A Princess Among Omegas

Courtship begins

"Mala dear you look so beautiful today. I am extremely grateful you accepted my apology and I promise I will prove myself worthy. Mala, that green dress you are wearing is lovely. Did you stitch that dress yourself?" Nilo asks hoping she says yes. " Thank you and yes I did indeed make it myself," I replied blushing. "You look nice in that sky-blue shirt. We complement each other quite well," I add.

" The two of you are having lunch with us," assumes Mauro.

"Of course replies Alpha Vaughn.

"Mala, that's a lot I didn't know you had such a healthy appetite," Nilo observes.

Mala laughs, "it's not for me silly, it's for your Alpha." Nilo growls, "how sweet of you to wait on another man before your mate."

I reply, "He is a widower and leader, it is only right he is served before me. Besides as your mate that makes him my future Alpha does it not?" Not even Nilo can argue with me in front of my pack.

"Would you fix my plate for me as well," he asked.

I reply, "if you had waited at the table, I or one of the omega would have gotten you a plate. However, I thought this walk around this buffet would allow us to get to know each other." I am still feeling confused and happy at the same time. Nilo follows through the line and fills his plate. We chat while I put food on Vaughn's plate. "Nilo are you upset about having to prepare your plate?" I ask while thinking serves him right for not being patient and waiting his turn. Damn mate bond, I feel excited and filled with desire yet annoyed at the same time. I wonder if Nilo is as turned on by my touch as I am by Vaughn's. I don't want to burst Nilo's bubble, however, I would not usually be there one preparing his alpha's plate. I manage to convince him that it seemed right since he will be my future alpha I appeased him. Something feels off with Nilo, I wish I could figure out why there seems to be something dark about him. Well, the Moon Goddess paired us for a reason so I will get to know my mate. I will accept him for what he is even if I am an alpha's daughter and he is but an omega. Maybe being an omega will help me to help more of my kind find equality and justice. Besides Nilo is rather yummy smelling very much like Alpha Vaughn. He has been explaining to me his thoughts on food and other things he enjoys. I am curious how he feels about the fact that my mom is the Alpha in my pack and my dad is essentially Luna.

Well, his alpha's plate is full so we should head to the table. I will deliver this plate to the alpha and quickly fill my plate. Nilo must be truly hungry for as much as he loaded on his plate. I wonder if he has the same appetite at home. He must make good money to eat such a large quantity. I am glad he has a healthy appetite since I love to cook. I will try to be kind and stay home to tend to my mate's needs. I will bake fresh bread and fresh pies. I will can fruits and vegetables to help us get through the winter months. Maybe we can even hunt together to get plenty of meat for the long winter months. He said he likes rabbit stew. He also likes venison. This is great as my pack believes in living on what appears naturally. Cows are used primarily for dairy and for months when hunting is illegal in the human world. Well, I have a plate of salad and bread and am heading back to be seated with my mate. We are eating now that everyone is at the table and Mom has said grace. I pray that Nilo says grace to his pack. Although I am wondering seeing how Mom had to clear her throat to get his attention as he picked up his fork before I returned to the table. Mom's mind linked to me as she found it rude in her eyes. I found myself apologizing for his behavior. I don't understand, he has eaten here before now as he is friends with two of my brothers. We'll see how things go after lunch.

" Mom, I mindlink, why do I get sparks from Alpha Vaughn? Also, why do they smell the same to Lena."

" You mean Alpha Vaughn and Nilo smell the same," Mom asks. " Yes Ma'am, I also sense dark magic coming from Nilo," I reply. " Honey I think you need to tap into your extrasensory perception and trust your intuition. I strongly recommend you don't let anyone else know you have questions," Mom advises me.

" Mom thank you for your advice. "

" Do you know what to do to search his mind and spirit," Mom asks me.

"No how do I do this," I ask.

"After lunch take him for a walk. Offer to hold his hand then tell Lena what you want to do. Trust your wolf she is special and if I am right she is more powerful than mine," Mom confides in me.

"Mala would you like to go for a walk with me," asked Nilo. "That sounds lovely," I reply.

"Mom Nilo would like to go for a walk. Do you need me for anything," I ask. " No sweety be careful and have fun, ( remember to hold hands and trust your wolf, she mindlinks.), she tells me.

" Yes Ma'am," I respond respectfully.

" How about we take a stroll out to the tree line," I suggest. "May I hold your hand," he asks as we head out the back door.

"I think that would be splendid," I reply happily. " Lead the way," he instructs me.

" Okay, Lena get in his head and find out what is going on. I got this she reassures me. Mala don't panic but this is not the mind of a werewolf. I don't know yet how he smells like a wolf he is all witch. Wait I see something. He doesn't know he is not even half-wolf. I found a memory of his mother teaching him how to shapeshift explaining to him that it is normal for a hybrid to only get one parent's genes. His mind is full of dark magic. I found a six-year-old memory of him overhearing Vaughn talking about being your mate. Your brother reminds him he has to wait until you come of age. I see a memory of him getting some of Alpha Vaughn's blood and making a potion to make himself smell like Vaughn. We need to get back to a safe place," Lena urges me.

" I understand," I reply.

" Nilo, I enjoyed this stroll with you, however, Mom mindlinked me saying she needed my help in the kitchen. I think it is my turn to load the dishwashers," I inform him.

" I will just chill with Dale while you help your Mom," he replies.

" Mom, we are heading back and I told him you needed my help in the kitchen," I mindlinked Mom.

" Alright I will meet you there, she responds.

" Let Dale know he wants to chill with him while I help you," I inform her.

" Dale your sister and Nilo are headed back and we need you to keep him occupied while she helps me in the kitchen, Alpha Ruby directs Dale via mindlink.

" No problem, Mom he is a friend after all," Dale replies to Alpha Ruby.
