Chapter 7••Bonfire

Alisa POV “What should I wear Alex? I don’t want to give the wrong impression!” “I don’t know, just wear anything,” Alex grumbled. He was no use. I huffed, sinking down onto the bed when Aunt June walked in looking happy. “Here sweetie, wear this.” Aunt June smiled, holding a dress out to me. I took it from her and looked at it. It was a dark forest green halter neck summer dress, it looked like something a Greek goddess would wear. It was short but not too short. It would come to just above my knees. “Wow, it's gorgeous, Aunt June. Thank you.” I jumped up, giving her a hug as I took the dress from her and held it out, admiring it. “I saw it when I was out today and thought it would be perfect for you,” she smiled her sweet and loving smile at me. “You didn’t have to do that.” “Nonsense. If I can’t spoil my beautiful niece what has the world come to?” “Thank you, Aunt June, you're the best.” “I know,” she chuckled as she kissed me on top of my head. “Great, now get ready!” Alex moaned whilst glancing at his phone. “Ok, moody!” I had the perfect sandals to go with the dress, so I quickly got them out of the closet. They were gold strappy flats with a band that wrapped halfway up my calf. I opted to go for a minimal look with my make up and kept it light and I put a Dutch braid in my hair so that it looked like my hair was a headband that wrapped around my head running underneath my hair as it got to my neck, I didn’t look too bad. As I was walking downstairs, I could hear Finn asking why he couldn’t go to the bonfire. “That’s not fair. Why can Blake go but I can’t!” “Because Blake is old enough and ugly enough to look after himself.” My Uncle cooly replied. “Grrrrr!” he slammed something down onto the table in the center of the room and stormed off, passing me on the stairs. “Hey Lis, you look nice.” Blake complimented me as I walked into the kitchen. “Thanks Blake, not too bad yourself. Are we ready?” “Yes finally!” Alex was acting like I had taken hours to get ready. “Have fun, but not too much fun. Alex and Blake, look after your cousin!” Aunt June warned. “We will,” Alex said as he kissed her on the cheek goodbye. Blake followed and walked out behind Alex. I stood looking at her, feeling nervous. “Do you think I’m overdressed?” “No sweetie, all the kids dress like that for the bonfires you will fit right in.” “Are you sure?” she nodded her head yes. “Ok thanks Aunt June, love you.” “Love you too, sweet girl. Now go before Alex blows his gasket that boy has no patience.” I chuckled and quickly kissed her cheek goodbye and ran outside through the back door like Alex and Blake did. They were standing by a gate at the back of the garden that looked like it led to the forest, waiting for me. When we finally got to the lake, the bonfire was already lit and roaring away. There were people everywhere and music playing from goddess only knows where. “This is amazing! How did you get all this set up so fast?” I asked Alex, as I looked around in awe. “You say the word bonfire and everyone is ready to go. They all bring everything and set it all up in no time.” “Wow really?” I looked around at all the people and noticed a few of the girls giving me dirty looks. “Why am I getting evil looks from everyone?” “Don’t worry, they're just jealous because you're with us,” Blake said, leaning slightly toward my ear so I could hear him. “Oh well, let’s go meet everyone. Maybe once they know I’m not the competition, they’ll be nice.” “Probably.” Alex chuckled. He was right. She wolves were not very welcoming to newcomers who they thought would take what was theirs. I parted away from Alex and Blake. People weren’t really interested in talking to me when they were around. Everyone was watching my every move and it was kind of nerve-wracking. I introduced myself to a few people who weren't giving me the side-eye, one in particular, was a girl named Jordyn, she was stunning she had beautiful olive skin and dark brown hair that was cut in a fashionable bob, it was shorter at the back and longer at the front, it was very sleek and glossy, she had the brownest eyes with flecks of gold in them. I heard a familiar voice behind me. “Well hello there miss Alisa, what a pleasure it is to see you again.” Shaun stood there with the cheesiest grin plastered on his face. “Shaun, it’s a pleasure to see you again.” “The pleasure is all mine, doll.” He winked at me, making me smile back. “You fancy taking a walk with me? I promise to be a true gentleman,” he asked. I wasn’t sure something was telling me to stay put. But I’m just too damn polite. “Ok, sure I’ll see you soon, Jordyn.” I waved bye to my new friend as I walked away. Shaun walked me around to the other side of the lake so we were looking in on the party from the opposite side. No one was around here. “It’s a little quieter over here. I can actually hear that beautiful voice of yours.” I couldn’t stop the eye roll even if I tried. “Sorry, that was cheesy.” “Yes, it was.” We both started laughing. Suddenly the air grew thick with anticipation. People on the other side of the lake started to move out of the way of someone. “Alpha.” They all said and bowed their heads as a sign of respect. “I believe we are here tonight to welcome someone. Where is the guest of honor?” he loudly said whilst looking across the lake straight into my eyes. I couldn’t breathe. It was like my head stopped working and couldn’t remember the simplest things like breathing. Alpha Cameron was absolutely stunning, his deep blue eyes had a sparkle in them, his lips looked so sweet and juicy, his blonde hair was messy but it looked like it was supposed to be that way and it suited him, he had stubble on his rugged and beautifully sculpted chin, even through his shirt you could see his muscles trying to escape their confines, like his clothes where a hindrance and shouldn’t be there. Oh my goddess, what is wrong with me? I needed to snap out of this. I’m pretty sure he asked me a question. “Sorry Alpha Cameron, I didn't hear what you said.” Nope, because I wasn’t paying attention. I was mentally undressing you instead. “I said welcome, Alisa. I hope you enjoy your stay with us.” “Thank you, Alpha.” I bowed my head to him and straightened back up. “Shaun, I need a word with you please.” “Yes, Alpha.” He replied. “I’ll catch you later Alisa.”
