Some set of hands crept around my neckline. I could feel feathery kisses trail them. It seemed like my wolf was in love with this cryptic sensation because she did not attempt to get out of whatever grasp we were in.
My head tried to recognize the voice.
But it couldn’t.
Whoever owned that voice riled me with anger.
Whoever owned that tone, irritated me.
And somewhere, at the back of my head, I knew I loathed and reviled that voice. I was aware I detested that person.
To me, it was despicable.
But my entire soul felt drowsy. Powerless to do anything about it...
“I hate you, don’t touch me.” A husky tone came out at the uncertainty of whose room I was in. My blood was irked at the thought that I couldn’t figure out who it was.
Nevertheless, I felt so irritated that I was weak and helpless in this situation.
“You can’t hate your King, Lycan. You’re only allowed to if I tell you to. And I won’t. Ever,”
Hands spread dangerously around my neck, erotically. I cried out from the delicious tingles that spread across my veins. My vessels had an unsettling feeling.
I didn’t welcome them, but my body did embrace them, searching desperately for more.
“I order you to love me, as my chosen. My one and only,” he added.
There was another tug on my hair, pulling me nearer. From the muscles I felt, I was sure that his declaration was correct. He was the Lycan King.
My lower back was pressed at the pit of his stomach. It made me fantasize what it would be like to have myself against him. Numerous more of those thoughts fogged my senses, sashaying my brain to my butts.
I knew it was obviously because I was under the influence.
And then it dawned on me... my best friend.
The murder...
By him.
All by him...
I got out of his grip that minute.
“To hell forbid, the day I love you…” With slightly parted lips, my mouth trailed out. My body tried to stabilize itself at the unforeseen wobbliness my frame welcomed.
He reached for me in the shadows, and I didn’t even know when I passed out. What I did hope for, was that I didn’t pass out in his arms.
I mean no one enjoyed passing out in his enemies’ hands.
…
I woke up in my room, still clothed in my blue gown. My left breast was exposed to the light of the day. I covered my boobs, looking in between my thighs to check just in case.
I didn’t feel any soreness.
It meant I wasn’t taken advantage of, in my weak state.
Thus, a shade of relief spread across my features.
The only thing that made me groan in pain was the annoying throb that disturbed the back of my head. It made me so much angry and upset at my brothers.
“Dammit,” I seethed.
I wondered how many percent of alcohol from the college lab they had both mixed in the drink.
Whatever it was, I hate them for making me so much vulnerable just yesterday, in the sight of the Lycan King.
“F*ck you, Leila. This is also your fault too!” I confronted her immediately. My wolf jeered up at my voice. She gave a loud yawn before purring.
“It’s too early, Katniss… how are you awake…?” Her sleepy voice asked me.
“You think it’s too early? Well, it’s certainly not too early to have this conversation,” I retorted back at her.
She gave a pout, before shaking her furs.
“What conversation? Sometimes I regret being your wolf, you b*tch,”
“Look who’s calling me a b*tch. At least I wasn’t the one throwing myself at the Lycan King last night,” I answered her, sneering.
“Why would you do that, Leila? Why would you think of ever leading us to the infuriating Lycan King?” I immediately asked her.
“You didn’t even resist any of his lustful incubi moves on our last night, why?” I said, emphasizing the ‘why’.
An oomph of fury beaded my entire senses at what she did. She had practically taken us to the Lion’s den, while we were so weak and not on guard.
“Stop getting all worked up over this. I hated him too before last night. But I want him back now, period,” My wolf snickered out at me.
“What do you mean by you want him back, Leily? Why would you ever want him?” Scrunching my nose, I asked.
“Cause things seem different now, he smells so delicious and he gives a delicate impression. I think he’s what we’ve been looking for, all these years,”
“Are you even listening to yourself? We both know only mates do that,”
“My point exactly,” she answered.
“Then what happens when we find our real m- “
I stopped midway at my sudden realization of what she had just said. I scrunched my nose, unable to believe her statement.
“Wait really?”
“Really.”
“That murderer is our chosen?”
“Yes,”
“A beast with no humanity is our real soul mate?”
“Yes,”
“Now go get him and forget about any gruesome revenge you’re breeding.” she scoffed, retreating inside. I tried to make another statement but she ignored me this time.
I sighed, walking to my closet to dress up. Quickly, I put on a white sports bra and black yoga pants, which clung around my female curves.
