Raven. I didn’t expect it, I had no idea what to do when I felt his lips on mine. I thought something had gone wrong, even when he stepped back, got into his car, and drove off. I blinked as if that hadn't just happened, and his lips hadn’t just touched mine. I watched as his car drove off the path out of the house, I walked down to the house, grabbed a glass of water, to cool off my head. Why did he do that? My hand touched my lips, I dropped the glass of water, and sighed. The fact that he didn’t say anything else after, gave me a different thought, I walked down to my room and started to undress yet the thought was still in my head. I stared at my phone right after I freshened up, if there was any message from like some explanation but there was nothing. I wondered why I hadn’t done anything either and had just let him kiss me. It just happened so fast that I couldn’t react in time, and that was it. I had to conclude on that. I lay on the bed, stared at the ceiling, and checked my phone at intervals, while over at my desk was the work of Kaid that I hadn’t been able to do for the past few days, I was still indecisive about it. A day went by, and I got nothing from Alpha Stone, not a word from him. For two days, I didn’t want to be the one to reach out first to him, but I thought there was supposed to be some sort of explanation from his end, but there was nothing at all. “Why are you here?” She shamelessly came to the company where I worked, the audacity for her to walk in here. “I wanted to see how you’re doing since the divorce, and I don’t know what to tell the kids, they think you abandoned them. Is that true?” She grinned and made her way into my office. I told my secretary to leave her alone. Her eyes went around the office as if she were searching for something missing. “Why don’t you come work for Ethan, he has nice offers for you?” “You should tell me why you’re here.” She pulled out a seat and sat down with her elbow on the desk. “You should get me some coffee?” “Get out of here, Sym.” She threw her hands in the air. “I just got here.” “I wonder why the kids can’t seem to like you, with this attitude of yours…” “Stop bringing my kids into every conversation.” “No.” “I have to, because it seems you’ve forgotten and you need a reminder, so I’m going to give you one, Raven. You’ve kids, you’ve responsibilities, and your kids are your responsibility, this isn’t the time for you to act like a single woman because you divorced Ethan.” “Isn’t that what you wanted?” “What?” “You wanted to live as Ethan’s wife so badly, and I gave you the chance. I thought you would be happy about it, and won’t even want to see my face, but you and Ethan can’t do without me, what else do you want? You don’t even like the fact that I’m a single woman now, or you don’t like the attention I’m getting,” She placed her hand on her jaw. “Will you get me coffee or not?” “Will you leave after?” “What else will I be doing here?” She retorted. “I will get the coffee and I want you to leave.” I stepped out of the office and went to get the coffee, I needed a minute to breathe, breathing into the same space as her was suffocating. I came back to the office with a cup of coffee, I dropped one for her and I took the other, placed it in front of my desk. She took the coffee and sipped from it. “I will tell the kids you aren’t that bad after all.” “How are they?” “Doing so well without you.” She slurped from the coffee and took her designer bag from the table. I sighed. “Is there a way I can see them?” “Maybe try getting Ethan to court again, but the kids will only hate you more for it, why don’t you just keep enjoying the attention you are getting, everyone wants you know, all the Alphas are on your plate,” she stood up from the chair taking the cup of coffee along with her, “I hope we don’t have to see each other again for a long time,” I said. “I will keep that in mind.” She smirked at me. “But I can’t guarantee.” “Then go ahead and leave.” “You’ve a nice office. Raven, you did turn out well.” She walked out of the office, and I came out as well, watching her as she walked down from the building. She came with Ethan's car, and I wondered if she had moved into the house with them. I didn’t get anything from her about the kids, not sure if she was even going to tell me anything about them or the reason she came here. I went back into the office and drank from the coffee, everything about Symphony seems wrong, and now she doesn’t even have to hide it, she does it just the way she pleases. “You’ve an email from an Alpha.” My secretary informed me. “Which Alpha?” “Alpha Musky.” I’ve heard of the name before and I tried to remember when I saw him. “What’s it about?” I asked. “He wants to ally with your Pack, I’ve forwarded the mail to you, he said he wants to be a partner, or rather form a partnership with you.” “Send me the mail.” “Alright, ma’am.” I had a separate account for the Pack and the one for my business, he should have sent it through the Pack account, that way the message would have been forgotten to me directly and not through the business account and For my pack to stand strong, I need to get alliance, and protect it from being attacked and invaded by other Pack who would want to break in by force. I set up a meeting with the Alpha, and he was ready to see me in an hour. I guess I had another meeting to keep up with and something to distract me from checking on my phone if his message had come in. But there was no word for Alpha Stone, and when the word eventually came, it was just in a single sentence. *It was a mistake*
