The sudden banging of the front door jolted Zach awake. The position he was lying in and the unfamiliar materials confused him as he sat up. It took him a moment to realise where he was, and what was going on. The room was dark and he was alone. "Ahh Tanya?" He called into the darkness taking a bit to remember the masseuses name. Only hearing the faint sound of cars and city life from outside. There was no noise coming from inside the house at all, except the rattling of the front door that was opened. He got up from the bed, secured the towel around his waist and went to the door. The gate to his court yard was closed but he could see past the gate that the blue Mercedes was still there. He approached the car and peered inside. He saw Tanya on the back seat unresponsive, only wearing her underwear. "f**k!" He opened the car door and checked her pulse. Alive thank earth mother he thought. That vampire didn't get to her. "Tanya!" He shook her awake. She opened her eyes completely in a daze, and took her a beat to realise what had occurred. "Sir! O I am so sorry! I fell asleep in the car I don't know what happened! Please let me make it up to you!" She begged, her voice extremely different to what he remembered during the.. Wait. "Tanya" he paused. "Where are your clothes and don't tell me you don't know!" He said burning with rage. She was shocked with the realisation that she wasn't wearing any clothes. "I, I, I " she sputtered. "Get out of here! Bill me for the replacement of your s**t!" He shouted at her and slammed the door in her face. He raced back to the house and violently pushed the door to his study open. The red marker around the photos confirmed his worst fear. That f*****g slut had been in my house! Put me to sleep! With one arm he grabbed the side of his desk and threw it into the study wall. Zach wasn't able to sit still, he attempted the hunt her down all night. He was able to clean the sensor on his watch and got it working again. Was also able to get the Ducati dealership to drop him off a new bike. He spent hours going up and down the city, the docks, were a bunch of lowly vampires seemed to be hanging about, her listed family home when she was alive. Now preoccupied with other humans. He even made the trip to Hart Island to see where she supposedly meant to be buried. He did drive past the hospital but his watch went off like crazy, he stayed for a bit hoping a "level 6" or even "level 5" would come up on his watch. But it didn't. He was speeding away when he got a call om his mobile. "What!" He barked down the line. "Sorry to disturb you sir. I know it's early. But the woman that you have asked information for yesterday, well she's.." Zach almost broke too hard on his bike and the back wheel came off the ground as it skidded to a stop on the side walk. Cars were beeping at him and pedestrians were calling him an i***t but it was just background nose to him. "She's what!" He ordered the PI across the line. " She was spotted at the New York airport a few hours ago. Taking a flight to Miami, Florida it seems." Zack hung up the phone. Why was she going to f*****g Florida?! He was scrolling to one of his PAs to get the private jet in New York ready to leave for Florida as soon as possible. When Zoey suddenly flashed up on his screen and he picked up the call by mistake. " O Zach, baby you picked up! I knew you would! Listen I really need your help I think I'm in danger. You gotta come get me! I'm in Paris and..." Zach groaned and cut her off. "Listen Zoey i dont have time, call Thad maybe he can help you." He hung up on her and started to call the PA again. Zoey was a ex or current girlfriend, Zach couldn't even remember if they had broken up or if he had just ghosted her or what. They hadnt spoken in a very long time. He knew that for sure. Zoey was a fashion model and starred in alot of run way shows and was on the cover of many fashion magazines. Although she was hot she was very preachy and always wanted to go out and be the centre of attention. No moral compass at all and was always satisfied with the highest bidder which even for Zach's standards was annoying to say the least. He didn't care though and once the PA was able to confirm the plane could depart for Miami, Florida as soon as he got to the airport he had pretty much forgotten Zoey had even called at all. May stepped out of a old car she managed to "borrow" from one of the airport staff at Miami airport. If her hazy memories served her correct. This was the house of one of her old colleagues a risen named David. Quiet an odd one, she remembered he was quiet passionate about insects. To the point the house he occupied had a vast range of them. Both dead and alive. She grimaced at the memory of all the creepy crawlies. She met him around two decades ago. Her and Adam assisted him with a siren issue that was close to getting out of hand. She knew she had right in the address when she stepped out of the car. His vampieric essence still lingered but it was faint. She felt sadness wash over, that he was really gone. David wouldn't hurt a fly - literally. Unless they were hurting human beings. And now he was gone. For what though? Why were they being disposed off? May, walked around the back of the house. There was a basement door down a few cement stairs. The door was unlocked she felt uneasy, and listened intently as she slowly opened the door. The familiar smell of Adams vamperic essence hit her nose as she opened the door. She sighed with relief. It surprised her how much she relaxed when she realised it was him. She was secretly overjoyed that he even came. Not the easiest thing travelling as a regular vampire. Avoiding the sun can be tricky. May opened the door fully and shut it quickly behind her and started to go through David's weapons. She saw a closet in the back of the room and knew Adam was sleeping there. She smiled to herself just like the good old days she thought. As she started to gear herself up. David definitely had preference for larger assault weapons and machine guns. Not really her style but there were a few that May was happy with. Some black silk straps caught her eye and she gasped. Blood blockers! They were used once apon a time by the Krsnk to help vampire survivors to help conceal their blood scent. They were made by a coven of witches, apprently but they stopped coming all together a decade or so ago, only worked on the wearer for 24 hours and were incredibly rare. David looked like he had been hoarding them. May lined her pockets with them. Can't let them go to waste and who knows when someone will need them. A map of the Florida region was laid out on a desk next to the weapons. Adam had already left a note as where they should be heading. Everglade port closed due to hurricane warning. Despite no actual hurricane warning... Adam had written with an arrow pointing to the port on the map.
