The Human, Angel, and Wolf

Unwanted Visitor

It takes me two weeks before I start becoming real competition for Haze. Yes, I'm so much stronger than before Angel and my wings were given to me. However, it took time for me to learn to focus my strength. 

Marian and I worked on meditation and she helped me with flying. Not to toot my own horn, but I have mastered flying. Leo made me promise to take him for a ride when I mastered flying. 

As promised, Marian brought a friend with her the day after I mind linked with the demon. 

I hadn't seen Marian and decided to go down to the river, she would find me when she was ready. 

I had been meditating for about ten minutes when I felt Marian, but she wasn't alone. I focused on the new presence, the angel immediately felt me connecting with them and tried to block me. I felt his wall go up to keep me at bay, but with no effort at all pushed right through it. I felt anxiety, fear, curiosity, and shock in him. 

Soon I felt them about fifteen feet behind me so I opened my eyes, stood, and turned around. I never pulled back from the angel though, I kept my connection in his mind. 

His aura told me that he was ranked higher than Marian. He started walking closer, but since he is still unknown Angel and I increased our aura. He stopped and struggled to not fall on his knees. 

I kept eye contact with him, but addressed Marian. "This is your friend?"

"Yes, Young One. This is Mavric. He is a high angel warrior."

"What have you told him?" The angel warrior did not seem happy, I still hadn't allowed him to stand. 

"Only that I needed his help today." I nod slowly and study the man in front of me. 

He had a nice face...not as nice as Haze's though. He had black curly hair that was just a little to long and beautiful grey-blue eyes. 

I slowly reigned in my power and allowed the angel to stand. I pulled away from his mind, but didn't break the connection with him. 

His scowl deepened when he realized that I wasn't going to break my connection with him yet. I c****d my head a bit at him, still not sure about him. 

"Young One, I wanted you to connect with Mavric like you do with me, but I didn't think you would do so right away. You can trust him, he will not harm you." She smirked at her last statement, he obviously could do nothing to me even if he wanted to. 

I broke my connection with him and continued to stare at the angel. 

"Marian, who is this girl?" His voice was smooth, but resentment was clear in his tone. 

"Her name is Helen. She has been blessed by our creator as well as the moon goddess. They have gifted her." 

He c****d his head and was sizing me up. I didn't back down. In his mind, just because I caught him off guard and brought him to his knees once, does not mean I can overpower him. 

He moves into a defensive position and I do the same. He rushes me and tries to send a fist into my chest. I move swiftly at the last minute and send my elbow into his shoulder blade. I notice a smirk on his face as he turns around, but then wipes it off. 

We circle and he comes at me two more times before he lets his wings grow, so I do the same. He flies into the air and I follow him, not quite sure what his plan was. He dove at me and I dodged, this time I decided to go into offensive. I dove for him and he dodged, but I turned quickly and grabbed his wrist. 

I am so thankful that my brother made me learn all of the pressure points for self defense. I squeezed in the right places and he faltered. In that second I flung him to the ground where Marian waited. 

Unfortunately, Mavric caught himself at the last minute and pushed up from the ground back into the air. He caught my ankle and flung me in the direction of the pack house. I didn't catch myself and ended up tumbling in the dirt. 

I sensed eyes watching us and could feel Haze rushing to me. I sat on my butt for a minute before getting up and huffed. I closed my eyes and searched for Mavric. When I found him, I shot up and flew as fast as I could. I knocked into him, hard. I let my power out and focused it on Mavric without connecting with him. I forced him to land and pull in his wings. As I landed in front of him, he bends down on one knee and lowers his head. 

"I kneel in acknowledgment of your power and dominance. You have my support, I will stand with you." 

By now Haze was next to me and held my hand since my wings were still out. I reigned in all my dominant power, allowing him to rise. 

"I have much to learn, especially fighting in the air. Thank you for your support." I put my hand out and instead of a traditional hand shake, we did the whole holding each others forearms. We nodded at each other and then let go. 

"I will help Marian with your training as I can get away, I will also bring a handful of my most trusted warriors when you are ready. When the time arrives, you will not be fighting against just one opponent at a time." He turned to Haze, "Are you helping her train on the ground?"

Haze nodded, but looked extremely skeptical at the angel warrior in front of him. Marian had flown closer and now walked closer. 

"Alpha, this is Mavric. He can be trusted. He means no harm to your mate or your pack." My mate nodded in acknowledgment, but kept a firm grip on my hand. 

"I must go." With that Mavric nodded at all of us, let his wings out, and took off into the sky. 

Marian walked away, giving Haze and I a moment to ourselves. 

My mate pulled me close, "My heart stopped when I saw you being hurled through the air. Are you okay?" 

I felt that what he really wanted to saw was that he didn't want me doing this anymore, but unfortunately understood that I have to do this. 

I responded through our mind link so it could be more intimate. 

-Love, I'm alright. I'm a little embarrassed that I couldn't catch myself before tumbling like that though.-

-It was only your first time fighting in air, wasn't it?-

-Yes, it was. We started on the ground, I think I hurt his pride first because I forced him down on his knees when he and Marian first came. So I guess we're even.-

I smirked a little and Angel just rolled her eyes at me.

Haze shook his head at me and leaned down to kiss me. I pulled away when I felt someone walking to us. It was Leo and he was grinning. 

