Dain’s POV 

I don’t know what to do at all, I feel helpless. My Lycan is no better but I am trying to keep him sane. Me and my Lycan can be destructive sometimes and this time it’s about our mate, which makes the situation worse. 

My mom is my side rubbing my back trying to sooth us and it was totally helping, even though she seems collected I can see the worry in her eyes. I don’t like to see her worried but this it can’t be helped, all I could is avoid eye contact with her for now.  

Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder, my dad gave me a reassuring pat on my shoulder and sat beside me.  

“Son, I can understand what you are going through but I request you to be patient if you don’t want to lose your mate, you may make her obey you but you won’t be able to form a bond with her is you start off rough from the beginning”, he said making me sigh. 

“But dad my Lycan is reckless ever since we found her and to be honest even, I can’t help agree with him", on my outlet my mom gripped my hand patting them gently.  

“Son, your mate is a human, she doesn’t even know our existence and accepting your mate bond any time soon is out the question. We need to make her aware of our existence before you talking about mate bond. I know it doesn’t sound easy but we are all here for you”, My father being the King might have seen such cases and I think he is speaking from his experience but still I couldn’t feel assured. 

I have this feeling like something might go wrong in our relationship which is what making me reckless. I don’t know why; I am not much worried about her accepting our existence but more about the relation between us. Call it gut feeling or what but I am cent percent sure that the coming days aren’t going to be easy.  

I have a feeling my Lycan and I are going be tested a lot in the process of forming a bond with our mate. 

I was in my own dream land, making plans on how I am going to woo my mate and then I heard my dad praising my elder brother, out of nowhere or did I miss something. 

When me and mom gave them confused looks, I saw my brother grinning ear to ear and my dad was smiling at me. I just don’t get this duo sometimes; I don’t know if it’s because I am more of a momma’s boy or because we have different interests. So, I just ignored them, but my mom has other plans. 

“Why are you guys smiling yourselves like fools, when my baby is feeling low", she said glaring at them. 

“Oh, my calm down mamma bear, we got some good news for your beloved son and that’s the reason we are smiling like this”, even though dad said it’s some good news for me it didn’t perk me up because right now all my interests lies in my mate. 

“Really, enlighten us then”, my mom asked them. 

“As soon as we got to know about Dain’s mate, I appointed one of our best investigators to look into her family and we came to know that her mother hired a staffing company for household help, we are lucky it is run by one of our clan members. We explained him the situation and asked him to send our best Lycan spies to know them more and also to protect them”, well that’s the best new I have got today.  

I can get to know her more and can rest assured about her safety. 

“And another good news is, we are partnering with the company her dad works for but got to say they are one interesting family. Her mother owns a female clothing company which is famous worldwide and her dad is worshiped in the geek world, well that explains the high-end security installed at their apartment but we still got a problem here”, well that doesn’t seem to surprise me though. 

“What is it Asher?”, my mom asked curious and my elder brother seemed overthinking his last statement, must be because of my defeated expressions, well if I can take that my mate is a human or say I have a mate nothing surprises me anymore. 

“Don’t worry, I am in for anything”, I reassured him, even though he didn’t look so but still nodded at me.
