Destiny Voyage- Encroaching Deadline
“Well she said she had to be somewhere…” Cosette pointed out softly as Raiden continued to polish his dark colored blade. “That can be done for another day right?” he told her while nonchalantly shrugging at her words, he expected her to be worried at Haichi and not Sora really.
The young maiden sighed softly and flipped her golden colored hair. “If a girl says she needs to be somewhere then she has to be there.” She spoke bluntly and coldly before sashaying out of the room. “I’ll be visiting my family today if you need me- I’d rather not have you contact me though.” She called out to the male while her lips were turned down slightly.
“I have important matters to attend to.” Cosette’s shoulders slumped and she closed the door with a thud and left the male to himself.
“What did I even do wrong?” Raiden questioned himself miserly and massaged his forehead; the tension was clearly present to him. “It was a good chance to earn a week’s living in exchange for a little time and now they all hate me for it.” He groaned slightly in protest to no one.
“Argh fine I’ll help Sora out of the bind.” His lips pursed into a small pout to no one in particular as he got up and rubbed his shoulder, they ached a bit but he had to go.
“This better be worth it.” The young male grumbled with his lips frowning and he stepped onto the ledge of the window before letting himself out of the window. Dramatic as usual

“Aw you look absolutely beautiful~” the mother grinned happily as her blue colored eyes looked at Sora wearing a fluffy white dress. “We’ll take that.” She ushered the sales attendant to place an exact copy at the shopping cart he was pushing around the boutique they were currently in.
“Oh how about this one!” the woman gushed as her legs dove to another aisle of clothing- dragging Sora by the elbow. Meanwhile, Haichi in boredom was simply following after them.
They had been shopping for outfits for an hour or two now and that’s just the first stop. They had to buy shoes and jewels and even grocery too. It was going to take forever to do that as far as he was concerned.
‘Oh goodness!’ he forgot about the makeup too and hair accessories too. He wouldn’t be able to withstand that much time in shopping. No matter how effeminate other people claim him to be.
“Hey mom?” Haichi called out as he dragged his feet to his mother tiredly. “Can we go eat mid-lunch or brunch or something? Just even a snack even please.” He clasped his hands together, trudging beside them as his mother proceeded to grab and throw dress after dress into Sora’s ever sore arms to try all of them on.
The young woman however sheepishly smiled with her cheeks tainted in red, her heart was bursting in appreciation to the woman who was buying her so many clothes right now- a shopping spree she could never afford herself.
Her thoughts flew to the gentleness of older female figures she had experienced time with. Well mostly one
. . .
Her hair kept getting in the way as she dusted the old rusty rack of her display rack. Cough. Sniff. Sneeze. It was really getting out of control- both the dust balls and her frizzy locks. Rose from the other stall merely gave her an eyebrow raise as the woman had completely preened red locks and was combing it simply with her fingers out of amusement.
“Hey have you tried brushing that at all?” the young pre-teen girl giggled at her while the little girl stayed gruff and continued with her work. “Hey Sora-chan~?” Rose called out to her once more playfully. “What?!” she frowned ready to hear more criticism. “Want me to do your hair?” the young Rose offered with a tilt of her head and small smile.
“Fine- let’s see if you can actually tame any of it.” Was Sora’s slightly embarrassed reply and the young Rose merely laughed and headed over.
10 minutes of brushing.
“Ooh look at how silky your hair looks now- super glossy.” Rose grinned as she brushed Sora’s hair. “Gee… thanks Rose.” Sora managed to squeak out as she looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair had been brushed down completely and all neat without any strand flying around.
“Oh no problem- would you mind if I braid your hair?” the little young woman grinned and Sora cringed. “Suure.” She stated while Rose rolled her eyes. “You should say no when you don’t want to okay?” she lectured the younger girl.
“One must not be forced into doing something they don’t like- so how about this? How about a pony tail? It’s functional as well as fashionable.” She asked the younger girl while Sora smiled a little. ”Okay let’s do that.” She agreed.