"Is now a good time to ask for a ride?" He looked so excited. 

I nod, "Sure, come here." He comes closer and wrap him securely in my arms. I gently move my wings at first, then lift us off the ground. There aren't any clouds out today, but I take him high off the ground and fly him around for a few minutes before landing again. 

We attracted the other children who ran over to where we landed and I carefully set Leo down on his feet. He turned and grinned then reach around me for a hug. He waved the other children over, "Come feel her feathers. Be gently, though." 

The pups all looked at me with so much hope, I smiled and nodded. "You are welcome to touch my feathers, but you have to introduce yourselves to me, okay?" They all cheered and flocked around me. One by one, they each told me their names and proceeded to tell me how soft my feathers are or how beautiful they are. 

Before I know it, it's time for my training Haze. He had left a while ago, but told me that he would meet me at the training grounds. 

Two weeks later and Haze is finally comfortable enough with my human form's combat ability to begin working on training Angel. 

She and I are so excited. 

Marian and I had just finished our meditation routine and I began my walk to the training grounds. Many of the children were out and about, as soon as they saw me they ran over to hug me. I noticed Leo sitting by himself again, so as soon as I said hello and hugged them all, I made my way over to him. 

"Leo, sweetie, is everything okay?" I sat next to him and put my arm around him.

"They still don't like playing with me. Some of them are a little nicer now though." 

"I'm sorry, honey." I pull him closer and run my fingers through his hair. 

We sit quietly for a few minutes, just watching the other pups play. 

Me: Angel?

Angel: We can start my training tomorrow, babe. The pup needs some comfort. 

Me: Thank you, maybe we can go out on a run tonight with Haze?

Angel: I would love that!

We smile to each other in my mind. 

-Haze?-

-Babe, are you okay? Where are you?-

-I'm by the pack house in the field where the pups play. I'm sitting with Leo, their leaving him out again. Do you mind if we start training with Angel tomorrow? I feel like I need to be with him.-

-I understand, baby. Tomorrow will be just fine.-

-Can our wolves go for a run tonight though?- 

Angel: Like he'd say no!

-Sure, babe. We like that plan.-

-I love you, so much my sweet mate.-

-I love you too, baby.-

I turn to Leo, "Would you like to fly around with me?"

He smiles at me and nods, "Okay, but I have to meet Chef Jerry in an hour." 

I wink at him as I stand and let my wings out, "I'll make sure you aren't late."

I pick him up and we're off. We fly around the pack territory and wave at those we pass. The hour is gone all to soon, but after I dropped Leo off I decided to fly around some more. Something was drawing me into the air. 

Angel: Babe, be careful. Something is out there.

I head her statement. While flying slowly, I reach out with my mind. I don't connect with pack members in this way, but I can feel them and feel the difference between them and Marian and Mavric. 

Soon I felt a single presence that was out of place, not a wolf and not an angel. It felt cold and dark. 

I reached out for Marian with my mind as I lower myself into the tree tops for visual cover. 

-Marian, there is a presence that feels cold and dark. I'm at the east side of pack territory. I don't know if I was seen, but I've hidden in some tree tops. Do I advance or keep hidden?-

-Stay hidden, Young One. I'm on my way. Call Haze and tell him to have patrol alerted and as discreetly as possible send wolves.-

-On it.....Haze?"

-Babe, I feel you. What's wrong?-

-There is a strange presence at the east side of the territory. Marian is on her way, I'm hidden in some of the tree tops. Can you alert patrol and send extra wolves this way. Discreetly.-

-On our way, stay hidden!- 

I didn't respond, but left the link open. 

Angel: We need to shift, now!

I immediately lower to the ground, pull my wings in, and allow Angel to take over. We easily shift into her wolf body and soon I see why she made this call. We felt darkness creeping closer. 

While Angel kept her focus on him, I receding into our mind and checked our barrier. It was still holding well, but I spent a few moments making it stronger. Hopefully, hiding our angel power. Any power that is felt by this dark being will hopefully be assumed as our Luna power. 

I come forward again, but allow Angel to be in control right now. We see a dark, hooded figure walk slowly towards us and we moved into a defensive position. 

Angel growls lowly at him, warning him not to come closer. 

The figure does not listen and keeps coming forward. When he is about ten feet away from us, Angel growls again. This time louder and drawing power from Haze. 

The figure stops and lifts their head. I can tell it's a man under the hood. He has an evil smile plastered on his face. 

"You must be the new Luna." 

I don't answer..mostly because I can't in Angel's body without linking to him. Which we don't want to do. The whole purpose of coming here, was to hide me. It looks like I will now be hiding in plain sight. Great. 

-Angel, Helen, what's going on?!-

-Um...well. I'm fine for now. I may have met the strange presence.-

-You either did or didn't!-

-Um, well, then I have.-

-I'm close!-

I feel Marian land in front of me, discreetly motioning for me to back up. 

I roll my eyes and angel growls loudly at the intruder. 

"Why are you here? You have no business here, demon."

"What business have you here, angel?"

"I am visiting the Alpha and his new Luna, the Alpha is a friend."

"You have travelled far for just a friendly visit."

"It is never to far to visit with those important to you." She continues to eye the creep that decided to cross pack territory. 

I feel Haze close and soon he stops in front of me, nudging my farther behind him.
