(Samuel)
“Until then, you are banished from our Pack. No members are allowed to interact with you, or they will face punishment. Pack dismissed!” he commands. I can’t believe that son of a b***h. As soon as Lux lets me go, I run down and slide into the pit to hug Carson. He winces from pain. His face is badly bruised and broken.
“Are you ok? I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“Samuel. I’m fine. And what are you trying to say? Are you saying I don’t look good?”
“Don’t worry about it. I’m going to talk to Jace. I’m going to stop him.”
“It’s fine. Samuel, there’s nothing you can do about all of this.”
“He will listen to me. I’m gonna make him listen to me. I’ll be right back.”
I turn and head straight for Jace. Lux tries to stop me. “Alpha wants no visitors.”
“Get off of me,” I scream, pushing him off of me. He shoves me back again. NOW, I’m Pissed! I put my hand his shoulder and punch him in the gut as hard as he can. He convulses in pain. “This is what you get for moonlighting.” I knee him in the groin.” He whimpers in pain, and his hands hold his groin. He falls to his knees as his face goes whiter than the moon. “and this is for kidnapping Carson.” I superman punch him in the face. He collapses on the ground, unconscious.
“s**t! Samuel. That was Fvckin’ Fantastic!!!” I move back to Carson.
“I’ll be right back. This is all going to be ok, ok?” He nods.’’
I march my ass right up to Jace’s tent. I stare down the guards who don’t dare defy me; I push through the front doors. “Samuel, I- What happened to Lux?”
“He’s a little busy at the moment?”
“What-“
“No, I talk now. What the Hell do you think you’re doing?”
“My job. I’m the Alpha.”
“This is not the job of the Alpha.”
“He must pay.”
“This won’t bring back your sister!!!” He twitches at those words.
“I have to do this. It’s the Law of the Pack”
“You don’t have to do anything. You are in charge!”
“You don’t understand.”
“You’re right. I don’t understand.” I turn around to leave. Standing in the threshold of his tent, I say, “I thought you’d never hurt me.”
I leave the tent. Carson is gone, but before he left, he locked Lux in the same chains. I go back in the pit to look at Lux. “This is what you deserve.” I kick him in the groin one more time.
“You, shithole.”
“I’ve been called worse by better.” I smell for the residual scent of Carson and run off to chase him.
“Carson!” I call out.
“Samuel.” He responds. We hug each other. I found him at the very same clearing where I first changed into a wolf. I didn’t realize that just a half-mile away from here was where I found Luna just a few mere days ago. I didn’t realize how close the two places were. “You can’t be with me. You heard Jace. I’m exiled. I’m worse than a Rogue at this point. If you are seen with me-“
“I don’t care what Jace says right now.” Carson looks at me with fear in his eyes, but he shrugs it off. This is the first time I have seen fear on his face. He’s actually really afraid right now. I want to change the subject. “What are you doing here?” I ask.
“I don’t know… something didn’t feel right about all of this.” I get close to him and hold his hand. Shivers run through both of us. “Why did they leave her alive? Why didn’t they just kill her? They should’ve just killed both of us, but they didn’t”
“I don’t know.”
We wait in silence for minutes standing there, holding each other’s hands. I should pull away from him, but I can’t. It feels too amazing to move. “Follow me”, he says. I nod. He shifts into his wolf and I chase after him.
We get to a new, beautiful location I have never seen. The water flows gorgeous, crystal-clear blue as I have never seen before. “This is beautiful. I have never seen anything like this. I…” When I turn around, Carson is already naked and jumping into the river. I am speechless again, forgetting how amazing he looks without clothes on. I get lost in his every bulging muscle.
“What are you staring at?” He chuckles, knowing the answer to the question.
“We shouldn’t be doing this. I told you I’m still not ready.”
“I’m just going for a swim. There’s nothing guilty about that.” He laughs again. I begrudgingly agree to his requests, but only take off my shirt. I know anything more will end up to risky and intentional. “I guess that’s a happy compromise. I just want to have a little bit more fun.”
“This is a dangerous game,” I say as I swan dive into the deep stream.
When I reemerge, my hair falls down my face, dripping all down my shoulders and chest. Carson is lost staring at me now. “Do you know where my eyes are?”
“I do, but I see those all the time. Seeing everything else is a rare occurrence.” I feel myself growing at his words. I know I shouldn’t, but I feel drawn to him. I need him right now. I swim closer until our lips are just centimeters away and close my eyes. I close my eyes, so I don’t see what happens next. I feel his lips press against my own with fiery passion. I pull my head back and groan in a breath. He uses that time to slip his tongue into my mouth and kiss me even deeper. My lips turn to a smile as we devour each other, but something pulls at me. Guilt.
I pull away. I can’t do this. I told Carson that I still need time to figure it all out. Jace was a d**k today, but he was hurt. I don’t know why I’m feeling this way. I get out of the river. “This was a mistake. I shouldn’t have done this.”
“Samuel, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pushed you.”
“I need to go.” I shift and run off.
