The Human, Angel, and Wolf

Extraction Plan

-Helen, are you alright?-

-I'm fine, my barrier is still working well. He has no way of knowing I am who he is looking for.-

My mate growls loudly the demon who is trespassing. 

"You wouldn't be hiding the little girl that my lord is looking for, would you?" His voice is sickening, and so so cold. I've been studying him and there is nothing good in him, no light is left of his soul. 

"Don't you think that if she were here, you would feel her?" I'm really glad we're in our wolf form, I wouldn't have been able to keep the smirk off my face. I'm glad that Angel has a poker face.

The demon looked less sure of himself. What an i***t. Marco knows I am hidden. Although, maybe they think someone else is hiding me. 

"Pass this message along to her, from Marco. If she doesn't show herself soon, he might just have to visit her brother again."

Me: Angel, he's implying that he knows my brother. 

Angel: Don't panic just yet, get through this little interview and we'll make a plan with mate.

I nod to her and try to focus. 

"I do not have the girl he seeks, she is not under my protection." 

"Well...I guess I better be on my way." He grins and turns to leave. 

I see Marian pull a silver battle knife out of her waist band and easily throw it at the demon. It was all so fast that a human would not have seen it. The knife landed in his neck, severing his spinal cord. 

Just like that, the demon fell to the ground, lifeless.

"Alpha, have the body burned."

I listened as Haze gave instructions, he included me so I could listen. Angel walked over to Alex and rubbed her head against his neck. We want Haze and Alex to know we are glad they're here. 

"Young one, Alpha, let's talk." Our wolves nod and we make our way to the pack house. Haze was given a pair of shorts, but Angel and I didn't shift until we were in our bedroom. 

Haze tells Marian to meet us in his office and closes our bedroom door. We Angel and I shift, but before I could grab some clothes Haze has me in his arms pulled close. 

"Are you really okay?" I hear the fear in his voice. 

I snuggle into his arms deeper before answering, "I'm fine. Angel wanted to tear him to shreds, but she and I know that we can't do anything to cause suspicion. If I had been able to use my other gifts, he would have been no match at all." 

"Thank you for waiting, I've never knew true fear until you told me that you were hiding from an unknown presence and I wasn't close to you." 

"I'm so sorry for scaring you." A couple tears fall, it broke my heart knowing how much he feared the possibility of loosing me today. 

He didn't say anything, but pulled away enough to kiss me. He then helped me dress, even though I can do it just fine myself. 

Angel: Alex needs reassurance that you and I are okay. Constant contact with us will help him. Alex and Haze are extremely dominant, the fact that we were so far away from him and needed help is hard for them to swallow. 

I nodded at her in my mind, I think I understood. I let Haze keep my close as we walked to his office. Marian was pacing when we finally made it, she looked up and gave us an annoyed look. We must have taken to long. 

Haze pulled me over to his chair and had me sit on his lap so he could pull me close. 

"Marco would have felt that blasted demon die. He will make good on his threats to go after your family, Helen." 

"They can come here. Helen is my Luna, her family is pack now." Haze was rubbing little circles on sides to comfort my worry as he spoke. 

Marian nodded, but didn't look completely convinced. "That is a start, but unfortunately nothing can be that simple. The neighbors Helen's family is with, they are really close and would be an easy way to hurt Helen and draw her out." 

"They can come here for refuge."

"Alright, then tonight we'll will move them here. We'll have a better chance under the cover of darkness, Helen will be able to put a barrier on all of us so the demons don't know we are there or that we are taking the families." 

"No, Helen is not going! She was put at risk today on our own land, no way am I allowing her to be right under their noses!"

"You know, they won't come with us unless she is there to prove that she is still alive." 

"Then we find another way!" Alex had come forward and he and Haze were one in that statement. 

Marian looked pointedly at me, "There is no other way that is as quick and as safe." 

I give her a small nod, it would be up to me to convince Haze and Alex. 

"I'm going to get a message to Mavric and have him scope out the area." She started walking towards the door, but turned back. "And until further notice, you are to stay grounded." With that she left and closed the door behind her. I rolled my eyes and huffed, I didn't like it but understood.

