Chapter 6: Preparing for the Party (Amy's POV)

My dad was waiting for me in the living room, looking at me with big expectations. As I didn’t say anything right away he asked , “So, how was your first day?” You could hear the hope in his voice, wishing it went great.

“Don’t worry dad, it was fine.” I told him, trying to reassure him. “Actually I made some new friends!” I continued, thinking about asking him if I could go out tonight.

“I knew you would, I’m so glad for that.” he said relieved. He never really was one to handle bad situations. Normally it was my mom who would talk to me and make me smile again. 

“A-and I.. uhm… I wanted to ask you… Since it’s the birthday of this guy in my class, I was wondering that maybe, possibly, I could go out with him, his friend and that girl April.” I asked him, kind of hesitant. 

“Mmmm… and where are you going?” 

“Oh, we are… going to… grab something to eat, yes, and then hang out a little bit.” I said hesitant. I was so scared he would notice I was lying. 

“You know what, it’s fine. Have some fun. I”m just glad you’re already making friends.” He said before adding, “Just be home around 12. Okay?”

“Oh my god, thank you, thank you, thank you! You’re the best!” I said while giving him a kiss on his cheek.

I went to my room and texted April that we were on for tonight. I also told her about the lie I told my dad, so our stories would match. She texted me back right away, saying she was coming over to get ready together. 

And that’s when it hit me… I don’t have a fake ID…  I wouldn’t be able to enter the club since I wasn’t old enough... This sucks.

Before I could call April and tell her I wouldn’t be able to go, I heard our doorbell ring. I heard my dad open the door before calling me “Amy, someones at the door for you!”

I ran downstairs and saw April waiting for me. “Hi, you’re ready for a makeover?” Was the first thing she asked me. My dad was looking at me, hinting me to introduce him. “Dad, this is April, April this is my dad,” I said with a bright smile. 

“So nice to meet you Mr. Adams.” She said while shaking his hand.

“Nice to meet you too,” my father responded, “And you can call me Dave,” he added.

She nodded with a smile on her face before I said “Let’s go!” as I took her hand and pulled her up the stairs and into my room.

After I closed the door, I turned to April and said, “We have a big problem… I don’t have a fake ID!” 

April looked at me with a weird and kind of scary looking smirk on her face as she reached in her pocket while saying, “I already thought of that.” 

She showed me a fake ID that looked so real that it made me wonder where she got it. “How did you know and where did you--” I asked in disbelief before she interrupted me, “I just figured you wouldn’t have a fake ID and my nephew is a pro making them.” 

“Oh my god, this is amazing, you are the best!” was the only thing I could say in response.

We started preparing ourselves. She was putting on her make-up and doing her hair while I was taking a shower and putting on this cute outfit that she brought me. It was a short high waist red skirt with a cute v-neck black spaghetti strap top, that was a little revealing, accompanied with a pair of black ankle boots. While looking in the mirror I couldn’t stop thinking that she had great taste. I looked amazing in this outfit. 

Once I got out of the bathroom, I saw April who looked gorgeous. Her hair was slightly curled and her make-up looked really beautiful. She was wearing a green playsuit with white stripes which looked amazing on her.

She looked at me and nodded in approval, like she was proud of herself. “You look absolutely stunning! Nick isn’t going to know where to look!” she said with a sly smile on her face. 

I felt my cheeks turn red once she mentioned his name. ‘Get it together Amy’ I thought to myself.

“Okay, now sit down, I’m going to do your hair and make-up.” April said while pushing me down into the chair.

It didn’t take long before she was finished and once I looked at my reflection, my mouth just fell open in amazement. I looked irresistible and still so natural! I could hear April chuckle as she saw my reaction. 

“Now as the finishing touch” she said while handing me over a beautiful pair of earrings that matched with the necklace I was wearing before.

“You are ready.” 

“April, thank you, I look amazing!” I said happy.

“Oh, don’t worry about it. It was actually very easy, because you’re already so beautiful!” she said with a wink.

I gave her a heartwarming smile in return. 

“So does Dylan and Nick know I’m coming?” I asked her, breaking the silence.

Her eyes widened, revealing that she forgot to tell them.

“I forgot…” she said looking at the ground before continuing, “But I will text Dylan right away. I’m sure it’s fine.” 

After she sent the text we went out to get something to eat with the guys before leaving for the club.

~ Nick’s POV~

The last hour of school was taking forever, mostly because she was in the class. I did my best ignoring her and Dylan and I sat as far away from her as possible. Her scent was still very strong and it took control over the entire room. Just before the bell rang, Mr. Griffin told us to get these forms, because of a school trip on Monday. Once the bell rang I got my form and ran out as fast as I posible because I couldn’t take any longer being with her in the same room.

