I wasn’t expecting the call from my kids when I got home, I have always been the one to call them first, not them calling me
When I answered the call, it was the nanny who answered first before she gave it to the kids.
“When are you coming home?” Tani asked, there wasn’t any excitement in her voice as if she was genuinely asking me that.
“Isn’t it time you came home?” Toni spoke on the phone.
“Did your daddy put you up to this?” I asked without answering their questions.
“You already know why ain’t you coming home and making Daddy tell us to call you so you can come home.”
“Tani!”
“You are always yelling at me.”
“I didn’t mean to yell.”
“But it always happens.”
“Give it to me.” Toni was struggling to get the phone from her.
“Let me talk to her,” Tani argued back.
“Dad thinks you should come home,” Toni said, he wanted his voice to be heard just as much.
“Don’t come home!” Tani shrieked, I could hear the sound of her feet running down the stairs. “Sym is here, she does everything that you never did!” She was gasping for breath, she hadn't stopped running.
“I have told you to stop running down the stairs.”
“Oh, you don’t tell me what to do.”
“Tani, Dad’s coming.” Toni was calling, his voice sounded a bit distant.
I heard Tani giggling from the other end of the phone.
“Bye.” She hung up on the phone, cutting the words off my mouth.
I couldn’t believe Ethan would stoop so low to get the kids to call me, was this what he wanted?
He wanted to keep me locked down so badly, and the kids, I don’t know what to do about them.
I couldn’t even listen to them anymore, they listened to Symphony and Ethan and did whatever they said, they didn’t care about me.
The dress for the gala came, Alpha Stone meant what he said, the dress in a box was delivered to the house, and the same with the heels and the small clutch.
There was a short note from Alpha Stone.
“I picked the dress, made just for you.” Signed Alpha Asher Stone.
I dropped the note and unboxed the dress, the gala event was just tomorrow, and everything that I needed was in place.
I had stopped taking calls from Ethan’s grandfather, when he was ready to not talk me out of divorcing Ethan, then I would talk to him.
I got a text message from Alpha Stone, while I was checking out the dress he brought, there was a fresh bouquet of roses attached to the box.
*I hope you like the dress, I can’t wait to see how it looks on you. I know you will look gorgeous in it.*
I wore the dress to the gala, had my hair styled to give it some curls at the tip, and the silver heels that were my perfect size.
I was supposed to meet with Alpha Stone before entering, but he was running late, and I was already at the event hall.
“Ms. Raven.”
“I’m Alpha Jones of RiverRale Pack, do you mind if I be your escort for the night? You look extremely gorgeous.”
I smiled at the six-foot-tall man, black hair that was gelled backwards, in a plain white suit, and black shoes. His dimples showed when he returned the smile.
Someone else snapped his hand that was stretched at me. “Come with me instead.” He said.
“I’m Alpha Rocky, DeepRivers Pack.”
I turned to him and smiled at him. “Both of your Packs are rivals.”
He was chubby and short. A man who was around the same height as me, would be considered a very short man.
“Yes, that’s why I’m the better choice.” He stated his point. “My pack DeepRivers has been there for a long time before he established his and decided to have rivers to his pack name, my pack has everything you could ever need and I’ll protect you with my life.”
I chuckled at how sweet his words were. “But I…”
Someone tapped me gently on my shoulders and I tilted my head around a bit. “Don’t listen to them,” he said.
“You don’t want to get involved with packs with rivalry. My pack is a lot more peaceful and stronger than both.”
“And you are Alpha…?”
“Musky.”
“Alpha Musky.”
“Have you heard of me, Raven?”
I shook my head with an awkward smile.
“You haven’t heard of Shadow Fang Pack.”
Alpha Rocky scoffed. “Why would she know from a pack that isn’t worth it?”
“And you think the DeepRivers Pack is worth it?” Musky retorted and clicked his teeth at them before his gaze turned to me. “Be with me tonight, not just tonight but for the rest of your life.”
“Is that a threat?” I asked with a smile on my face.
“No, Raven, you’re just so perfect, the kind of woman that I want for my Pack, I won’t hesitate to make you Luna.” He offered and stretched out his hand to me.
“She’s with me, I’m sorry I’m late.” His arm brushed over mine, and he reached out for my hand.
His scent filled my nostrils, I wondered what cologne he had used this time.
The other Alphas back down, taking retreat steps slowly.
“If you ever get tired of him, you can come to me,” Musky muttered.
“And I asked to be her escort first, you owe me a dance, Ma Raven.” Alpha Jones lowered his head respectfully at Alpha Stone and me.
He stepped aside.
“What about me?”
“What about me, does that mean I don’t stand a chance?” Alpha Rocky asked, his gaze went from me to the other Alphas.
“You do stand a chance,” I said to soothe him, but Alpha Stone moved his hand down to my waist, he leaned close, his lips close to my ears when he whispered. “I don’t think he stands a chance.”
