Chapter 17

Jia Xia

After Xavier left last night I felt upset but uncomfortable.

He never returned home last night.

Was he with Bella.

My mind was telling me not to trust him or her but my heart was extremely heavy.

I wanted to make things easier.

But how.

I called my mom.

" hi baby.. How are you.. Haven't seen you since well... You left here on Tuesday..."

"O yeah.. Things are a bit tense at home."

"What are you okay, did something happen.."

I didn't want her to worry.

" its nothing like that... I was hoping you could give me some advice... On you know... Getting closer to Xavier..."

She laughed on the other side.

" okay.. Lets meet after school tomorrow and I will hand you some good tips okay..."

I love my mom, she knows hiw to make me smile.

We agreed and made plans we spoke for a bit than I spoke to my dad and than cut the call.

I wasn't going to school today because I had an exam tomorrow so I spend the day studying.

By 7 pm Xavier still hasn't come home.

I went to bed.

Why wasn't he coming home.

Did I push him to hard.

I was feeling restless.

I took a sleeping pill and went to bed.

I woke up the next morning and got ready for school.

Aftwr the exam I went straight home.

My dad was reading his paper when I came home.

I went to sit next to him on the arm of the chair.

"Hey daddy..."

He was surprised.

"Pumpkin... You scared me... Whay are you home, are you okay.."

I smiled and nodding I told him me and mom was have lunch today before I went back home.

He smiled and continued his reading.

I got uo and went to the kitchen.

Mom was busy preparing lunch.

"Hey mom..."

She turned around and greeting me back called me over to taste the food.

Her cooking was the best.

I naturally picked uo alot from her and wasn't so bad at cooking myself either, nit as good as her but close.

We sat and spoke for a while.

She made me a list of things to do.

#1 make him see you.

Always dressed nicely and smell good.

Wait for him till he arrives if needed.

#2 always be happy to see him.

Never give him attitude or show him any disrespect.

#3 cook for him.

Find out what he likes and dislike and cook for him often.

#4 Forgive and remember to Forget.

Leave the past in the past.

Don't hold on to things that can hurt either of you.

She spoke to me and shared her deepest secrets with me about my father and how thing was before I was born.

I had a new respect for both my parents.

They made things work by letting go off hurtful things and loving each other unconditionally.

I wanted to make that happen in my marriage.

Yes I was still young but I didn't want to end uo a divorced woman before I turned 20 so I had to do as my mother said.

This was the only way to repay her and Mr Lee.

I wasn't going to let Bella stand in my way.

No more.

That night I went home and cooked myself.

I got dressed up and waited for Xavier.

I looked at the clock on the wall and it was well past midnight.

He wasn't coming home today.

I packed the food away and went upstairs.

I didn't even change my clothes.

I just got into my bed and fell asleep.

The next 4 days I cooked and dressed up and waited but Xavier never once showed up.

By Sunday I had given up.

I decided to cook for myself.

As I was dish out Xavier walked in.

I remembered my mother's words.

Be happy to see him.

I got uo and gave my best smile.

"Xavier, your final home... Come have dinner I made lasagne.. Your favorite..."

He just looked at me and shook his head than went upstairs.

I couldn't believe it.

I was suddenly happy I didn't seem him the whole week.

He was like a huge block of ice.

So cold.

I suddenly wonder what has changed.

Was he finally ready to let me go?

I felt my heart racing but not with happiness, sadness was replacing my happiness when I thought of losing Xavier.

I had admitted to myself that I wasn't doing this for anyone but myself.

Xavier had only shown me small pieces of himself and I had fallen deeply in love with him.

And I only realized it after her ignored my efforts.

What do I do now.

The next morning I got ready for school.

When I got in the kitchen Xavier was waiting for me.

"Sit..."

I was surprised but sat down.

"Im sorry Xavier, i was out of line... Please.."

I didn't even finish.

"I promised you that I would make sure you don't regret staying by my side, and I intend to keep my promises... But unfortunately Bella is a part of my life, and she needs me now more than before... I don't want you to get the wrong impression, she will only remain in my life as my friend.. And she won't interfere with our marriage, but you jave to promise that you will not let our family find out about this... You need to understand... I want to be with you and I want to build a life with you but Bella is a part of me I can't just get rid of... Please think it over.. "

He got uo and placed a soft kiss on my head.

" See you tonight, have a good day... "

I watched as he grabbed his coat and key and walked out.

What the hell...

He wasn't angry.

But he wanted to be with me.

But Bella was always going to be a part of this to.

What does he think of himself.

I could believe it.

I was in a daze.

When Noona Came in I finally snapped out of it...

It was already 10...

I was sitting there for over 3 hours...

I wasn't going anywhere today.

I spent the whole day trying to force myself to accept Xavier's ultimatum.

I need to move forward.

But was Bella really just going to watch Xavier play house with me from the sidewalk.

I was scared.

But I had to try.

When Xavier got home dinner was ready.

When he walked in in didn't hesitate any longer.

I ran into his arms and held him tightly.

"I PROMISE... I will do my best, i won't let you down I.. I alos want to have a life with you... I can accept anything as long as you love me..."

He wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

"Thank you sweetheart... I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I will keep my promise... I love you..."

He said he loved me.

I looked up at him.

Our eyes met.

I could see the fire burning in his eyes.

He looked at my lips.

I didn't wait for him to kiss me.

I stood on my tippy toes and pressed my lips to his.

He picked me up in his arms and we sat on the sofa.
