Just like that, two weeks has passed since we moved out here. It felt surreal how quickly time was going, and it the same time it was truly fun. I have grown closer to the little squad and learned more about them. Some of my first impressions were right, while other not so much.
Keven and Kahe car to a stop and Nik opened the door.
“Morning you” he said laughing at me.
“Morning” I replied, sitting up as he jumped in, but he quickly pulled me back down.
“No need to get up, go back to sleep” He said and me being me did not waste an opportunity.
“Say less” I said before laying my head on his lap and putting my hoodie back on to cover my eyes.
“Y’all did not grab me any coffee ?” He asked sounding disappointed.
“Hell nahh”
“How do you drink it?” I ask, lifting the hoodie up slightly so I can see him.
“Black” he replied.
“Should have guessed” I joke before sitting up to grab my half full cup and give it to him.
“You can have mine in return for your lap” I joke as he smiles and takes it.
“Deal” he winks, making me quickly cover my face again to hide my blushing.
“Oh no.. we gotta pick up the two idiots” Keven says, reading a message from his phone. “Andrea lost his car keys.. both keys.” he explained making me giggle. Dude really lost both keys?
“We driver ma’am” Kayla says.
Eventually we got around to picking them up and I’m pretty sure that we look like cramped sausages sitting in the back. Three muscular men with me in the middle. At one point Kayla drove towards a parking garage and started drifting with the car. It was all fun and games until Andrea got coffee spilled on him, and I jumped on Nik’s lap to avoid it. Thank god it was cold brew. At first I did not notice what I had done til I felt Nik giggle, and I made the mistake of turning around and looking him in the eyes. I really sat on the man’s lap…
“You are telling me that with all that driving and there’s still a whole hour til class ends” Sighed Kayla as we all made our way to class as Andrea and Haiden made their way to the bathroom to clean up the coffee.
“Good morning Mr Johnson. You will not believe what happened. We truly appreciate your teaching right? So we thought what is there for a better way than to start you day with a cup of coffee. We drove to the coffeeshop but then accidently spilled it in the car due to the snow outside. It got all over Haiden and Andrey. Hope you don’t mind that we are late and that they probably won’t show up to class. Poor Haiden burned his legs from the coffee!” Kayla quickly made up a story making me, Nik and Keven look at each other giggling before we all went to sit down, after a little telling off of course. That’s Johnson for you, cannot ever try to accept the fact that we are going to be stuck in this building for years and we want to have some fun while being tortured.
“Alright, as I told the class I want you all to write a letter to someone or something you are passionate about. This will be used later on in a project”
We all sat down and proceeded to grab our pens and for once, I had no idea what to write about. Liz kept on crossing my mind. I tried distracting myself by asking the group what they were writing about.
Nik picked music, Kayla said she hasn’t started yet and my personal favourite is Keven’s letter to math, explaining why he should move on from his x and stop looking for her in every equation. When we all burst out laughing, Johnson looked ready as hell to kick us out.
“You think something is funny?” He asks, making the whole class quiet down and look towards us.
“Obviously, if I did not I would not be laughing” Keven said annoyed earning a few giggles from the class.
“That’s it, get out” he said, snatching Keven’s paper as we all stood up.
“No I did not say you” Johnson yelled.
“You said get out, sir” I added.
“Yes to you not to you” he spoke.
“You are very confusing sir” Kayla jumped in.
“That is true. I don’t even understand this assignment” Keven shouted.
“Yeah and I still don’t know what your first name is” Nik said.
“You are quite confusing sir” I added again.
We all kept talking on top of each other until he had enough and kicked us all out.
“JUST GET OUT. ALL OF YOU”
“About time” Nik said as we did as told for once in our lives.
Goddamn how I needed that laugh.
