Growing Suspicions

I woke up around 7pm. I needed something to drink and heard my phone start to ring. I see Kai's name on the caller ID. When I answer, I hear a woman's voice followed by shushing. More Shushing.
Me: Is that a girl I hear?
Kai: Yeah. It's Mr. Elec's wife.
Me: Oh ok. But why would you be telling your boss' wife to shush?
Kai: She said she was going to tell you how all I do is talk about you any chance I get. I miss you princess.
Me: No you don't.
Truthfully, I miss Kai, but I'm too mad at him to admit that. I looked at my engagement ring, wondering if it was too soon. Maybe we weren't ready for this. I think again about what Monica said about Kai not being right for me.
Kai: Come over tonight.
Me: Its late.
Kai: I'm coming to get you right now.
Before I can protest anymore, he's already hung up. I do miss him and want to see him. I started packing an overnight bag. I put on a cute pair of jean shorts and a t-shirt. He texts he's downstairs and I leave the apartment. I bumped into the guy from earlier. He's with the creepy girl they saved me from. When he sees me, he smiles that smile that would get me in trouble. His little fangs just stand out so much when he smiles. I shook the thought from my head again.
Me: Liam? Is that you?
Liam: Melanie! Hey. How's it going? What are you doing here?
Me: I'm OK and I live here. What about you?
Liam: Same. Just visiting my sister.
Me: This is your sister?
Liam: Yeah. Gwen, this is Melanie.
She reached out to shake my hand. I extended my hand and shook hers. I looked between the two of them. I see the resemblance but still can't wrap my head around them being related. How are they related? He's nice and she's a psycho. I feel an arm wrapped around my waist.
Kai: What's taking so long princess?
He looks up and glares daggers at Gwen. Then he looks at Liam and does the same. I feel the hostility and try to stop it. It's cute seeing him possibly get jealous. But I don't want anyone to fight or argue.
Me: Kai, this is Liam and his sister--
Kai: Gwen.
Liam: Do you have a problem with my sister?
Kai: Actually I do. She--
I covered Kai's mouth. Gwen looks at her brother. I wonder if he truly knows what his sister is like. I still see Kai staring daggers at both of them.
Me: Babe, we should get going. Bye Liam, bye Gwen.
I grabbed his hand and rushed Kai away from them. We got out of the apartment and Kai looked at me. He looks me up and down. As if I did something wrong. I threw my arms around him and gave him a kiss to lighten the mood.
Kai: What the hell was that? Who was that guy?
Me: Are you jealous?
Kai: I have no reason to be jealous. Your marrying me. If anyone is jealous, it's the one that can't have the goddess I was blessed with.
Me: Awww.
Kai: But what was that reaction just now towards them?
Me: Let the past be the past.
Kai: Whatever, let's go. I can't wait to have you all to myself.
We get in the car and leave to his apartment. I look back and see Liam with Gwen walking. I'll have to apologize next time I see him for how Kai reacted.
We get to Kai's place, and we go straight to his room. He starts kissing me immediately. He lays me on the bed and starts undressing me. His hands roam my body. God, how I missed his touch. Before I knew it, I was completely naked. He looks down at me.
Me: What?
Kai: Nothing, it's just you're so damn beautiful.
Me: Oh stop.
Kai: Let me grab a condom. I can't wait to feel you again baby.
I sit up as he reaches over to open the drawer. I saw a pair of panties there. They look exactly like the ones from our anniversary.
Me: Kai? Whose panties are these?
Kai: Yours.
Me: Uh-huh. There's a problem with that. I haven't been here since we came back and those are in the dirty clothes back at home.
Kai: No, they were put in my suitcase. And when I got home, I put them in there.
I'm a hundred percent sure they are at home. But maybe there aren't. I ignored the confusion going on, and we continued our night he planned. Making love until i can't take anymore and fall asleep.
I wake up in the middle of the night and Kai's gone. His spot in bed is cold. Which means he's been gone a while. Where would he have gone at four in the morning? I stayed awake waiting for him. It's now 6am. Kai tries to quietly come into the room after being gone for two hours. I'm sitting up in bed with my arms crossed. I get a huge whiff of alcohol and cheap perfume. His speech is slurred.
Kai: Heyyyy babe. Your up.
Me: WHAT THE HELL KAI? ITS 6AM! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Kai: I went to the store.
Me: For 2 hours?!
I climb out of bed and get dressed. I grabbed my bag and overnight bag. He sits on the bed next to me while I put my shoes on. I stood up and headed to the door. He steps in front me.
Kai: Baby, please. Calm down babe. I was out with Leon. He was upset and asked if I wanted to go out. I didn't want to wake you.
Me: Don't you "calm down babe" me! This was supposed to be OUR night!
I pushed him out of the way and left the room. I see Leon asleep on the couch. I'm angry with both of them. Him for asking Kai to go and Kai for going and not telling me. I'm at the door when he rushes up to me.
Kai: I'll drive you home.
Me: Your f*****g drunk! No, thanks.
I started walking home. When I arrived, Liam was outside taking pictures. He puts his camera down and smiles at me. f**k ! He has no clue what that does to me.
Liam: Hey Melanie.
Me: Hi.
I walk past him when he grabs my arm. I looked down at his hand. His touch is so firm but soft. He quickly snatches it away. I woudn't have been mad if he left it there if i wasn't already in a bad mood.
Liam: Sorry. Is everything OK?
Me: I'll be fine.
Liam: Would you like to grab a coffee with me?
I want to say no. But with how mad I am, I agree. We walk to his car, and he opens the door for me. I get in, and he closes it, getting in the driver's side. He starts the car up and asks me to put my seat belt on. I do just that, and we drive off to a coffee shop.