One look at the mirror and I was pretty decent. I walked to the bathroom to clean my teeth and wash my face with water. I dried it with a towel before putting on some makeup.
It was something with a gothic style, though not too heavy. Didn’t want to look like a vampire of the night.
By the time I got to the Fronters, the whole area appeared empty. There was not a single pack member in sight, but there were light traces of scents, lurking in the air.
Are we on a pack strike?
“Where is everyone?” Leila let out.
The yellow boundary line was still at the front of the burnt Fronters. I knew it was still in the investigation process but curiosity got the best of me.
I surveyed the area before disappearing inside with my Lycan flight. As I got in the Fronters, I looked around the dissembled place. Dark walls, I stepped on the remnants, with them crunching below me.
Suddenly I felt a presence behind me. The earthly scent became instantly evident and Leila tugged at my senses, jumping up inside.
I was immediately slammed into the disheveled dusky wall, with the back of my head slamming against it, in pain. I quickly recovered with my fast healing.
“Such spectacular steely blue eyes...” he trailed out, with his hands gripping the sides of my jaw with intensity.
“Is all mine,”
I scoffed at his words, with my eyes directly on his, which appeared to look like death itself. But I wasn’t afraid of him.
Instead, I was irritated.
I couldn’t bear to think the Moon Goddess, who I had worshipped all my life would ever pair me with a cold-blooded murderer like him.
“Reject me.”
“No,” he declared, with an intimidating look on his dangerous features. Angry at his refusal, I took a foot just from under to kick his legs but he blocked it instantly.
“Reject me.” I tried again.
“No,” he stated authoritatively.
That put fury in my head. I skillfully got out of his grasp. As I moved to elbow him, he held and tackled me down. I was on the floor in seconds, under him.
Tingles spread across my cheeks down to my entire skin from his proximity. His body warmth also threatened to knock me out of my senses.
“Reject me, Lycan.” I seethed hatefully, looking above at him, confused at why this was happening to me.
“Now, listen wolf. You’re mine and I will never reject you at all costs,” he stated.
“I will make you.” I declared.
Footsteps were headed in the distance. With our Lycan speed, we stood up, away from each other, looking decent. Although, tension filled the air. I looked down at my erect n*****s.
I sighed. I was turned on by this act and it wasn’t in any way something to be pleased about. No matter what happened, I had to shut out whatever attraction the Moon Goddess created.
“Your Majesty!” Someone called out just from behind us, interrupting how tense everywhere had been.
It was Beta Grey, walking towards us. Just beside Beta Grey, was Cynthia. He was approaching and she walked beside him too.
I sighed when my eyes met hers. I remembered that I had given her my word to get what she wanted.
Lucien.
I had to find a way to convince Dad to bring him back from the Diviners soon.
“I’ll be excused now, please,” I muttered, moving to go. A hand stopped me, tightening against mine. My eyes narrowed at the awareness. It was the Lycan King’s warm hands all over mine.
“Stay,” he ordered.
“It’s something confidential, Your Majesty. Would you like me to still say it in front of her?” Beta Grey asked, with a loyal tone. He looked like one of those right-hand men who swore to give their lives for the throne.
While Cynthia’s bitchy look was gone. She looked nervous and was almost trembling in fear. The Lycan King’s presence intimidated her.
“Tell me, in fact, everything. There’s absolutely nothing to hide from her,” he stated. His hands were still around mine, and I tried to remove my hands out of his grasp, without causing any attention.
It gave me a sickly and burning sensation at the same time.
I didn’t want to feel this way.
“Here is the Beta of Blood Moon Pack, as you requested. Her name is Cynthia, she is also in charge of the weaponry department.” Beta Grey said.
“Cynthia is it?” Lycan King Nick clarified.
“Yes, Your Highness,” she said with a polite smile.
“I hope to work well with you. I wouldn’t normally take in females but let’s see if you’ll make a difference,” he uttered.
Huh?
“I promise to do my best to satisfy you, Your Highness,” she said stretching her hands, with her eyes directed down. Lycan King Nick smirked taking it in his direction and a soft kiss on it.
The red tints on her face gave her away. I didn’t even realize when my face wore a frown. I tugged harder at my hands instantly pulling my hands from his.
I cleared my voice, preparing what I had to say.
“I-I need to go, Y-Your Majesty,”
I didn’t even realize I had stuttered, until I was outside, on our new training ground.
