The Mystery Begins.

The next morning came and Eli was still in the kitchen. He did not remember when he fell asleep in the kitchen. He did remember getting a notepad and a pen from his room and coming back to the kitchen so that he could properly remember the message. Once he did, he realised he need not have done so, for he remembered the message word by word. Still he sat down on the jagged floor and started scribbling down the message word by word. Those who see the light of life, Those who see with eyes so bright, Eli stopped. The light of life was a phrase that ringed few bells in his mind but he was unsure what. The next line surprisingly gave a sense of sanity to the whole episode. Bright eyes were the motto of the first ever System of this world. May be it was a reference to the pupils of the first system. But they are all dead by now. So that's another deadlock. Eli moved on. Those who see what's hidden inside, Those who see the waters plight, Eli tried to rummage his brain for anything that linked with these lines. There was only one water body in Chekerbee and that flowed down the Roy Hill. However, it was all dry now. The last time Eli had seen the location where once the water body has been, it was more like a stream of desolated waste. His long thin fingers reached the last lines of this cryptic message. Those who see the vanquished fight, They are the beasts of light. These words seem to have an effect on the our stoic boy. He must have read this last line atleast 50 times before he decided to comprehend it. The vanquished fight. There were many rebellions and usurping in the past against old systems. Eli did not know for sure. Due to lack of any family, Eli had never had any formal education. He had taught himself how to read and write, some basic fundamentals of science and maths and ofcourse the tenets of the present system. But Eli had never studied history. Some orphans like Eli were taken into the System at an early age. But not Eli. Why? He did not know. Eli faintly remembered his family. They were there until one day, everyone just seemed to disappear. It should have bothered Eli more but somehow it didn't. Nothing did. The only strong emotions he had felt in a long time was when he first saw the string of light. Speaking of which. He re focussed his mind on the message at hand and read it again. Those who see the vanquished fight, This line required some research. He could ask Mr Kronzington. The man was nothing less than an encyclopaedia of the things that had been though Eli had never taken interest. He then read the last line of the message again. He doubted that even Mr Kronzington knew anything about the beast of light. It seemed like a mythical creature conjured by the imagination of old world people to explain questionable situations.
