W H O W O U L D H A V E T H O U G H T ? N O T M E .
“Bro, you should have stopped by yesterday. You missed a s**t ton” Kayla spoke as soon as Nik stepped foot in the car.
“You should have seen Liz, she fancies you” Keven explained, which was not even a lie. She remembered them all and asked where the guy that I was staring at was… safe to say the guys had a big laugh and did not want to let Liz go for the rest of the night. Even when she fell asleep on the sofa, Andrea and Haiden fought over who would carry her inside to a bed.
“Oh bro, guess what else you missed?” Andrea said from beside me, Nik however did not seem to care the least bit. He confirmed that by just ignoring Andrea, did not stop him from keeping the conversation going..
“Theo Smith is still trying his s**t again”
That seemed to grab his attention though, all of the sudden he snapped out of his little bubble and looked me dead in the eyes.
“Again?” He sighed.
“No” I elbowed Andrea from beside me. “Just the time you were there”
“And the one where I had to reject him for you” Kayla added making Nik grow more furious by the second.
Oh for f**k sake, they are not going to let Liz comment from yesterday go, will they? Keven suggested that he thinks that Nik also has eyes on me, and I am pretty sure the whole group made it their mission to figure out if he is right or not.
“Brother, breath. Why you clutching your jaw so hard?” Keven said, but instead of looking at him he looked at me as if he was trying to prove his point. I rolled my eyes, glad to have arrived at school for once before quickly getting out of the car.
The rest of the day went alright, mainly cause we were always in crowds the whole day. I was starting to dread being alone with him.. Keven can’t be right.. can he? Either way, I needed some time alone to overthink so I told Kayla that I had plans and they don’t have to take me home, hoping I can walk alone for once. I think it is safe to say that I did and over thought every moment in my life, because almost halfway downtown I realized that I left my bag in my locker. I sighed before returning back to the school to get it since it had my laptop and bank card in it. It was awfully quite, yet somehow comforting in the building. I was not used to it being this calm, it was scary at first. But once you learn to embrace it, it was one of the most peaceful moments I got to experience all year. The sun was shining in and lighting up the whole school from the windows that it now faced around this time of the day. It was all almost out of a movie, but of course a day with me is not completed until I f**k something up by the dumbest s**t. Like being so caught up in the sun and the shadows it cast that I ended up walking into someone.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry”
“No worries” she said, helping me pick up my stuff that now laid on the floor.
I heard the two men who stood behind her lowly argument just like Andrea and Keven would. They kept making fun of each other about some directions that neither one of them seemed to know much about.
“You need any help getting somewhere? It is a big building” I said after collecting all my stuff.
“Actually, yes” the female I walked into says, not even giving them a chance to respond. She made me smile because of the power she seemed to hold.
“We are looking for the principal’s office”
“Oh.. that’s the other side of the building.. I can show you where if you would like? Easier than me giving directions” I offered knowing they would get nowhere if I had to play google maps. It took me way too long to learn which was left and which was right… longer than I would admit.
“That would be lovely, but we don’t want to be a hold up though if you have any place to be...”
“Oh no worries, I was just heading home anyways. I am no hurry” I explained as she smiled and put out a hand for me to shake.
“I am Alex”
“Nice meeting you, I am Ella”
“This is my husband, Elijah and our friend Enzo”
They seemed so lovely I nearly hugged them all… I did control myself, however. We started walking towards the office and Alex was probably the easiest person to talk to that I have ever met in my life. Shortly before we arrived, Elijah decided to join the conversation.
“Do you know anyone by the name Kendra who goes here?”
“Uhm.. no I do not think so. I just started here a few weeks ago so I have not really had enough time to remember everyone’s names”
“Oh, what are you studying here?” Alex asked.
“Majoring in business and economics but my minor is English literature”
“That is lovely! Our children actually are studying the same thing right now here! I don’t remember what Andrea’s minor was though…” she says looking towards Enzo.
“You know the bunch, if someone does something, everyone does it” he said chuckling.
“Wait did you say Andrea?”
“That would be my son” Enzo spoke.
“No way! He and his friends were the first ones who introduced themselves to me”
“I am guessing not Nik though” Alex joked, being absolutely right.
I could not help but laugh, “yeah not at first haha, he is a really cool kid”
“He takes that from his mother” Alex winked.
“Wait! You are Nik’s mother? Oh my god you look so young!”
“Hahahaha thank you darling! Who would have thought I was still keep my looks after putting up with him and his father”
“Certainly not me” I joked, becoming way too comfortable in her presence. She was literally the coolest. Eventually we arrived at the office and greeted each other bye, knowing we would probably see each other soon again before I left. I guess the godly genes run in the whole family then…
