Not A Wise Decision

Harper slept off just like that forgetting that she hasn't eaten anything or even bothered to go get her clothes from her house. Infact Harper had totally forgotten about Caleb by that time. Caleb had been in a meeting all throughout the day but never forgets to go for a check up at least three times a week. After meeting upon meeting he decides to go for his check up and the doctor tells him that he should condone the amount of stress he gives himself but you know Caleb he won't want to listen to anyone that talks about his work. After he was done in the hospital, he left and headed home straight without branching anywhere. He arrived home in the next thirty minutes. "Welcome home Mr Wilson," One of the guards said as he took his suitcase from him and helped him with his jacket. "Where is my Nana?" "She's fast asleep sir. Mr Wilson, do you need my help with anything before I retire for the night?" "Not at all Edward." Caleb said as he waved his hands in the air. Edward nodded his head and went straight to his room. It was past 12 in the night, so everyone was probably asleep. Due to Edward's late return, Grandma Judy doesn't bother to wait for him to come back again unlike before because nowadays Grandma Judy has to take her medicine early and go straight to bed. Caleb, not wanting to wake anyone, went straight to the dinning and saw lots of dishes but he doesn't feel like eating any probably because Caleb had eaten earlier in the day. Caleb went straight to his room and wasn't happy with who he saw. "Hey...," he shouted at the top of his voice. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" Caleb had actually forgotten that he just got married, infact he couldn't even remember what she looks like or what her name is. It was as if Caleb had a short memory. "Get up and get out of my room." Harper quickly got up the second she heard his voice, "Um..um.. I'm so sorry Mr Wilson, I'm sorry I slept off on your bed. Grandma Judy wants....," she tried to explain but Caleb didn't care. "Ohh I see, you are one of the workers and just so you know you are already fired." He said as he tried dragging her out of his room. "What?, I'm Harper your wife, we got married yesterday remember?" Harper got so scared and thought he was drunk but he wasn't smelling of alcohol, so she felt he must have lost his mind. Harper didn't know how she ended up sleeping on his bed but she didn't expect that Caleb would forget her so soon. "Ohh," Caleb said and took his hands off her. "What are you doing in my room? Now that we are married you should stay far away from my room and that is rule number one." "I'm sorry Mr Wilson, Nana asked me to stay here and I have to obey her." "I see, me or Nana, who should you obey?" Caleb asked her, then started walking towards her and she kept moving back until her back hit the wall." Harper could already feel the tension in the room and everywhere seemed hot to her despite the fact that the air conditioner was on. Harper could not answer Caleb, instead she put her face down to avoid looking at his scary face. "Leave now before I do something that you will regret." Harper didn't wait a minute, she took her handbag and her slippers and stormed out of the room immediately thereby banging the door so hard and Caleb doesn't like to hear the sound of doors banging so hard. Harper was lucky that she wasn't aware of this if not she will create more problems for herself. Harper left the room not knowing where she was heading to until she jammed Mrs Rose. "Are you alright, Mrs Wilson." Mrs Rose asked Harper but with the look on Harper's face and the way she was shaking, Mrs Rose knew exactly what happened. "Don't be afraid madam, Master Caleb wasn't expecting to see you in his room and also he actually likes his space but don't worry let's get you to the guest room, by tomorrow everything will be sorted out." Harper's mind was just in a mess, she had thought that Caleb was an easy going guy but never expected that he would raise his voice at her. Harper needed to stay far clear from Caleb. "...okay...," Harper responded but asked, "Is that how he behaves?I'm sure you heard his voice and that is why you came out." "I have worked for him for a long time now," Mrs Rose said. "But he doesn't act like that towards me. Harper just nodded at her and didn't bother to say anything again. At this point, Harper was doubting if she had done the right thing but still happy that Grandma Judy loves her and would be by her side. Harper couldn't enjoy the wonderful sleep she was having before Caleb came back. Her mind was filled with a lot of thinking. **** At eight in the morning the next day, Mrs Rose came knocking on Harper's room door. "Good morning Mrs Wilson, your breakfast is ready and it's served downstairs in the dining room. The Master is at the dining table with his Nana. You should go there too, at least get to know him." "I don't know Mrs Rose, one minute he got married to me without having a problem, the next minute he shouted at me just because I slept in his room." "I understand Madam, but you still have to eat, since you came back yesterday you haven't eaten anything and big Madam actually wants to see you." When Harper arrived downstairs, she was warmly welcomed by Grandma Judy to come sit close to her for breakfast. "How was your night, Harper dear. It looks like you didn't have enough rest last night." Grandma Judy said while staring at Harper who was now staring at Caleb. Caleb didn't bother to look at them, his gaze was fixed on his breakfast. "Did Caleb do anything to you, Harper dear. You can tell me." Grandma Judy asked after noticing the weird tension at the dining. "Ohh no Nana, my night was actually fine, all thanks to my loving husband Caleb." Harper said with a smile on her face. Caleb suddenly coughed, almost choking on his food. "Ah, excuse me," he said, trying to compose himself. Nana looked at them with a curious expression. "Really? That's great to hear, dear. What did Caleb do to make your night so special?" Harper's smile faltered for a moment, before she quickly recovered. "Oh, he just... um... surprised me with my favorite snack." Caleb's eyes met Harper's, and he raised an eyebrow, silently questioning her lie. "Um.. you know what Nana, let's eat, the food is actually getting cold." Harper said, as she immediately dived into her food. Caleb's gaze lingered on Harper, his expression unreadable. He took a sip of his drink, his eyes never leaving hers. Caleb had a lot of things to say to her at that point but he couldn't because Nana was there. After a while, Harper's phone buzzed on the table. She glanced at the screen, her eyes widening in alarm. "Excuse me," Harper said, quickly pushing back her chair. "I need to... um... take this call." Caleb's eyes narrowed. "Who is it?" he asked, his voice low and even. Harper hesitated, her eyes darting between Caleb and Nana. "I... uh... I'll just take it outside." As Harper quickly exited the room, Caleb's gaze followed her, his expression darkening. Harper quickly answered the call, "Hello doctor." "We need you right now, Ms Davis." He said, sounding so scared over the phone. "What is going on, is my dad alright," Harper asked, panting. "Just come as soon as possible." The doctor said before hanging up on Harper.
