CHAPTER 3

“Your friend? That i***t was trying to hit my girlfriend when I was not around”

The angry man said.

“OK! Let's talk together, but not here please?

Zero said calmly while trying to stop. Then he held his right hand, to support and help Kent to stand, who was still dizzy.

Zero tries to consolidate the situation because he smells strong alcohol at the angry man. The man listened to Zero and agreed to go outside of the restaurant. Along with the other men, they went to the side of a mini park with less people around.

Zero is talking to the person who’s angry with Kent.

“My girlfriend wants to break up our relationship after three years, and I don’t know the reason. Until one time, I caught my girlfriend and your friend Kent in actual position. You know what I mean! Playing with fire? No man can stand it when it comes to the woman he loved”.

Angry man said.

“Kent is it true?”

Zero asks Kent, when Kent came back to consciousness and sitting behind with Jezz.

“Yes! But let me explain, your girlfriend tells me that she loves you even though we still did that sinful thing. You’ve been gone for a long time, maybe your girlfriend will explain it to you."

Kent replied.

“Did you flirt with his girlfriend?

Zero asks again Kent in front of the angry man. To make him satisfied and clear what are really happened between him and the girlfriend of the angry man.

“Yes, but I stopped when I found out that she had a boyfriend, I talked to her to clear something and finish what I started but instead, I was tempted at that time, she was flirting with me for the last time. Then he caught us.”

Kent explained with a sadness in his face while admitting his mistakes.

“But you are the man in that situation, you should be the one to avoid it, but what did you do? Huh?"

The angry man said, with a high pitch of tone in his voice. And Zero talks to the man with low voices, trying to convince and make him calm.

“Hey, this is my understanding. Kent’s mistake is equal to your lack of presence. It means your girlfriend misses you because she loves you. The thing is, maybe your girlfriend has a reason too.

Let me handle this, I will talk to him to make sure that it will not happen again."

The angry man’s appearance gradually changed and slowly returned to its normal mood. He walked a little distance as if thinking to calm about himself, perhaps he was thinking about the current situation and about his girlfriend. Later on, he approached Kent again and apologized. Kent also said sorry to the man who punched him and they hugged as a sign that they already forgave each other.

Then the group of men left the mini park. While the three went immediately to the nearest hospital clinic for Kent’s check-up and to heal the wound at his face he had inflicted. After the check up, Kent offered for a dinner at his house. Zero and Jezz both agree to his offer.

Kent is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Cacho. The well-known owner of a Dentist Clinic of the town. The couple had a successful carrier and they opened two offices a dental clinic at the town, which named after their family name and buy house and lot for their son.

“That naughty man, he even punched me because of his jealousy.”

Kent said, while Zero sipped water into three glasses and served to the living room where Kent and Jezz were sitting on the sofa.

Jezz said to Kent. She couldn’t stop talking to him because she was disgusted with what happened. Knowing that Zero almost had to fight because of what he did before. Then the two men in front of Jezz, Kent and Zero, had paused in a moment. they both looked at Jezz after she spoke. Then suddenly they both laughed out loud.

“My baby girl is so serious; you have no idea how cute you are when you get angry.”

Zero said softly, but Jezz was even more annoyed because of what he said.

"Don't call me Baby,"

Jezz replied. But Zero continued to laugh. That was the first time that Jezz felt something different in her heart and in her mind as she stared at him.

Because she remembers the day, way back three months ago. Zero and his girlfriend are fighting when Zero finds out that his girlfriend is cheating on him. He saw another man kissing his girlfriend in a classroom when no one was around. But the truth is, Jezz negotiated with that man to do it at the time when Zero picked up his girlfriend, in exchange for the amount of five hundred pesos as her payment. She did it because of jealousy. She didn’t want to lose Zero and his attention. Zero never knew about what she did. But now, she feels her conscience slowly coming back to haunt her.

Meanwhile, Zero went in the kitchen. He cooked something for dinner, while Kent and Jezz remained sitting on the sofa while leaving the room.

Kent pulled out a brown envelope from under the table in front of him and said.

“Here, this is what you need. Zero told me that this is for you.”

He handed a brown envelope to Jezz and Jezz looked at what it was contained in, she was shocked because she didn’t know how he found out that she was asking Zero for help regarding her research project.

“Zero sent a message yesterday, he asked me for help. He had no time for that, so I did it”

Kent said.

Jezz felt like she was poured by a cold water because she was ashamed of what Kent said.

"Wow! Thank you very much". I didn't expect this."

Jezz replied as she appreciated his effort that much.