“Gah if only I knew how to put Rose’s teachings into practice then everything would be okay.” Sora inwardly heaved her chest. ‘So okay if a guy asks you to give him a-’ Rose’s words came resounding back and Sora blinked her jade green eyes. “Okay maybe not everything.” She muttered to herself with a sweat drop on her brow.
“Hmm what is it dear? Are you not feeling hungry yet?” Haichi’s mom beckoned the young woman with her eyes gleaming at the idea of continuing her shopping with Sora, she was sure they were getting closer than ever. Sora shook her head and smiled politely, “Oh please let us get something to eat- I’m worried about Haichi getting famished.” She replied to the mother who simply oohed and wowed at such a thoughtful response she had.
“You are so kind- let’s go grab something to eat then.” The woman nodded and headed out of the boutique. “You’re really wife material~” she giggled as the other female and young male wanted to sink into their knees and beg for mercy at the moment. Both glanced at one another- taking each other’s crumbling looks of horror, they were both desperate for this time to end and could not bear the image of the other donning a wedding gown even if they were both sure that the children would be cute brunettes.
And yes, Sora imagined Haichi wearing a wedding gown. If anything, she was the male who wore the pants that’s for sure.

“If I was Haichi’s mom where would I be?” Raiden tilted his head while slightly rubbing his chin as he walked around a random street somewhat lost and confounded with all the boutiques and stores that one’s eyes can feast on.
As he continued to walk, he bumped into another figure.
“Ugh. Watch where you’re going.” Raiden grumbled in annoyance and his green eyes bore at the stranger who was in front of him.
The other male grinned sheepishly, one canine tooth slightly protruding. “Sorry man, I’m in a hurry.” He chuckled sheepishly and jumped into an alley.
Raiden quirked his brow at the response and started to wonder- no need for that though.
More than fifty women pushed past him like a herd trying to find something it seemed. The male no need to guess.
What else could they have been searching for? A shoe sale perhaps- that was unlikely. The earlier male and the squad of girls were two socks put together. He breathed a sigh of relief as the last girl waved past him and into another street. He quirked a brow, why did she even have to wave at him?
“Whoo. I’m safe. Thanks man for not telling my position.” The young man began stretching his arms as he went out of the dark alley and back onto the streets.
He took off a banana peel from his shirt and Raiden simply grimaced at the man who hid in a dumpster. “Yeah it’s not a problem.” He curtly replied and began to look around again for any signs of the trio who might have been wandering around.
“I’m Robin- you are?” the male started to introduce himself and ask for the other teen’s identity. “I’m Raiden.” He replied and Robin grinned once more, extending his hand.
“It’s nice to meet you. Really.” He smiled a bit at him while Raiden cringed slightly at the hand. “I’d rather not shake your hand.” He stated and the man looked at his hand before laughing slightly.
“Okay I get it clean freak.” Robin chuckled. “It’s nice to meet you “too”” he told Raiden and looked around.
“What are you looking around for?” the white haired questioned. “The coast is pretty much clear now.” He told him while Raiden shook his head.
“I’m looking for someone.” The young warrior briefly stated. “Ooh a girl?” Robin teased while Raiden’s cheeks heated up at the suggestiveness of the tone.
“Yes but not because of what you’re thinking!” he replied immediately making Robin laugh.
“I didn’t even say anything yet.” Robin reminded him and patted Raiden’s armour. “I’m hoping that the girl you’re looking for isn’t in my crowd or else you’re done for.” He chuckled before stretching a bit.
“Well I got to go- women herd to hide. And a woman I need to find.” The man smiled briefly before waving his hand towards Raiden.
“Let’s cross paths again someday.” He uttered to Raiden and walked away, disappearing in the crowd of people before them.
Raiden’s lips curved slightly upwards, he was somewhat enthralled by that confident young man but then began to make an annoyed face as he realized a dump stain on his armour that was shaped from the other man’s hand.
That man! He’d certainly cross paths with him that’s for sure- cross swords with him even! (Rose: Pft, cross swords! *laughs* )
He once more began to search for his two mates with the reviling woman.

