The Human, Angel, and Wolf

Midnight Warrior

As everyone stands there looking at me and Angel, Alex comes closer in a protective manner. Liam and Ela come closer, but not to close so they don't give Alex any reason to believe they mean harm. 

They both lower to their knees and Liam speaks. "You have been gifted the Midnight Warrior wolf. It has been legend that a wolf with midnight black fur. The wolf would also have a silver mark on her left thigh." He motions towards the silver wings. "She will only appear when the world greatly needs her."

Then everyone, including Haze, bows their heads in submission. 

Me: Angel, you gunna explain this?

Angel: It's like he said babe, I'm rare. This is not my first time to this world, I am only given to very special human counterparts, and only when the world is in trouble. Although I have never been given a human who has wings as well." 

She laughs a little and howls. Haze and then all the others join in as well. We make quite a sound together. 

Haze motions with his head for me to follow him and we start running. I'm not all that coordinated, we find out, so Angel takes over.

Angel: Hahahahaha, I have a human who can't run!

Me: Yeah yeah

Angel: We'll work on it, babe.

I nod to her in our mind and just enjoy the wind on our face. It is absolutely incredible, I feel our power growing and running through our veins. 

Angel: Babe.

She sounds serious.

Me: What's wrong?

Angel: Someone is trying to find us. I feel it in the air.

Me: I'll bet it's that demon. I'll try to connect with Marian.

She nods. 

Angel: I can hide us for a short time, but not long term. I am going to have to use some of our mate's strength. He'll notice, but it won't hurt him.

While she does her thing, I focus on Marian. I feel her essence and hone in on it. 

Me: Marian, can you hear me?

Marian: Young One, I am not surprised you could reach me after the power you showed, but I am surprised that you are reaching me now.

Me: Angel said that someone is trying to find us, she can hold them off for a short time.

Marian: I had hoped he would leave you alone until tomorrow, I'm sorry I should have pushed for us to have training today. What you need to do is focus on the essence you feel seeking you out. Once you have locked onto it, like you did me, imagine a barrier around you. One that the essence cannot penetrate. You are powerful enough to create this.

Me: Okay, I'll give it a shot.

With Angel's help, I focused on the essence in the air seeking me. Then imagined a barrier around me, almost like a big bubble protecting us. Once I did, Angel stopped hiding us. It worked, the essence flowed right passed us.

We didn't realize that Haze had been leading us back to the pack house, his energy seemed strained, worried. He must have realized us using his power. Come to think of it, Angel and I are a little wiped. 

I followed Haze into the same tent as before, but this time there were robes hanging there instead of our clothes from earlier. 

Angel: Focus on your human self. Your black curly hair, your arms, legs, toes, hands, and fingers. 

I did and soon I was in my human body. I was immediately wrapped in a robe and I looked over to see Haze had already shifted and put his robe on. 

"You were using my energy." He wasn't mad, but he was concerned. 

Before I could answer, Marian rushed in. "Did it work?"

I closed my eyes and focused on my surroundings. I felt the essence seeking me, but it was flowing right past my barrier. I was hidden. 

I opened my eyes and focused on Marian, "Yes, I am hidden." I turned to Haze and spoke as he was opening his mouth. "Angel felt someone seeking us out. She had to use your power to temporarily keep us hidden. I was able to form a barrier in my mind against this essence, it can not find me."

Marian was bouncing on her toes waiting to speak, so I turned to her and waited for her to speak. 

"During your run, you felt power flood through you right?" She didn't even wait for a response before continuing her thought. "I felt your power, your very powerful essence, grow. You were probably felt by all angels and demons. I need you and Angel to feel around you. Do you feel more seeking you out?"

I closed my eyes, and I felt it. Angel, again, held them at bay. The seekers were growing in number. 

I opened my eyes, "There are more." 

Marian very loudly growled while Haze came closer and held me to him. 

"Okay, you are going to have to hide yourself from all of the supernatural creatures. Your bond with your pack will stay because of the mind link and when you bond with Haze, he will also feel you."

"Okay, but what about you?"

"You will be hidden from me as well, but you can seek my mind out, remember? You can always do so and tell me where you are. You are going to have to picture yourself with that barrier, but greatly enforce it. Let your instincts help to guide you." 

Angel: Babe, now would be a good time to follow the angel lady's instructions.

I laughed out loud at her name for Marian. I closed my eyes again and felt my barrier and also those seeking me out. My barrier had been made for one, but there were already hundreds, multiplying, looking for me. I focused on my barrier bubble and imagined it strong enough to keep all of them out. My power was strong, but I was growing tired. I had never used this much power before. 

Angel: I am giving you some of Haze's strength. 

I couldn't answer her for fear I would loose concentration, but I nodded in acknowledgment.

The barrier was thickening as well as changing from a dim grey to a very strong black. I could still see through, but none could see through. Almost like a two way mirror. 

I felt that it was strong enough so Angel stopped hiding us and we waited to see if my barrier stayed. It did. I can't get over how many were searching me out. Angel and I chuckled a little, they'll never find us with the amount of power we hold. 

I was about to open my eyes when I saw a strange essence. I could see the difference between angel and demon essences, even other powerful supernatural creatures. This one, while obviously a demon, stuck out. It was so dark, I could feel the darkness through my barrier and shivered. It never looked directly at me though. 

I opened my eyes to see that Haze's parents had joined us. I smiled at them, although it was a bit sleepily. 

I turned to Marian, "Do you feel me?"

"No, I felt you barricade yourself. It is very strong. I can also feel all the angels seeking you out. I knew they would, but I did not expect so many to do so. I did not think the lower angels would feel you. If they can, and they obviously do, feel you, then you are even more powerful than I originally thought."

I yawned and everyone chuckled.

Angel spoke through me this time, 'We may be powerful, but that was brutal. Mate, thank you for lending us your strength."

She receded back into my mind and I watched as she curled up and closed her eyes. 

I yawned again and Haze picked me up and said good night to everyone. He carried me up to our room and helped me slip into a nightie. 

Haze laid next to me and pulled me close. 

"You can use my strength anytime you need. It is at your disposal."

A smile started to grow on my lips and Angel even perked up at my thought. She gave me a wolf grin and took some of Haze's strength. He looked confused as I turned my head towards him. 

"What are you doing?" 

I ignored him for a moment as I moved my arms around his neck and pulled him closer. 

"I believe that we had plans for tonight." I smirked and Angel peeked out of my eyes. 

Haze slowly grinned and Alex soon looked back at Angel and I. 

"So we do."
