Delilah Pov
He was gone all day and night. I spent the entire day sleeping. I was beyond bored. I was a little bit worried but mostly I was exhausted. My wolf wanted to run. I just wanted to see my family and friends. The craving for blood was gone. I was glad to be rid of that annoying temptation boiling in the back of my throat. I didn't want to even think of blood ever again.
I heard a noise coming from downstairs. I knew he was back but he wasn't moving.
"Did something happen to him?" I thought. He started pacing and I wanted to call out to him and tell him I was hungry or something. I wanted to see his face. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," I said.
"Are you okay?" I looked into his eyes and he looked genuinely concerned.
"Yeah," I said softly.
"Can I get you anything?" William asked.
'I wan to go ho-," He didn't even let me finish.
"I will release you but you have to do as I say," he said seriously. I nodded. "I don't care if you tell your parents I kidnapped you but I want you to do me a favor. When we go out, please just run straight home." His eyes were telling me a story but I couldn't read them. He grabbed my hands and untied them. He took off the restraints from my ankles and helped me get up.
"You go straight home," William was looking directly into my eyes. I nodded and took a small breath. He opened the door and we both ran out. I could feel William close behind me but I suddenly felt the presence of others.
"Rogues," I tried to sense where they were coming from.
"They're coming from the East," William said. "Get ready!" Four large wolves came charging at us. William quickly got in front of me and fought them. I remembered his words and continued running. I felt more coming. They rushed past me.
"William," I called out. I stopped running and stood there thinking about what I should do. I wouldn't make it in time if I left and got helped. I needed to fight. I needed to help him. I shifted and run back to help William. I leaped in front of the two wolves trying to hold William down. I ripped open their throats and clawed at their chest. I was ready to fight and take these assholes down.
"I TOLD YOU TO GO!" William yelled. I let out a growl and continued to fight the rogues. More and more kept coming. I was hoping my family was tracking them and would find their way here somehow.
I suddenly heard some strange chanting. All the wolves stood frozen. I looked over at William.
"RUN!" we both took off in the other direction. I quickly glanced back and saw a coven of witches coming out of the forest. They continued chanting and the wolves suddenly were turned to ash.
"FOCUS, RUN!!, FASTER," William shouted. I didn't know where we were going but we ran and ran. I was getting tired but William didn't slow down. It started to rain and I was losing my footing. I stopped and took a moment to catch my breath. I haven't stayed in my wolf form this long before.
"We are almost there," William said sharply. I didn't know we had a destination in mind. We ran for about another twelve minutes until we came to a cathedral. It was old but still very incredible to look at. We walked to the back and there was a separate smaller building. William looked at me and I stared back at him.
"You can shift back now," he said. Did he not know I would be naked the minute I did that. I didn't move or shift back.
"Come on, I'll get you a robe," he said. He brought me a black priest robe. He turned around and I began to shift. It was too big to fit properly but I covered myself with it. I was cold and wet. William led me inside and showed me to a room with a bed.
"I'll see if I can find you some clothes," he said. My stomach rumbled. "And some food." He softly smiled and walked out of the room. He came back twenty minutes later with a pair of sweat pants and a white T-shirt. I was reluctant to put the shirt on but I had no choice and no other options. He brought me some snacks and I ate them so quickly I felt bad and embarrassed afterward.
"There is a shower and bathroom at the end of the hall," Willliam said.
"Thank you," I said softly. "Why were they after us and what was with those witches."
"I told you, it is not safe for you, you might be in danger. I was right. Many supernatural creatures are going to be after you know but I fear it was all my fault, to begin with," William explained.
"I don't get it," I told him. "My family will protect me, I have to get back home."
"Not tonight, you are being hunted," he said.
"Fine, I'll stay here but I need to get home to my pack, our allies can help us and they will keep me safe," I told him.
"I know," he whispered. "I selfishly put you in danger." I stood up and caressed his cheek.
"It's okay, I'm safe and if you want to make this right then help me," I began to remember my dream. The touch of his hands on me. The way I dug my claws into his back. The thirst for blood. I backed away and looked into his eyes.
"I will sleep in the room beside yours," I nodded, and then he left the room. I was left with an urge I knew I couldn't cure.
"f**k, what have I gotten myself into,"