“Mmm… this tastes very nice.” Sora told Haichi’s mom as she ate some pancakes alongside sunny side up eggs and a glass of cucumber juice.
“Yeah this is a good kind of breakfast to eat.” Haichi agreed as he scoured down bacon strips and sipped his orange juice. “Yum! Delicious food.” He grinned at his mother, glad to have finally been allowed to eat once more.
“I’m glad you guys are enjoying your meals.” His mother replied happily as she bit into her Belgian chocolate waffle doused in maple syrup and decorated with French butter. ”I know I’m enjoying mine.” She laughed a bit as they continued to devour down their meals.
“We should eat out every time like this.” Haichi told his mother with a small smile. “Well you’re the one who’s not going to our home to eat breakfast.” The mother pouted at her child who then immediately regretting mentioning the idea. ‘Why?’ Sora internally wondered.
“Mom I stay at Raiden’s to help him feel more comfortable here plus I want to eat food from my sweat, blood and tears.” Haichi explained while his mother simply made a face. “You’ll be eating unhealthily then I suppose.” She managed to speak quietly.
“Income is still not good enough since you’re starting out- please don’t hesitate to invite you and your friends at our little abode.” She told him and Sora.
“Mo—“ Haichi began to while but was covered by Sora. “Really?”she spoke in amazement. “That sounds great. We’re really gracious for your offer and would like to take it even though it might hurt some people’s pride.” Sora quickly interjected somewhat salivating at sunny side up and pancakes and refreshing cucumber juices every day for breakfast.
“Ha ha that’s good to hear. Raiden is a good boy and he has a lot of honour plus along with that is a very prideful spirit. It’s good to see people who are level headed enough.” Haichi’s mom told her fondly while Haichi groaned inwardly. Raiden wasn’t going to like it not one bit.
“Hmm…. Why thank you ma’am for the compliment.” A male’s voice interjected while Haichi almost choked on his food. “R-Raiden!” he squeaked. “Hey Haichi.” He greeted in monotone then glanced at Sora plainly. “Sora.” He spoke aloofly while the girl inwardly grimaced. Crap he must have heard everything.
It was bad news for Sora that it seemed that the male arrived just at the worst possible timing. Although she was bit thankful for the interruption since it might lead to her freedom to search for her childhood friend.
“Well hello there Raiden. I do hope that you find no offense in the last part.” The older woman laughed slightly embarrassed at being caught in gossip. “Pride is often a two-edged sword if you may have noticed.” She remarked thoughtfully.
The young man smiled frostily. “Yes I am clearly aware of that. Although I have to clarify that it is not about pride or conceit.” He told them calmly. “I am more concerned with bringing honour to my clansmen and showing the principles instilled by my family. One of them is learning to be independent and not to rely on other people for simple things like sustenance.” He explained as if talking to children.
The woman’s face heated up at being talked down. “Oh Raiden I am merely trying to be a good mother to Haichi. He is not as independent as you are or able to live his life in self-regulated manners as you are.” She fumed slightly at him in protest.
“Well-” Raiden began but was cut off surprisingly by the often mouse like Haichi. “Yes mom- we all know how weak and wimpy I really am. That’s why I like being with Raiden since I get the chance to stand up on my own two feet for once.” He told her delicately with a soft smile.
The mother was really touched by her son’s words of maturity and concern for her. Instead of letting her and Raiden bicker around each other, the young man stopped it with sheer wit and confidence. Her son was really growing up.
“Oh Haichi!” she remarked and hugged him tightly her voice quivering. “You’re growing up so fast that it scares your mother very much.” She admitted and hugged him even tighter as the woman began sobbing instantly.
“Mom…. I’m scared too!” Haichi told her while tears also dripped down his cheeks as he returned the hug of his mother.
Raiden shook his head at the scene as several people glanced their way. Sora looked awkwardly and approached Raiden. She hesitantly tugged the sleeve of his shirt. “Hey Rai..” she spoke quietly as the man looked at her a bit dumbfounded.
“I think we should give the two some alone time.” She told him with a determined look.
The man wanted to outright face-palm. She had just wanted to leave that’s for sure.
