Chapter 9

Nicole's Pov

I wake up feeling extremely energetic and excited. I write it of to the fact that it is finally Friday, my day off and I get to see Drake at the beach party tonight. I hop out of bed excited to start the day. I put on my music and get ready to take a shower. I walk into the bathroom and open the tap for the shower to start running the water. Once the water is hot, I get in the shower and let the water run over me. I put my head under the water so I can wash my hair. After my shower, I decide to make myself a nice breakfast.

As I put the pan on the stove, Shania Twain's Man I Feel Like a Woman starts to play. I grab the wooden spoon and start to sing along and dance. Abby comes out of her room and grabs the other spoon and joins me. We dance around the kitchen and sing along with the song.

When the song is over Abby puts down the spoon and laughs at me. "That was fun. I see your date with Drake has put you in a excellent mood."

I blush and turn back to the stove. "Well it is not really a date since you and Aiden will be there too, but yeah I am really excited about seeing him again. I really liked meeting him, he is fascinating. I have never met anyone like him."

"Yes Drake is a great guy. Just keep an open mind regarding him."

I turn back and see Abby frowning at the table but I don't push the subject. "Would you like some french toast to?"

Abby gives me a big smile, "Yes that sounds great I will make us some bacon and coffee."

Abby gets of the chair and puts on the kettle and gets the bacon from the fridge. We chat about our week and finish making our breakfast. We take our plates and mugs and go sit on the balcony to eat our breakfast.

I watch the ocean for a while and then turn back to Abby, "This is nice we should do this more often." I sit back in my chair and take a sip of my coffee.

Abby nods her head while she looks out on the ocean to and then she sighs and looks at me again. "I can't believe I have to go to work today."

I laugh at Abby. "You said you have to go to work for like two hours I am sure you will survive."

"I know, I know. What are you going to do for the entire day?"

"Not much, I thought I would just take the day for myself. Maybe read a book or catch up on some tv shows."

"How do you feel about going out to get our nails done when I get back from work?"

"Sounds great I will call and book appointments for us at the usual place."

"Thank you, I should go get dressed." Abby says and gets up to take her plate and mug back inside.

"No leave your stuff I will take everything in and wash it in a few minutes." I say and look back at the ocean.

"Only if you are sure?" I nod at Abby. "See you later for our nail date."

"Enjoy work." I say to Abby without taking my eyes of the view.

I sit outside and enjoy the piece and quiet a while longer. I see Abby get in her car and we wave goodbye. I get up and gather our dishes. I start by cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes. After everything is clean I decide to watch some tv. I settle on the couch and turn on the tv and go to Netflix. I see that Nobody Wants This has finally been released and I decide to watch the new series. I am just about to start with episode six when Abby gets back home.

"So how was your me day?" Abby asks while taking off her shoes and sitting down on the couch next to me.

"Pretty fun actually, I finally started watching Nobody Wants This. I really like the show this far."

"Sounds like fun. What time is our nail appointment?"

"I look up at the clock. We have to there in half an hour."

"I am just going to do a quick bathroom run and then we can go." Abby says as she get up and walks to her room.

"I still need to put on some shoes too," I say as I turn off the tv and walk to my room.

We leave the apartment and drive to the nail salon we like. On our way over to the salon, Abby looks at me and asks.

"Do you know what you are going to do with your nails?"

I lift my right hand and inspect my nails. "Just something plain like a neutral pink or maybe just some french tips. What about you?"

"My signature color, of course."

"Crimson." We say at the same time and laugh.

"I should have known," I say shaking my head.

About two hours later we walk out of the salon and head home to get dressed for the beach party.

"Do you need any help picking an outfit for tonight?" I ask Abby as I unlock the door to our apartment.

"No, I bought an outfit for tonight two days ago when you told me about the party. What about you? What are you wearing?"

I think about it for a moment and shrug. "I think I will just wear my trusty black dress with the pockets."

Abby runs to her room and comes back out with a bag in her one hand and holding up her other hand in surrender. "Now don't get mad, but I saw this dress and I just knew it would look great on you and the best part is it has pockets too."

I give Abby a hug and take the bag from her. "Thank you this really was not necessary, but I appreciate you thinking of me."

I walk to my room and take the dress out of the bag. It is a beautiful ocean blue off shoulder dress. I put on the dress and decide to pair it with my silver sandals. I walk over to the full length mirror to see the entire outfit. The dress really brings out the blue in my eyes. I go to my vanity to do my make up and hair. I put on my lip gloss and walk out of my room.

Abby stares at me and says. "Wow I knew that dress would suit you but damn I did not expect you to look that good."

I look down at the dress and ask."Do you think it is too much?"

"No never you look great."

I really look at Abby and see her new black dress. "You look great to."

Abby does a little turn to show off her dress and we both laugh at her sillyness. The next moment, I am startled by a rather loud knock on the door.

"Who is at the door?" I ask Abby.

"How should I know? But can you go see who it is? I forgot something in my room."

"Sure."

I walk over to the door and open it just as Drake was about to knock again. Drake stares at me for a moment before he shakes his head and says. "You look beautiful."

I blush and look down at the ground. "Thank you."

"I hope you don't mind but Aiden suggested that we should all go to the party together."

"Yes I would like to either go into your apartment or go to the party rather than stand in the hallway all night." Aiden adds from behind Drake.

I open the door and gesture for them to enter and say. "I am sorry Aiden I did not even see you."

Aiden smirks at me and says. "Yeah I noticed. You were too preoccupied by someone else."

Drake shoves Aiden and they both start to laugh. I close the door behind them and say. "Abby should be done any minute now."

Aiden chuckles and says. "I wouldn't hold my breath."

Just as Abby walks out of her room and glares at him. "I am done and ready to go and no one told you to come get us. This was your bright idea from what I heard."

We all head out of the apartment and drive down to the beach where the party will be.

"Do you know why there is a party at the beach tonight?" Aiden asks me.

"Because the people in Cape Point really like to party?" I say in a questioning tone.

"Well yes, but also because it is the Blue Super Moon or the Sturgeon Moon tonight. It means the moon is really close to the earth and the next one will be in March 2037." Aiden says excitedly.
