remained silent for minutes thinking of a diamond key. I thought a thousand reasons why I needed it before I could realize it I could feel something between my palms. Joy was the written all over my face as I achieved it. I could literally sell this for a million dollars and live a wealthy life but that's not how the world works.
"Oh, you're not stupid." He said expressionless.
"I'm not stupid just because I'm human and yey! This is so easy." I blurted, I really thought I'd have a hard time doing that.
"Just some luck." I pouted at him, his racist acts will not persuade me.
"What's next?"
"Well, you need to find a connection with your celestial spirit. You need to talk to Goddess Virgo before she could come out. Concentrate like what you did in summoning the key, it's that easy for you right?"
I followed what he said hoping that it would be easy but nothing happened. I tried to find that connection he was referring to but I felt nothing. I'm pretty sure his bored right now, well it's his fault he didn't even try to talk to me. So, I minded my own business.
"It's been 2 hours, you still couldn't do anything to summon Goddess Virgo. Your got lucky and summoned your key in minutes, keep practicing. I'll be going, don't forget to practice on your own." I heard his voice as I continued meditating, his footsteps were heard as he past by.
I stayed in my position, I wanted to probe him wrong that it wasn't just luck. I spent my remaining time concentrating, hoping to talk to Virgo even though I couldn't picture out her image.
--
"He just did what?! How could he leave you in that secluded field alone! What if something bad happened to you?! Clim is such an ungentleman, just because he's superior than you he thinks he can that?!" Jyshyr's continuous shouting and rants along the hallways seemed like she owned the place.
"Just let him be, he might be busy."
"Busy? Yeah, the only thing he did is to vex everyone he sees, all of his attention should be on you because you're the only one that's left behind. Fear not Jamnia, I'll be the one teaching you forget that jerk!"
"Thank you, I wish I'll learn something." I said sarcastically as I giggled.
"Of course you WILL and it'll be in a hard way."
Jyshyr was still furious as we entered the classroom. Just like last time the place was deafeningly silent as the taught the lessons. It's about the history of Virgo and how she became a constellation.
"Any of you know trivias about our precious Goddess Virgo?" Our teacher asked, and yeah they consider the 12 Zodiac signs as Gods and Goddesses.
Each person here in our school has a Zodiac sign which makes us different and unique from one another. Each signs has to go in the same class, there will be subjects that they have to be with another zodiac signs like our combat class.
Many raised their hands Jyshyr was one of them, on the otherhand I belong to the few who couldn't bother less. But unlucky me I was picked, I faked up the smile I've given my teacher and stood there nervously.
"She's a m-maiden and a virgin."
"Know your manners Ms. Tualla."
"I mean, Goddess Virgo is a maiden aswell as a virgin." I stood up and answered more fluently.
"How ungrateful, that's the only thing she could say about Goddess Virgo."
"She thinks being shy would make her attractive, like ewww!"
"Playing innocent, maybe she's not a virgin anymore."
"You may sit Ms. Tualla." I immediately sat trying not mindi their comments. Their comments doesn't matter, I will gain nothing from it.
"Most of you might know about this story but I know some of you might not know about this and it crucial to our lesson." Ma'am Dela Cruz said looking at me, I just tried to smile.
I gave all of my attention to the discussion, I don't want my name to be called again. I also need to learn something about their beliefs to understand them more.
"It all started in a place where stars are the main attraction of a certain village. Goddess Virgo was a beautiful maiden who was almost admired by everyone, her beauty doesn't fade. Years past and everyone in grew old but she did not, many people made rumors of her being a witch. Still many young men wanted to date her but she refused to, she only had admiration to a certain man who sadly was already married. She choose to stay single and reserved but a guy who was obsessed by her charm and beauty took a shoot to get her virginity. She tried to escape but she couldn't instead she ended her life using a grain of rice. Goddess Virgo died virgin, the stars saw her and took pity on her. She was brought to the sky, and a constellation was formed."
[Author's note: I just made that up so it's cliche and stuff. I don't want to be accused of plagiarism.]
I was moved by the story of Virgo, it's frustrating that her story turned out to be tragic. She was too loyal and beautiful, everyone wants have her or be her. Being perfect has it's own downside huh?
After our lesson ended I headed to my next class, I sighed before entering. Out of all my classes this is the hardest to deal with, I can't even make friends.