I heard Dylan’s footsteps right behind me, trying to keep up, but I didn’t stop until I reached my bike. Then I finally turned to face him and I could see he was catching his breath which made me chuckle. 

“You okay?” I asked him sarcastically.

“Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want… It’s hard keeping up with a werewolf!” He mumbled.

After a few more deep breaths he finally asked, “So for tonight, 7 o’clock at your house? We grab something to eat and then we go to the club? Oh and April is coming as well.” He added hesitantly. 

“Yeah sure, that’s fine.” I said before putting on my helmet. “See you at 7!” I yelled at him while I took off.

Once I got home I went to my room, where Kali was waiting for me. I dropped my stuff before she came to me and started kissing me. I couldn’t help but notice that her scent had changed. She used to smell really good to me, but she was nothing compared to Amy’s scent. And I felt kind of disgusted by her kissing and touching me. 

I pushed her back and told her that I wasn’t in the mood and that I’ve had a long day. She didn’t seem to care as she started kissing me again. This time I pulled her back by her hair and growled at her to get out. She had a mixed look on her face, between anger and disappointment and I could hear a whimper escape her lips before she left.

I just needed some peace and quiet after everything that happened today. I laid on my bed and I could feel myself dozing off just as I heard a knock on my door. 

I let out a loud growl as I got up and went to open the door to see who it was. Accalia was standing in the door opening, looking at me with the same expression as this morning before I left. 

“What?!” I asked her, annoyed for disturbing me.

 “We need to talk!” She responded angry.

I rolled my eyes before I let her in and closed the door behind her. We sat down on my bed and I could feel her angry gaze fixated on me.

“Okay, before you say anything, I just send Kali--” before I could finish she interrupted me.

“Why Nick, why would you do this. You are going to feel sorry for it once you find your mate.” she sounded more disappointed than angry at this moment.

I knew she was right though. Seeing my mate today made me feel bad that I slept with Kali. 

“I already did.” I said under my breath, hoping she wouldn’t hear me.

“What are you talking about?” she asked, confused.

“I think I found my mate…” I told her while looking at the ground.

“Oh my god Nick, that’s amazing! Who is she?” She suddenly sounded happier and excited.

“I’m not sure if I’m right about it… There’s this new girl in school, Amy--”

“Wait, she is human?” my sister asked with her eyes widened in surprise, while interrupting me again.

I nodded with a desperate look on my face. “Oh, wow, I didn’t see that coming.” Accalia answered. 

It went silent for a moment until she asked, “And you are sure she is your mate?” 

“I don’t know… How did you know with Alex?” I asked her.

“Oh… Well, first off all his scent. He smelled like my favorite fragrances and I could hear a voice in my head saying ‘Mate’. And when we touched… I could feel sparks all over my body, it was something I had never felt before.” She said with her eyes closed, like she tried to remember the first time she saw him.

“Mmmm…” I didn’t know what to say.

“So did anything like that happen?” Accalia asked me all of a sudden.

“Well, I haven’t touched her yet but she did smell amazing and if I’m being honest, I heard the voice as well.” I confessed. 

“So this girl really is your mate! I can’t wait to meet her!” She yelled out excited.

“I can’t bring her here… She has no idea we even exist.” 

“Don’t worry, you’ll find the right way to tell her. I believe in you, you can do this.” she said comfortingly.

“I don’t know, today was so hard… Just her scent and her presence made my wolf go crazy and try to take control. I even almost shifted during class.” I told her with my head in my hands.

 “Nick, the moon goddess never makes mistakes… She must have chosen a human for you because she knows you can handle it. I know you can handle it. You’re strong, even stronger than dad and I know you are going to be a great Alpha… So having a human as your mate isn’t going to stop you! You’re a fighter and most of all you’re my baby brother. Together we can get through anything.” She said with a determined look before kissing me on the cheek and leaving me alone with my thoughts.

After a while, I decided to get ready for tonight and try to forget about Amy, which wasn’t going to be easy…

I took a shower, put on some clothes and brushed my teeth before heading downstairs. 

It was almost 7 and I could hear Dylan’s car park up in front. 

I grabbed my stuff and went outside so we could leave right away.

“Let’s go, I don’t wanna make April wait.” He said.

I chuckled before I got in his car.

“So where are we going?” I asked him curiously.

“Oh you’ll see.” He responded before taking off. I couldn’t help but notice he was kind of nervous. Probably because of April I thought to myself.
