May and Adam silently made their way back up to the deck, as aggressive growls and snarling started to erupt from the control room of the cruise liner. They reached up to grab the top deck railing, peering out over the deck, while keeping low to the ground to not give away their position. An intense roar expelled over the cruise liner as three extremely large wolves broke through the glass of the control room. One she recognized immediately, he was the largest, brown fur, bright yellow eyes and a white swirl pattern across his back - a wind runner wolf. A werewolf who pledged himself to the earth mother rather than the moon goddess. May and the Wolf had fought together before, only about 6 months ago, taking down an extremely strong Vampire Duke. And protecting a witch in the process. His name was Emmerson Knight and his wolf was Cypress. The other wolves were black with glowing blue eyes. The smaller older one May recognized his scent from the docks in New York City, The younger black wolf, smelt liked the older ones son. The younger wolf lunged at the older wolf and was able to snatch hold of his ear before ripping it off. The scent of the vampires and vampiric sirens got stronger as they stepped out of hiding places and started attacking the other two wolves. Defending the older one. It looked like the two younger wolves were going to have a hard time defeating them all. But a massive gust of intense wind pushed multiple vampires off the edge of the cruise liner protecting them. Adam didn't hesitate he jumped over the guard rails and shot the vampires who were caught up in the wind. It was the witch. Elodie Swinton. She could control the wind at her whim, and was wanted by the Krsnk. She was the daughter of the Original Vampire and was in a prophecy that she and her sisters would defeat him.
She shouldn't be here, she's too important. May thought I told her to lie low! It was too late to object now. May had to protect her at all costs.
"Red! Baby! Did you miss me? I'm flattered, darl, but a phone call would have been fine, you didn't need to come to an infested vampire cruise liner to find me"! Adam yelled out to Elodie over the wind.
May's stomach turned with second-hand embarrassment. Just get her out of here! May thought.
Trying to take as many vampires as she could, the vampiric sirens were a lot harder. Taking 3-5 more shots than the normal vampires.
The young black wolf found an opening and was able to take down the older wolf, snapping at his throat. The amount that poured out of the wolf distracted the vampires for a good amount of time, enough that they could all take down a lot of them.
"MAY!" Elodie called out as a siren vampire crashed tackled May from behind. They both hit the ground. May struggled against the thing that was on her back. It was extremely powerful, gripping May tight, sinking their claws deep into her skin. May attempted to claw back at it, and tried to get the siren off her. But it wasn't budging. Suddenly it's grasp weakened and it was all dead weight. She rolled over shoving the monster off her and standing up.
Zach was standing there holding his gun, aiming it at her. His chest rose up and down as he was out of breath, his eyes wide as he looked at her. Another vampire came out from over the rails lunging across for May and Zach shot at that one too. May started to regain her breath and shot the next vampire that came for him. Their guns firing like an unspoken agreement that they were now in this together and both entered the fight, taking down vampire after vampire as they kept coming.
"Elodie! May called out to her. "There are too many of them! You need to get off the ship, it's going to blow!"
Elodie nodded at her through the chaos of the fight and disappeared back to a room on the side of the ship, and then reappeared with a very young blonde woman who looked absolutely terrified. They hurried across the deck, narrowing escaping vampires and sirens grasps May could smell the girls blood, it did have magical properties but not nearly enough as Elodie. It couldn't be one of her sisters, she thought.
May tried to follow them, defending them from the relentless number of vampires and sirens coming after them.
"So Zach!" Adam yelled at him over the gun fire.
"Are you obsessed with our May because you realised how awesome she is despite shooting your dad?"
May turned back in horror as Zach turned and shot Adam in the chest. Adam staggered back and fell over the rail.
"ADAM!" May screamed and the world for her fell silent. She jumped the rail and went after him, not being able to catch him as he crashed into the lower deck.
"Adam! Adam!" May held him in her arms, shaking him for him to answer her. Her heart was racing and she could already sense Adam fading. It was a reinforced metal bullet - deadly to vampires, and it hit him straight in the chest and into his left coronary artery. The virus was already dying off at a rapid rate, his veins were turning black.
"You need to protect her".He grunted out in barely a whisper.
"Yes, Red, I will I will protect her."
"No, Ivy."
"Wait whose Ivy?.... Adam! ADAM!" But there was no use, his heart was turning to ash and his lifeless body was becoming stiff.
The sight of a young woman with bright red hair pulled May's attention off her friend. The woman seemed to appear out of nowhere. She approached them cautiously. She was dressed completely in white. May could barely make her out through her tears as she hugged and rocked her dear friend's lifeless body.
"Adam?" The girl said, fear hanging in her voice.
The girl reached out and touched the side of his face. The girl let out a wail of a scream that rang in May's ears, deafening her. May gasped in pain, and attempted to pull herself away from them. The woman's smell was intense, more intense than even Elodie. The harsh tones of ginger and malt. Like pure whiskey. She covered her mouth and her nose, as she felt her blood drop out of her ears. Adam's body started to turn white as ice started to consume him. The floor and the walls of the cruise liner were coated in a thick layer of ice.
"No! No! No!" The woman continued to cry.
May's leg started to freeze as the ice spread. She pulled herself further and further away, using her arms to claw herself back from the woman who was now holding her old friend's frozen body. May climbed over the guard rail and dove into the water below.
