Heather's pov "I love flying," Alfred exclaimed as we exited the plane. I took a deep breath of fresh air, savoring the familiar scent of home and longing. My son's voice broke the spell, "We need to collect our bags, Mom." The boys tugged on my hand and cloth, and we made our way to baggage claim. As expected, a car was waiting for us, courtesy of Jason. "Welcome back, peanut," I hugged him tightly, feeling a sense of comfort. "You haven't changed much," I teased, noticing the mischievous glint in his eye. “Well, you can't say that for the hottest girl in New York,” I smiled. I guess some things never change The boys were fascinated by the sleek sports car Jason had brought, and I couldn't help but chuckle at their excitement. "Is that a sports car?" Adrain asked, his eyes wide with wonder. "The latest one," they both gushed in unison, marveling at the car's sleek design. "Hello, cute boys," Jason said with a smile, trying to ruffle their hair, but they pulled away, giggling. "Don't call us cute, those are for the girls," Alfred said with a grin, making Jason laugh. When we arrived at the mansion, the boys' eyes widened in awe. The grand estate was even more beautiful than I remembered, with vibrant flowers adorning the front. "Things have changed," I mumbled, feeling a sense of nostalgia. "Not really," Jason replied with a smile, helping us with our bags. "This is a mansion worth billions; Uncle Jason must be so rich," the boys exclaimed in unison. "How come we never knew?" they asked, their curiosity piqued. As we entered the house, the butler, Troll, greeted us warmly. "Michelle, it's great to see you again!" The boys looked at us with curiosity, and I smiled, feeling a sense of homecoming. "Old Mr. Morgan is waiting for you," Troll said, directing us to the poolside. I saw him sitting there, looking more energetic and joyful than I had ever seen him. "Old man," I ran up to him and hugged him tightly. "Welcome home, child," he wrapped his arms around me, his eyes shining with warmth. Where are my boys?" He asked. "Here they are," I stepped aside and watched him meet the boys. I have never seen old Mr Morgan so filled with energy and joy. He was so happy and he spent time with the boys. The boys were enchanted by their great-grandfather, and I watched with a smile as they spent time together. "Mum, your grandfather is so cool," they exclaimed when they were getting ready for bed. "Really?" I asked, amused. "You know, I thought he would be so grumpy and old," Alfred said, making me chuckle. Adrian nodded in agreement, his eyes sparkling with mischief. I made them brush their teeth before bec and kissed them both good night. As I went to the balcony with a bottle of wine, Jason joined me, and we sat down to enjoy the peaceful night. "Why are you out here?" he asked, noticing my pensive mood. "I never thought of coming back," I said, taking a sip of my wine. "I wanted an escape, and grandfather granted that for me; coming back here brings back the memories I am trying to shut out." Jason put his arm around me, offering comfort. "I always envied your kindness and soft heart, but seeing you back then made me realize everyone has a weakness." He hugged me tightly. "You are not the girl of six years ago; you are a strong woman who I admire a lot." This boy has a way of making me smile. Silly boy No, you are going to wake her" "I am not, I am trying to do it properly" "She is going to wake if you move too much" I heard whispers and opened my eyes. "You see you woke her" Adrain hit his brother's head in annoyance. "I did nothing wrong" "Good morning boys" I sat upright. "Good morning mummy" they chorused. Adrian's face was without emotions while Alfred was looking elsewhere. "Are you angry at me? What did I do? Alfred looked at me briefly before shutting his eyes and looking elsewhere. "Why are you two looking that way?" "Nothing mum," Adrain said and ran out of the room. Alfred followed him. What is wrong with them? I got up from the bed and followed them. I want to know what is wrong with them. They were with Old Morgan "You are up early, that is new" he raised his head and narrowed his eyes on me. "What? Is there something on my face?" He smiled and looked at the boys. "It is just unusual seeing you like this" Why are they looking like they are trying to hide something from me? "Grandfather, I am about to go to the- holy s**t" Jason screamed when he saw me. "Your words Jason" I warned him about his language. "Are you going for a Halloween party?" He started laughing and they all started laughing with him. "Why are you all laughing?" I questioned looking at them holding their stomach and laughing hard. "Have you checked the mirror?" I was confused. Mirror? I walked to the mirror. My face is covered in colorful markers. The boys had played a prank on me, and I couldn't help but laugh at their mischief. "You two did this, didn't you?" I asked, trying to sound stern. Adrain and Alfred looked at each other, their faces innocent. "What made you think we did this?" Adrain asked, trying to stifle a grin. I chuckled, shaking my head. "No TV for a week," I said, trying to sound firm, but the boys just giggled. As we went house hunting, the boys rejected every option until we found a cozy little house that felt just right. They were excited to start our new life, and I felt grateful for this fresh start. As we settled in, I prepared for a meeting with Mr. Klein, feeling a sense of nervousness. I got to the big company and went to the receptionist. "Good morning, I have a meeting with Mr. Klein" She checked something on her system and directed me to the destination of the conference room. I got into the elevator and pressed the floor she asked me to go to. The door was about to close when a body slipped inside and stood In Front of me. In the elevator, the man's cologne smells surprisingly familiar. I took in a deep breath and my breath got cut in my throat. I looked up and stared at his back. I know this cologne like the back of my hands and I know who wears this cologne. I felt the space become small and sweat forming at the back of my neck. Luckily the elevator opened and I rushed out to make it to the conference room, only to hear my name being called, "Michelle..." I turned slowly, my heart pounding in anticipation.
