Chapter 4: The Crossing

1330 Words
The lightning struck across the skies and thunder shook the ground, it was so loud that it made my heart jump in all nervousness that it might hit me. Why did it have to be a stormy night when I just wanted to see if my dream was true. Sighing I closed the umbrella that I had in my hand in no hopes as the weather was bad and the umbrella really was of no use as I was already wet to the bones. "Stupid weather" I angrily muttered as I looked up at the sky. The breath I released created a fog in the wind as it died down immediately after it was released due to the heavy rain. I kept walking through the forest endlessly being careful as to not step on anyone else's borders I wouldn't wanna die just because of a stupid dream that I had. Making sure that my gun was in place, I tightened the coat I had on as the thunderstorm continued. The chill that was sent to my spine when I sensed that something was wrong was magnanimous. A loud bang was heard and I looked at where the sound was coming from. Seeing a gate/portal of sorts forming in the ground I quickly stepped out of the way so that I wouldn't be sucked in. A claw, a freaking big damn claw with silver enhanced stains was what emerged from the portal first. It was a horrifying sight to behold, as it continued to rise up from the ground. I was hiding behind a tree and dared look back when I heard a loud growl coming from what I guess would be the same thing that came out of there! A giant demon, with rotting flesh, skin hardened and eyes as black as possible. Looking at me as it continued to morph into something I cannot fathom. I would vomit if I had the time as its insides were twisted and shredded to the imagination. It went straight for me. Straight.   Bang!   The gun I was holding was fired once, the bullet was laced with poison to protect me from such attacks. But the demon continued to make its way to me, not being affected by the gun I fired. "Run," The voice said again. "Follow the trail straight ahead and when you reach a clearing go left and never look back." Following the orders/guide/whatever of who knows who. I ran as fast as I could towards it.   The demon was still heading for me but it was slow due to its weight. Every footstep of that even a foot would shake the ground so hard it almost cracked. This dark entity was what went out of the ground. Okay, so they weren't lying when they said that it was a f*****g demon for heaven's sake! 'Calm down and go faster!' My wolf yelled at me because I was looking back every now and then to check if the monster was still there. Being snapped to my senses, I focused on just simply surviving this night. I have not yet met my mate yet, please don't let me die in this place. Murmuring to myself as I picked up the pace faster than ever.   It seemed like forever, running to who knows where evading other packs' border in my way as best as I could to follow the voices. Until I can't avoid another pack land anymore. Beelining for the straight way it told me. I CROSSED THE DAMN PACK BORDER IN THE WAY. My senses were heightened than ever, as the forest stood around me in all its dark glory with shadows ever being present and the greeneries around smelt like wet forest. Threading the lands carefully, I'm sure the pack fighters who are stationed in the borders have already smelled my scent. Quickly trying to find something to cover my smell, I searched around for a pool of mud or water. Focusing on my hearing sense, I heard water about 70 meters from the exact location I'm standing in. Preparing myself for the worst or great luck if I had any. I made my way to it by jumping around trees so that the wolves won't find me by going up the ground. A clearing with the clearest water was what I came to when I reached it. I jumped to the water so that my scent would not be sniffed out and stayed there for as long as I could. Staying at the spot under where it'll cover me enough to hide underwater I waited patiently. My heart was beating loudly I can hear it in my ears. The wolves were already near this place, as my wolf heard their paws running at the ground. 'I just need them to pass by this lake of some sort and I'll be good.' I thought to myself 5 minutes have passed, I was already out of breath.   I went up gasping for air and trying to make sense of my surroundings again. Not long after going up for air, I heard a growl that made me realize someone else was here. Looking up, I saw a very huge wolf. His eyes were not yellow, it was pure red. Which is very startling. They captured my soul with just one look. They were full of sadness underneath them, I instantly knew that it was because he was feeling so lonely.   The color of his mane was Silver, with black stripes in his neck. His scent was something I could not ever decipher in my life. It was the scent of something sweet and addicting to the point that I almost purred in his presence. The one thing that I knew for sure was that this wolf is my mate! Immediately after that realization, he shifted back to human form right in front of me. Admiring his human form, I was entranced yet again by his entirety.   He was well built, I'm guessing he is the Alpha of this pack with the way he's constructed.   He is so hot!   With pinkish lips that begged to be kissed by only me! I’ll be damned if his lips ever touched anyone but mine soon!!!   His hair was cut short like a buzz cut.   And his face is almost close to perfection. A pointy nose, cute chin, cheeks, everything is so damn attractive.   ‘Damn.’ I thought, he was one hell of a snack!   He was tall, I have never been attracted to anyone before but the way his body moved as he was walking towards me. Fudge me. I have never been so satisfied in my whole life. Only thinking of jumping him right then and there he spoke.   'Mate, come here. Now." he said as his eyes flashed dangerously.   Wow, this man wasn't taking no for an answer.   With no choice, I went up the water in all my glorious mess. My clothes were sticking to my every curve, magnifying the imagination of one, I'm guessing my hair was a wet mess and my face was not in a very presentable state that I am used in presenting myself to my pack.   When he saw me fully, his eyes darkened and he grabbed me instantly by my arms...       Only to result in both of us hissing in pain because he burned me! With his touch,   Or I burned him? I wouldn't know.     'Ouch!' I yelped.   'f**k!' He said.   Well, that was not nice but oh well.   His eyes turned to look far away quickly, guess he was mind linking someone. After that, he looked at me and said,   'Follow me' oh my gosh, his voice was so deep and soothing I want to hear my name be called out by him. How lovely is that???   'Where am I? What pack is this?' I queried.   No response.   'Are you going to throw me in the dungeon for accidentally crossing your borders?’ I asked again.   ‘No.’ And then we continued to walk to what seemed like 10 minutes before we arrived at their pack house.
