4 - Rumors

2103 Words
Bradon’s POV Monday 10th September Dear Diary I don’t know if I’m elated or pissed because Elly told me what had been happening to her. I’m elated she trusted me enough to tell me, even if it was from the urging of her wolf; whoever she is. I’m also pissed off at how long this has been going on for. I’m pissed at Mum and Dad because they should have stepped in sooner, instead of when she was 14. I’m pissed off with Jamie for hurting her. It’s the worst kind of pain. He took her innocence and, for that, he WILL be punished, because I will make sure of it. I just wanted to write a quick note before class to tell you, Elly hasn’t fully accepted the fact she is my mate and that’s because of the above-mentioned issues. Her wolf still hasn’t shown herself, but she whispers little things. I’m hoping it won’t be long now. We are starting to do more wolf training in our gym class and Elly has been copping some slack because she hasn’t surfaced; mainly from Victoria. I have a feeling she knows more than she is letting on, but I can’t be certain. If she does, all hell is going to break loose one day and I don’t want to be Victoria when that happens. Anyway, I need to get to class. Catch you later. I picked up my training gear, since we had gym class first and walked out of my dorm room towards my locker when my beta Aaron came up to me. “Hey, Brae, have you heard the rumor?” he asked as I turned the lock to open my locker. He was always one for trying to keep up with the gossip. I, on the other hand, didn’t care. “Apparently, Elouise Emerson was prostituting herself over the summer. If the rumor is true, it’s a cry...” I didn’t have time to stop myself; I grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him into the lockers next to me, before he could finish his sentence. “Who told you that?” I screamed into his red face, catching him off guard. “Tell me?” I continued yelling and pushing him into the locker again. “It’s all over the school”, he choked out as I threw him to the floor with a loud snarl. He, of all people, should know not to talk about Elouise like that, regardless that he doesn’t know she’s my mate. “What’s with you?” I bent over him, so only he could hear me; “Never say anything like that again”, I seethed before walking in the opposite direction. I had to find Elouise and make sure she was alright. I ran towards the gymnasium, hoping she would be there. When I walked in, she was sitting on the bleachers; her tear-stained face told me everything I needed to know. I started moving towards her when Jacob walked over to her. “How much for a quick blow job?” he asked as I came up behind him, kicking the back of his legs, causing him to tumble forward, barely stopping himself falling into Elouise's lap. “What the f**k?” I lifted him into the air by his throat; “ANYONE WHO SAYS ONE THING BAD ABOUT ELOUISE, WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME” I yelled, making sure everyone heard me, when someone scoffed to the side of me. I turned my head, to see who it was. Naturally, it was the person who probably started the rumor. I threw Jacob to the ground and ran to Victoria, who was trying to back away quickly, as she felt my aura penetrating from my body. “HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW?” I yelled in her face as she scoffed again. I put my hand around her neck, gripping it tight; “HOW f*****g MUCH?” She started to cough, trying to get air to her lungs, which didn’t faze me. She needed to pay for what she had done. I said I didn’t want to be Victoria when the s**t hit the fan. “Bradon, she’s not worth it”, Elouise said, coming over and putting her hand and my arm. “Just let her go.” I pulled Victoria closer to whisper in her ear; “I know everything and if you keep going, I will make sure I kill you along with your father”, I said before throwing her across the floor as she gasped for air. “I want to tell everyone about us” I continued to whisper, turning to Elouise. I want to put my arms around her. I want her to know I was here, but I promised I wouldn’t. “I know, but we can’t,” she whispered, turning her head slightly to glance at Victoria from the corner of her eye. “I can handle myself.” How the f**k am I going to explain this? I need to stop everyone from talking. I need… I know; “I’ll stop them” I smiled, turning to face everyone in the gymnasium. There seems to be more people than just our class, teachers included. I sucked in a deep breath; “Before anyone gets any ideas, I need to tell you what’s been going on. Elly confided in me that her stepsister was telling people vicious lies about her. One of them was what some of you have heard. As future Alpha, I promised I would stop them from happening, and I failed her terribly…” “How do you know they are rumors?” someone yelled over the top of me, causing me to growl as I looked around the crowd to try and see who it was. They must be slinking away, because I couldn’t see them. Good! They shouldn't question me. “Do you really think if she was prostituting herself, she would have kept it a secret until now?” I answered as everyone started to talk loudly to each other. “You wouldn’t have heard it from Victoria, you would have heard it from her