Chapter Three

1118 Words
Brenda’s POV. I woke up with a pounding headache, while I held my head in pain. “It hurts as hell,” I thought, as I sat up on the bed without even batting an eyelid open. When the pain relieved me a little, I opened my eyes gently just to see myself in an unfamiliar environment. The room was so massive and different from my little princess room....as the bed was so comfortable and soft. “Where in goodness name am I?” I wondered, holding my head in my palm. Slowly, the memories from last night came rushing to me—and I remembered everything, including how the man laid me in this room and walked out. “Oh my God,” I facepalmed myself, as I couldn’t feel less embarrassed. I remember even vomiting on his shirt when he tried to lay me down, and I became so embarrassed to the extent that I decided to rush out of the place before he came in. I slowly stood up, and saw myself in a baggy shirt—but I became confused because I didn’t remember him dressing me up. Without giving it another thought, I picked up my handbag with my already stained gown....and walked out of the room. A few minutes later, I found myself in front of the mansion and a wry smile appeared on my lips. “I just can’t believe that I managed to get into this place with an embarrassing character,” I thought, as I walked away. ******** I got to my house just to find Cecilia in the kitchen preparing something..... “Hey, where are you coming from?” Cecilia asked, with her hands akimbo as she stood before me—with a frown etched on her face. “I’m so tired Lia, we’ll talk later,” I brushed past her, and walked towards my room tiredly. “Are you okay?” She screamed behind me, but I wasn’t in the mood to reply her. I was so embarrassed about what happened between me and the man—and how I misbehaved with a stranger. I got into my room, and locked the room behind me before gasping out exasperatedly! “Is it my fault, or is it not my fault?” I thought and sighed deeply. “It’s very much possible that I won’t meet him again, so I should stop thinking about this,” I thought, and almost immediately—Lia knocked on my door. “Food is ready girl, I hope you open up,” She said, placing a light knock on my door at the same time, and I almost started feeling guilty. I should never have ignored her when I entered, so I sighed softly as I got down from the bed and opened the door—walking straight to the dining. I got there just to see the table empty, and I started looking for her becoming curious as to why she called me when the food wasn’t ready.....only for me to see her eating while her eyes were glued to the TV. “Lia,” I called out softly, but she just pointed at my food which she kept on the center table. “Talk to me,” I said softly, as I felt guilty. “Are you ready to talk to me now?” She asked, and I nodded—but the next thing she did was to clear her throat. “Where did you spend the night Brenda?” “Why didn’t you call to say that you weren’t coming back?” “Why did you look so down earlier?” “Lastly, why are you in a man’s shirt?” She threw all these questions at me, as she stared at me deeply—eyeball to eyeball. I heaved lightly, as I opened my mouth to talk—then, Lia beat me to it. “Don’t tell me you’ve quickly replaced Gary?” She asked, but I shot her a meaningful glare. I calmed down and explained everything to Cecilia, starting from how I went to the club to how I saw myself in the man’s room and his shirt. She gasped loudly and winked at me suspiciously... “Oh no, I told you everything that happened,” “Are you sure?” She asked, flashing me a weird smile which made me a little bit frustrated. “Lia, what about.....” I was saying when the news on the TV caught my attention about Gary’s company. “The launching of a Power-bike at BK AUTOMOBILE COMPANY would be happening soon, so they’re.....” The news reporter was saying when Cecilia tapped me lightly on my shoulder. “Yes,” “You were lost,” She said, with a confused look on her face. “No, I was just imagining what it would be like riding a super-bike for the first time in my life,” I thought, as a sad smile flashed on my face. “Gary promised to make me ride one someday, so it wasn’t true,” I said sadly, but then...I wasn’t going to cry. I promised myself that I wouldn’t cry anymore because of Gary, instead—I needed to find ways to make him pay for breaking my heart. “Gary is a past tense, I’m sure that you’ll get over him very soon,” Cecilia said, flashing me a smile I returned and faced the Television but then, the next thing I saw shocked me to the bone marrow as I pointed at the Television—as my mouth wavered. “He....He’s....He’s the...He’s the one,” I stuttered shaking in shock. “Oh him, He’s the most feared Billionaire in the country—and also your ex’s uncle,” Cecilia explained with a smile on her face, but the last statement managed to send chills down my spine. “My ex’s what?” I couldn’t believe my ears, as I hoped silently that it was all a dream. “His uncle,” She repeated, with no idea of what was going on. “What’s it, girl?” She asked as she was confused. “He is the one Lia,” I said slowly, as my heartbeat increased. “The one?” She asked confusingly, “Who? Please stop speaking in parables,” She said making me sigh heavily. “He’s the one that I met at the club and sat on his lap, He’s also the one that I slept in his room, It’s also his shirt that I’m putting on....” I mentioned it all like I had a problem believing it myself. “What?” She screamed in shock.
