Destiny Voyage- Finally In! 3.0
Yes Raiden wondered how she was doing with that close friend of hers. Right from the start as they entered the city and she stared at the flock of women- he knew. The girl was as attentive as a small puppy let on a potty break- she never looked at the same thing once. Until that time when she had stared at the handsome white-haired young man for more than a minute as if deciphering the person’s identity and tried to figure it all out.
At first he assumed that she thought the young man was attractive- but it seemed Sora was one to care less of appearances. If you had a pretty young woman like Cosette flocking and smothering you- it would not take an i***t to realize that he had some amount of good looks and genes. Honestly even Haichi could be dubbed as a very handsome young man.
He was the small and blithe boy- somewhat shorter than him but still higher than Cosette. The man’s dark brown hair contrasted Sora’s light milk chocolate hair ( Haichi:*salivates* chocolate) and he had expressive and large green eyes that absorbed everything in with such enthusiasm. Haichi drew inspiration from his surroundings and created wonderful things from mere natural resources.
A good example was Cosette’s battling staff. It was rarely used for hitting and more of harnessing her life force and streaming it in an unadulterated energy beam that paid no heed to any elemental force. Naturally Cosette was a person who used water and electricity- a very deadly combination. However with her staff she can procure an energy beam that gave damage to whatever elemental user they faced. It was a natural blessing in disguise from Haichi.
Picking up sticks and stones- they discovered a very ancient tree in a holy mountain that was sacred for everybody. However it often attacked passer-by as its elder state often mistook normal travellers as unholy objects. They had managed to subdue that old mossy tree thankfully for Cosette’s lightning bolts that she struck with key precision and timing. It enabled the tree to be restored to its full youth surprisingly.
They were rewarded with a young and leafy oak tree that was to be transformed into automatic lumber when they wished. The tree’s name was Leafy. Haichi loved that tree so much- it attracted tiny blue birds to rest on its branches. He loved it despite not bearing any fruit for them and no matter how much Raiden wished for wood fire. Haichi learned the song of the trees and the music of the wind thanks to Leafy.
His cherished and dearest friend Leafy
Until one day they had stumbled into the stone hedge area. They had been given a B rank mission to search for a mystical stone to be used as jewellery. There had been too many rock golems that arrived. Raiden’s sword clattered in futility. They could not be pierced or slain by the sword. Lightning did hardly anything to strike them down. Water only managed to stall them as they were swept away and only returned.
Haichi was cornered as they tried to escape. Desperate to find the jewel and tricked by a shining ray of the sun on a much crystalized stone. They had managed to stall him long enough and got separated from Cosette and Raiden. Leafy was already far ahead. He had nowhere to run- this was not at all fun. He screamed and yelped. Desperate for any kind of help to be offered by someone present in the vicinity and hear his cries for help.
A small and tiny golem child felt pity and begged for him to be released. He was chastised and ridiculed instead. Haichi gave him a grateful smile as small gems and jewels were present in the stone golem’s eyes. Tears it would appear- very shining. He laughed a bit at how the jewel they needed must have been located at the heart of one of the golem. That must be why they were so aggressive with them and sought to destroy in fear of their own deaths.
It was understandable.
He wished that he had known that earlier and just had made jokes enough to make the golems cry the mystical stone. Now it was his time to retreat into the heavens they called it. A safe haven for the kind and just people- Haichi wished to go there. He did not believe he was evil enough to be sent into the hellish realm of brimstone and never ending fire. He prayed for the safety of his own soul. He would never be able to confess. . .
“No!!!!” a cry from a woody creature disassembled the crowd as a rampaging tree encroached them. From its small and distinctly leafy appearance the golems laughed in ridicule- however it grew. The small and tiny young tree grew and grew into a gigantic and monstrous tree that made Raiden and Cosette be stuck in stupor at its magnificence. The tree lunged at the golem rocks and enveloped it within its branches and crushed them with amazing strength.
Only the tiny golem child was spared for its kindness.
Haichi laughed and cried at the same time in relief. Who knew that Leafy was this so strong- such a shame to be turned into a lumber no doubt. He would shove that fact in Raiden’s face for all day long. He reached one of Leafy’s branches and pats it in gratitude. “Thanks for saving me buddy. You’re a great help.” He said to Leafy and smiled happily. The tree did not reply and merely growled in approval of being patted- its leaves swaying in tune to the hum of the wind.
His eyes widened in understanding. Leafy was a small monster tree that stopped itself from growing- superbly afraid of becoming a complete ferocious monster that could no longer communicate with his friends and family. Now he completed his growth to save him- to save this stupid little creative boy who could not defend himself. So now Leafy could not talk and only growl. Haichi’s eyes welled up with tears. “No. Please.” He said as he shook the branch weakly.
“Come back Leafy. Come back.” He said annoyed the tree as it gave him a growl. Its bleary and empty eyes staring at him as the tree continued to grow and become feral. The tree used one of its branches to push him gently away. Haichi wouldn’t back down and continue shaking the tree and tried to snap it back to normal.”Haichi get back.” Cosette told him urgently. “Get back NOW!” Raiden said as the tree lost its mind and slammed Haichi into a cliff. Cosette let out a shriek as she gathered her life force and exploded in terror.
“Hydra whip!” she said as water exploded from every grass and shrubbery in the vicinity and headed towards the cliff.

So this was how he was going to die.
A dramatic fall to his death caused by his own dear friend.
Haichi only wished for no sharp rocks at the end.
He wasn’t going to be lucky.
They were in the Stone hedge- of course there would be freaking pointy rocks at cliffs!
He screamed.
He yelled.
He shouted out his love for Cosette.
