Chapter 9- Peace Summit pt 2

Summer POV Once Summer felt confident that the dress wasn’t going to slip out of place it was time for hair and make up. Summer would have liked to do something simple but of course Luna Rose could have nothing but the best for her daughter. So Summer had no choice but to sit through two hours of getting her hair and make up done. The process was excruciatingly long but Summer had to admit that it was well worth it. She never would have been able to get her makeup to look this good. And her hair! She tried and failed to curl her hair once. It did not come out looking appealing even a little bit. But today. The hairdresser figured out how to get her hair to curl in the most appealing of ways. She then put her hair up in a half ponytail that added more to the ancient Grecian theme of her dress. Her hair was finished by putting in a gold headband that wrapped around her head and looked almost like she was wearing a tiara. And to complete the look Summer was given thick gold bracelets to wear on her wrists and a slender gold infinity bracelet to put on her right bicep. The finishing touches to her ensemble were her shoes. Gold colored flats that criss crossed up her legs to end right below her knees. “Absolutely stunning my dear.” Summer stiffened when she heard the voice of Lord Miguel coming from her doorway. Plastering on a fake smile, Summer turned to face him. “Thank you.” She said uneasy. Miguel was the Lord most insistent that she marry one of the Lord’s sons. Mainly his son Jason. Jason was an attractive man. At six foot three inches he was tall enough to make Summer feel small, but there was a coldness to his blue eyes that unnerved her everytime she was around him. Unfortunately Jason is not only a fan favorite with the she-wolves, even some of the mated ones, but he is also a fan favorite of her fathers. This is another reason Summer must find her one true mate in the Blood Moon pack. She wasn’t sure she could keep her father back for much longer without him insisting that she accept Jason as her mate. “What brings you here Lord Miguel? To my rooms?” Unperturbed by her question Miguel strolled into her room and looked at her from top to bottom hungrily. “Out.” He ordered the remaining Omegas and they quickly ran out of the room. The closer Miguel got to Summer the more she could smell the lust pouring off of him. Summer stiffened, afraid that any movement would cause the beast to react. When Miguel got close enough to touch he ran a finger down Summer’s exposed arm and breathed her scent in deeply. This caused his desire to heighten and his scent to choke Summer where she stood. Getting closer, Miguel sniffed her neck right below her ear and whispered, “If only I was an unmated wolf.” Summer started to panic from the growl she heard just below the surface in Miguel’s words. His wolf was close to the surface and on the verge of taking control of Miguel. Just then she heard the sweetest sound coming from her doorway. “Lord Miguel, it is quite unfitting for you to be in a woman’s bedchamber that is not your wife. Were you here to wish our little wolf good luck at her first peace summit?” She asked sweetly. Summer breathed a sigh of relief when Miguel took control of his wolf and took a few steps back. Putting on a fake smile he turned towards Luna Rose. “But of course Luna.” He said, bowing slightly. “I happened to be walking by when I noticed Summer’s door was open so I had to spare her a moment to ensure she was prepared for today's peace summit.” Luna Rose showed no signs of not believing Miguel’s obvious lie. “How kind of you Lord Miguel. I assure you that I will ensure that Summer is fully prepared for this afternoon's festivities.” She said while ushering Miguel back towards the door. “Thank you so much for checking in on her. I know my daughter appreciates it.” Miguel bowed before turning on his heel and storming off down the hall. Once Luna Rose closed and locked the door behind Miguel’s retreating back, Summer let go of the breath she had been holding and plopped herself down in the oversized chair near her mirrors. “How did you know?” She asked her mother quietly. Luna Rose furrowed her brow in disapproval. “Yasmine came and told me straight away.” Thank the God’s for Yasmine, Summer thought to herself. Clapping her hands together Luna Rose got busy with the finishing preparations for today with Summer sticking close to her mother’s side. When Summer and her mother arrived at the border of the two packs an hour later Summer looked around at all her father had done. “Isn’t this a bit much?” She whispered to her mother. “Nonsense little wolf.” Luna Rose said less than convincingly. Alpha Antonio brightened when he saw his Luna and daughter’s arrivals. “There are my girls.” He said. “You both look beautiful as always.” He said while twirling both women to get a full view of them. Summer laughed loudly at her father’s antics and kissed his cheek warmly. Alpha Antonio let go of his daughter’s hand and pulled Luna Rose in for a tight embrace and passionate kiss. Summer turned away smiling to herself. Luna Rose smacked her husband on his shoulder and told him to behave. Everyone could see the love in her eyes as she looked up at her husband. Pecking him on the lips one last time Luna Rose disentangled herself from her husband's arms and stepped back. “Where would you like us to be my love?” She asked her husband. Pulling her in for one last kiss, he replied, “There is a tent set up over there for you and Summer to wait for our guest’s arrival.” He pulled Luna Rose’s hands to his lips and planted a kiss on each. “No sense in the both of you standing around in the sun in case they are late, or don’t show at all. As usual.” The last part was grumbled under his breath. But in the company of wolves he might as well have said it loud and clear. Luna Rose chuckled. “They will be here. Don’t worry.” With that she turned to Summer. “Let’s go my dear.” Summer followed her mother into the tent set up for them when she smelled the most alluring scent she had ever smelled before. Summer sniffed the air deeply taking in the woodsy smell deep into her lungs. In her mind Miri perked up and started wagging her tail. ‘What is it Miri?’ Summer asked her wolf. ‘Mate. Mate. Mate. Our Mate is almost here!’ Miri replied, hopping up and down in Summer’s mind. Summer stood still and held her breath, afraid that if she moved she would find that this wasn’t real. Her mate. Her mate is coming this way. From the Blood Moon pack. Summer moved towards the opening of the tent, intending to go out and greet her mate at his arrival but her mother stopped her with a firm hand on her shoulder. “What has gotten into you Summer? We must wait for your father’s introduction to go out.” Luna Rose said, frowning down at her daughter. “Are you okay?” It was on the tip of her tongue for Summer to tell her what Miri said, but she found herself keeping that information to herself. “I’m fine Mother.” She said smiling. “I just got anxious to greet our guests is all.” After what seemed like an eternity of pure torture while Miri kept whining and complaining in her mind Summer finally heard her father say, “This is everyone except for my lovely Luna, and my daughter Summer.” Summer jumped up at his words and raced to the opening in the tent. If it wasn’t for her mother pulling her back to reality she would have gone racing out and embarrassed herself. “Summer! Get a hold of yourself.” Her mother scolded her. Forcing her emotions to slow down Summer walked out of the tent gracefully next to her mother. As soon as her eyes adjusted to the sun she saw him and instantly knew that he was her mate. When their eyes met across the field it was like everything in her universe clicked into place and a feeling of peace washed over her and her wolf. But who is this mystery wolf? And does he recognize her as his mate as well?