clients. By show of hands, who has been her client?” Everyone stopped talking to look around the gymnasium. I’m glad no-one raised their hand because I would have ripped their throat out, given they would have raped her. “Anyone? At all?” I asked as the crowd kept looking around. “I think the silence speaks for itself. It was nothing but a vicious rumor to smear Elouise’s name.” More murmurs began to echo around the area; “I am only going to tell you this once, as the future Alpha. I need to be able to stop something like this from happening; I didn’t, and I am going to rectify it. If anyone talks ill of Elouise again” I continued, turning to glance at Victoria with a snarl on my face. “That includes calling her anything other than Elouise or Elly” or Luna, I added in my mind. “You will have to face the consequences.” “And if we don’t?” Victoria said, standing up, trying to defy me. This she-wolf has some nerve. “Next time, I won’t let go” I said with a grin as she gulped and started to shuffle backwards. “Mr Hanson, do you mind if Elouise sits out this morning?” “Um” he hesitated as I glared towards him, making sure he agreed. “I suppose so. Do you want to take her to the infirmary?” The infirmary wasn’t what I had in mind, but sure. “I can do that” I said, turning to Elouise, who rolled her eyes at me before we left the gymnasium. “Your room or mine?” I asked as we stepped outside and she stopped walking. “On the sly, naturally. Oscar wants to make sure you’re alright.” “Liar” he laughed as I ignored him. “Oscar, I’m fine” Elouise said as he began to preen in my mind, and we started walking again. I really want to hug her right now, and I can’t do that here. “Chelsea might come in, your room would be better since you went all macho, wanting to save the day.” “My room is always better because I live alone” I said as she stopped walking again. Have I not told her I’ve never had a roommate? “One of the perks of being the future Alpha”, I added with a small grin on my face. “We had better go to the infirmary”, Elouise said, turning down the corridor and into the room as I nodded my head and followed behind her. “Really, I’m fine. I didn’t need to come here.” Huh? “Young Alpha Bradon, what seems to be the matter?” Nurse Linda said, giving me a smile and ignoring Elouise. Oh, she wasn’t talking to me. “There was a slight altercation at the gymnasium and Elouise was asked to come here, but she said she was fine. We can go back” I said, giving her a beaming smile as Elouise stopped herself from rolling her eyes again. I’m getting good at reading that. Actually, I’m surprised because she loves to roll her eyes at everyone. “If you are sure, Miss Emerson”, Nurse Linda said, as Elouise nodded her head while taking a step backwards. “You may go, then.” Elouise turned on her heels, walking out the door quickly as I followed behind her. Where is she going? This isn’t the way to the boy’s dormitories. “Elly, wher…” “Shh” she said as I continued to walk behind her. “Victoria is waiting around the corner. Meet me at our tree after the last period.” What? Why couldn’t I smell someone around the corner? And why didn’t I think about mind linking her? Elouise continued towards the girl’s dormitories as I walked around the corner, directly into Victoria. “What do you want?” I snarled as she placed her phone into her pocket with a smile. “I came to apologize for the misunderstanding”, Victoria replied as I grunted, trying to walk around her before she placed her hand on my arm to stop me. “Wait, you said something about knowing everything? What did you mean by that?” I stared down at her hand as she quickly removed it; “Nothing, I just wanted you to tell me what you have been saying”, I answered as she scoffed again. “I know it was you who spread the rumors. It’s always you and Elly had asked me to stop them.” “Oh, I didn’t really say much”, Victoria cooed innocently, waving her hand at me. “It’s not my fault, those morons took my words the wrong way.” “And what did you say to them?” I asked, trying to hold onto my anger before I grabbed onto Victoria's throat again. “Nothing much” she replied playfully as I sucked in a deep breath, releasing it slowly. “Just that men were coming and going in Smel… Ahh-hmm, I mean Elly’s room throughout the summer. It’s not my fault they jumped to the wrong conclusion.” I can’t counteract that, because it happened without Elouise’s consent. I still don’t know how much she knows. I wish I did, but she could always lie and say she didn’t know the full extent. I need to catch her in it. “Well, it’s not for you to tell anyone anything. If that’s what happened, it’s up to Elouise to let people know.” “Are you calling me a liar?” Victoria gasped, putting her hand on her chest as though it was the worst insult she'd ever received. “How is it that I’m a liar, but Elouise isn’t? I know what I saw…” I growled, making sure she knew she had to stop talking. “Say one more word” I seethed as Victoria smirked, taking a step back. She opened her mouth to speak, before shutting it again as I snarled and walked around her. Anything that comes out of her mouth is not worth listening to, and I’m not going to waste another minute being around Victoria Fitzpatrick.
