Cam POV
Walking through the crowd was like the Red Sea parting for me. I'd seen her walk away with one of the pack warriors Shaun. I was not happy.
My wolf was ready to come out and rip him apart. I needed to calm down first.
I took a deep breath and felt my wolf relax slightly.
I stood at the other side of the lake to give myself some distance.
For now.
She was truly breathtaking. Her long toned legs were just asking for me to trail my fingers up them.
Her hair was crying out for me to run my fingers through. Her plump lips begging to be kissed.
She was at ease with Shaun, laughing at him and joking around.
I watched as she would brush her hair behind her ear as she spoke with him, smiling up at him. Her laughter was joyous and bubbly.
It was the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard, but it should be me making her laugh, not another man.
She looked up at me and her eyes sparkled. The flames from the bonfire were dancing across her face.
I can hear the pack members addressing me. I can only acknowledge them with a nod though.
My mind is elsewhere at the moment. I'll talk to everyone else later.
Right now there’s only one person I want to talk with and she’s standing across the lake with another man, laughing and smiling at him.
“I believe we are here tonight to welcome someone. Where is the guest of honor?”
She doesn’t say anything, she just stands there staring at me.
I can’t help smiling knowing I’ve made her speechless. I wonder if she feels the pull yet?
Something seems to have pulled her from her trance.
I can see the moment she realizes, it flashes in her eyes.
“Sorry Alpha Cameron, I didn’t hear what you said.”
Her voice is so soothing to me, it fills me with peace. If her voice was the last sound I ever heard whilst on this earth, I would die a happy man.
“I said welcome Alisa, I hope you enjoy your stay with us.”
“Thank you Alpha.”
She bowed her head down whilst saying that. When she stood back up, she locked her eyes with mine.
I swear the world stopped spinning. It was like everything was moving in slow motion. The flames flicked slowly across her face, her hair gently blew in the gentle breeze. The fireflies seem to be moving slowly across the night sky.
*You need to stop staring at her and say something!*
Mason snapped me out of my daydream.
“Shaun, I need a word with you, please.”
I tried to sound as calm as possible saying his name.
“Yes Alpha.”
*Not that! … Just don’t kill him!*
*Mason, I'm not an idíot. I’m just gonna tell him Alex will kill him for getting too close to his cousin.*
*Throw your best friend under the bus instead. I’m proud of you man.*
He chuckled in my head.
Shaun made his way over to me with Alisa following behind. Her scent made my mouth water, her eyes still locked on me.
How do I know she’s not taken her eyes off me yet?
Because my body is betraying me, it's drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
It feels like I have a magnet inside me and it’s pulling me to her.
I can feel the string from my heart connected with hers.
I can't take my eyes off her even if I tried, and I’m sure everyone will be talking about this tomorrow.
“Alpha.” Shaun addressed me.
Alisa walks over to an omega called Jordyn and starts chatting to her like she’s a long-time friend.
“Shaun, I hope you're enjoying your night?”
“Yes, I am. Thank you Alpha.” His voice irritates me.
“Good. You need to stay away from Alisa Parker, Shaun. Do I make myself clear!”
I’m trying my hardest to stay calm, but the thought of any other man trying to take what is mine is making the fury shimmer beneath my skin.
“I’m sorry Alpha, I don’t think I can do that, I really like her.”
The fury is now on the surface, ready to break free.
“I don’t think her cousin or uncle will appreciate you trying to corrupt their innocent family member!”
I growl out through gritted teeth. I insert a little authority into my voice as well.
“I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but she is old enough to make her own decisions!”
The fury uncoils, racing to the top, ready to erupt like a volcano. This mother fücker just won’t quit.
“Do I need to be clearer to you Shaun?” I snarl at him now, “Stay away from her! That is not a request!”
“Yes Alpha.” He bows his head and now I feel like shít.
I hated commanding him to stay away, but she already means more than life itself to me. Fûck I’m in trouble.