Lastly he called out Leafy’s name.
“I forgive you Leafy!!!!!” he said as tears streamed down his eyes.
They fell faster onto the ground by law of gravity and were soaked into the ground.
He laughed as he wished that he had his life stream before his eyes.
His mother was definitely going to kill Raiden.
That meant he wouldn’t be that lonely for so long.
He only wished that Cosette would decide to be a nun.
Woosh!
A splash of cool and refreshing feeling jostled him. He looked around him and nearly screamed but held back in fear of losing air. He was enveloped in water and was being drawn out from the cliff. No doubt thanks to Cosette. His brows furrowed in worry. This would take so much of Cosette’s life force and leave her faint- he wished Raiden was by her side. He had doubts though and knew that Raiden would not realize that Cosette saved him and attack the tree with kill intent.
“Leafy!!!!” he cried out the tree’s name as he reached the edge and was thrown onto the parched grass. Cosette drew the water from her surroundings so every grass and plant was dried up to its roots. That was how destructive her powers were. Lives in exchange for his stupid and helpless one- the young man cursed his weakness. Cosette fell onto the ground and lost consciousness. She was content to see him alive.
Haichi urged himself to get up and crawl towards Cosette. Where was Raiden? He could face off a tree better right?
Raiden was slammed into the tiny rock golem child by a whip from a tree branch of Leafy. The monster growled and dug its roots into the ground and soaked up the remaining water to boost itself some more. Haichi could not imagine the ferocity a small little oak tree could have given. Perhaps that was why it wanted to stay as a small child forever. Nestled in the back of Haichi and the soothing song of the wind to hum it to sleep and rest peacefully.

I could no longer withstand it anymore seeing the destruction.
My brethren had all been killed by the tree in longing to set the boy free.
This happening is such a misery.
They should have listened to me. . .
I have no more capacity.
This must end now!
I let out my own guttural roar.
I looked at the orange-haired warrior and nodded my head.
He responded with a nod and ran towards the tree. I slammed my fist and cracked the ground. He whipped out his gigantic black sword and crashed it into the open and barren ground. “Shining Black Meteor Rush!” he screamed out a sword move that surprised me. Rare were elements pertaining to astral bodies that took great amount of life force. The ground started to turn to charred dusk as the monster Leafy disassembled from the ground and whip a branch at me.
I stabbed it with one of my stone arms that I shaped into a sharp dagger. I pierced into his woody flesh as it howled in anger. The warrior came running forward as branches swooped all around him. He dodged one and slipped under the other. Sliced one branch and cut the other. He tumbled into the air and landed on the branch as he started running to the heart of the tree. Its tree trunk was now the heart as the roots were turned to charred dusk.
Amazingly it was still alive.
Sunlight was also its source of life.
I slammed my foot on the ground as the crumbles of my fallen comrades toppled one after the other and created a small rocky dome that trapped the monster and warrior. The monster smashed and escaped it in fear of death. I sighed as the crumble turned to ashes and was swept by the wind. No more remains of my brothers and no hopes of any returning. I was losing hope as well.
Not the warrior though as he saw his fallen comrade. The young man who was nearly crushed by us golems and the female who saved his life in exchange for giving an extreme amount of her life force. She had also brought the death of several plant species here as my feet felt the parched grass that withered. It gave the warrior the courage to continue fighting as its sword pierced the branch and slashed the branch in a deep cut as it dared approach closer to the centre of the tree.
The tree continued to attack the man with other branches who simply evaded them as he suddenly drew his sword from the branch and jumped into the mid-air. The just saved boy let out a small scream of protest as he yelled “Raiden please stop!!!!” tears welled up in his eyes and a gross sob emanating from his lips. The warrior- now known as Raiden- sighed and lifted his sword in the air. “Dark Night Overcast!” he called out as in a second the world seemed to have rotated as everything went pitch black.
The sound of tree slashing and branches springing with sharp speed emanated everywhere and I mean everywhere. A yelp of pain from a female voice had erupted and soon the sun seemed to shake back the dark and murky night sky as we saw the warrior readying his finishing strike and ran at maximum speed toward the nearly splintered oak tree. It was ripped and slashed open. A small orb of green light in the middle of the trunk was finally exposed and ready to be destroyed.
Raiden let out a ferocious scream as he went out to strike the green orb with amazing strength and vitality. Haichi choked back a sob as he looked at the nearly broken and torn apart tree which gave him a big woody smile and weakly reached out a spare branch towards him. Slowly but surely it forced it to grow longer and reach out but it was too late to reach him in time and instead a small leaf popped out and joined the whistling of the wind and landed on Haichi’s head.
The young man busted in tears as he held out Cosette whose shoulder had been impaled in the dark fight during the night. It didn’t matter much to him right now as she lived in a household of healers. “Leafy.” He said, his body shaking and tree replied. “H-Haichi.” It croaked out his name before his own death at the hands of Raiden who impaled the green orb with his obsidian black sword and destroyed it on impact as the monstrous tree exploded all around them.
I look at them in relief and sadness as well- I could no longer take it and approached the one called Haichi and looked at him. “Please end my life and take the mystical stones within me to heal your broken heart and injured comrade.” I said and held out my hand towards the dark-haired boy who looked at me with a sad smile and knocked on my head. “Be free. Join your family.” He told me and I smiled and whispered a small thank you as I crumbled into ashes.
Left behind were stones. The heftiest of them became the mystical orb that transmuted Cosette’s life force into an energy beam.
The staff was made out of the wood of Leafy and carved by Haichi’s own hands.
We experienced a lot during that time.
Haichi and everyone grew emotionally.