I turned so I was straddling Haze, I wanted to be able to look at him while we spoke and he had no intention of letting move away from him. 

Angel and I saw Alex had come to the surface so Angel came forward as well and together put our hands on their shoulders and leaned forward for a kiss. After a few moments, Alex and Haze calmed a little. Alex receded some into Haze's mind and Angel did the same. I felt them using their bond so Angel could continue to calm Alex. 

I slowly pulled back from Haze, groaning a little. Neither of us wanted to end the kiss, but we had to talk about how to get my family here. 

We didn't say anything for a minute, still trying to fully come back to the present after that kiss. 

"Baby, I don't want you out there. I don't doubt your abilities, but so much could go wrong out there and I can't protect you as well out there as I can here on pack land."

I nodded, thinking. I have a plan in mind if Mavric can help us. "I hear you, I'm trying to think of a way we can compromise. I have to be there because I am the only one with the power to hide everyone."

Haze took a deep breath, he knows that I have to be there but didn't want to accept it. 

"We can't have any wolves there seen by demons that may be keeping an eye on the area, that goes for Marian too. The demon obviously didn't have time to get a message out, but for some reason is interested in our pack. He may not know I'm here, but something has caught his attention. I can't be seen, yet somehow I have to be present so I can keep everyone covered."

Haze was still frowning, but I could tell he was listening and thinking through what I said. 

Me: Angel, what if we used our power on the demons? Forced them down so they couldn't see and pay attention to the house?

Angel: That might be our only option, they have to be distracted so that your family and the others can be extracted. The main issues I'm seeing would be your scent and making sure that your face is not seen. It's one thing to cover your power, you can't make our body invisible. 

Me: Maybe Haze has an idea about how to cover my scent, but I can where a hood and maybe put a ski mask. 

Angel: Ski mask would be safer than a hood. See what our mate thinks.

Haze is staring at me, I guess feeling me and Angel talking. 

"What does Angel think about all of this?"

"We sort of have a plan, we need help to fill in the rest of the blanks. I can provide a distraction to the demons, because of my power I can force them to do what I want. I am far more dominant than any of them. I can keep them on their knees while an extraction team goes in for everyone. I will have to keep my concentrations, which means I won't be able to converse with anyone. The extraction leader will be able to allow everyone to see me though. Once everyone is in vehicles and are a mile or two away, I'll be able to hide my power again. The only things I cannot hide will be my scent and face. Angel says I'll need a ski mask, but maybe you have an idea of how to cover my scent." 

Haze nods slowly, keeping his eyes on me. "I can help you hide your scent."

"Anyone who is part of the extraction team cannot have any scent of our pack on them."

Haze nodded again and continued to think through the plan. After what felt like hours, but was probably only fifteen minutes spoke. "I agree that's a good plan. I will be staying by your side the whole time. Everyone will use an herb mixture to cover over their bodies, we'll also bring enough for your family and friends. I'll have my warriors stay in the vehicles unless they are needed. Marian and Jacob will go inside to get everyone. Mavric and his people stay out of sight, but alert." 

I nod, "Are you okay with this?" I put hands on either side of his face and put my forehead on his. 

"Not really, but I trust you. This is the best way to get everyone out." 

"Okay, I'll get Marian back so we can talk this over with her as well." 

I reach out to Marian, "Haze and I have a plan."

"I'm on my way there."

Marian must have been just down the hall because she was walked in after only a moment. I walked her through our plan as she paced around the room. Like Haze, she took a few minutes to respond. 

"I like it, I think that's good. I do, however, think that since Alpha is going to stay with you that you shouldn't fly or shift into Angel. They don't know you have a wolf or wings and we should keep it that way for as long as possible. You should arrive and leave riding on the Alpha's wolf. That will be the safest and quickest. You'll be able to mask your presence. Be quiet and stay hidden at all times, Alpha. No need to allow anyone to get a peek at your wolf on accident." 

We talked a little longer before Marian went to inform Mavric of our plans. Haze also called a meeting with Beta Jacob and the top warrior. I stayed for the meeting, by the time we were done it was dinner time. Haze and I brought food to our living room and stayed together until it was almost completely dark and we got ready to go.
