Chapter 5: Taken To The Palace

When everyone presented their gifts to the alpha family and received their gifts for coming, Nelly slowly moved away from the stage to go back home. She knew that she would face her stepmother's wrath and she feared what the punishment would be.

"Nelly!" A woman's loud voice caught everyone's attention, and she rushed out to the front stage to grasp Nelly's hand. She was Nelly's biological mother, Rosa Patrick.

"Nelly, I am so happy for you." Rosa wrapped Nelly in a warm hug, but Nelly stiffened under the embrace.

Nelly remembered that she had pleaded with her mother to take her away to her new home, but her mother had refused. Now, she was hugging her and saying that she was proud of her.

"Let me go," Nelly said, her eyes lowered as she tried not to cry.

"I am so sorry, Nelly. I truly want to take you, but your father refused. He refused to let me take you away. I had to go as I cannot stand his cheating on me. I am still your mother, and I am sorry that I couldn't do anything to fight your father. You know that he is rich. Why didn't you buy a new dress for Alpha Dan's 24th birthday party? He turned out to be your mate," Rosa said happily, as she had been praying for her first daughter to find true happiness.

"I don't have any clothes. I do not think that I can go home. Dad and his wife would beat me up. Alpha Dan is Elena's boyfriend," Nelly said, tears streaming down her eyes, and her mother offered her her handkerchief.

"It's okay. Have faith in the moon goddess. I believe that Alpha Dan will love you and treat you right. He cannot reject you, and you still have the chance to win his heart. You will become our Luna, and your status will rise to the top as the true heiress and daughter of your father, Mr. Simon Robinson," Rosa said, trying to comfort her daughter. As she dressed elegantly in a green dress.

"No. Just stay away from me. You have a happy life and family. You never, for once, cared to reach out to me or help me. So stay away," Nelly shoved her mother's hand away from touching her.

They were all after their gain and status. No one truly cared about her true happiness and what she wanted in life. Nelly was depressed, and that was why she ate so much food and ended up becoming a plus-sized girl at 18.

"Nelly, please, try to calm down," Rosa wanted to go after Nelly, but her second daughter, Susan held her back.

"Mom, you have me here. Why will Alpha Dan choose that chubby swine as his mate? The moon goddess is evil for betrothing someone as ugly as Nelly to Alpha Daniel," Susan said, her voice laced with disgust as she scowled. She was wearing a black dress that accentuated her figure, as she was a 16-year-old girl.

"Shut your dirty mouth, Susan! Nelly is your older sister, and you should respect her," Rosa yelled, her eyes blazing red with anger and filled with tears. She knew that she had failed Nelly as a mother, but Susan scowled and rolled her eyes in jealousy and glanced away.

"Nelly cannot be my sister, mother. It's a good thing you do not bring her to our house," Susan said, but her mother slapped her in the banquet hall.

"If you say any more rubbish about Nelly, I will report you to Alpha Michael. I hope that you can see that Nelly is going to become the next Luna. So accord her with some respect," Rosa spat, her voice filled with anger, but Susan cried.

"Mom, you slapped me because of Nelly. How could you! I know that you don't love me, but that stupid chubby girl! I dislike you, Mom!" Susan cried and ran away, and Rosa felt her heart shatter. She truly missed Nelly, her precious baby who was taken away from her barely a year old.

Rosa wiped her tears off as she saw the guards stop Nelly from leaving the banquet and redirect her to go back to the front stage.

Nelly frowned as the guard at the exit of the banquet hall told her, "You are not allowed to return back home to your parents. You are to go to the royal palace to become the next Luna."

"What?" Nelly's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't dreamed that she would become the Luna so soon. Though she was pleased, as she didn't want to go back home. As she turned to go back to the front stage, her father appeared before her. As the banquet hall gradually emptied out.

"Nelly, how can you snatch your sister's boyfriend? What did you do to make Alpha Dan become your mate? Did you seduce him?" Mr. Simon asked, still finding it hard to believe that Nelly was going to become the next Luna. He knew that he didn't favor her. He knew that he had abandoned her, and he felt so embarrassed when he saw his friends looking at him like the worst father on earth.

"I do not seduce Alpha Dan. I do not want him, but I cannot reject him. It's against the Alpha's law," Nelly said, her voice lowered as she avoided looking at her father's face.

Mr. Simon sighed as he was a very influential man, but he felt like a failure, seeing how his first daughter looked lesser than a maid. Even though she was an Omega, she was still his flesh and blood. He had avoided looking at Rosa in the banquet. Her rejection still left his wolf broken and missing till date. But thankfully, the Blue Hills Pack had never come under attack for a very long time, and they lived more freely like humans.

"It's fine. I will give you a black card as your wedding day. I hope that covers up for all the overlooking that I did to you. I am sorry, and congratulations ahead," Mr. Simon said, while he brought out a black card from his trouser pocket and handed it over to Nelly.

"This is an unlimited black card having 10 million dollars. You are not allowed to return back to my house again, as the alpha family will not let you go. Use it to take care of your needs," Mr. Simon said, while Nelly hesitated to take the card. Her father did not use to give her money before, and she was heartbroken to be receiving this huge amount of money from him, for the first time in her life, despite his wealth.
