Chapter 77

While on our way towards Nagoya, what Lyn told me was actually true, she literally stops to fight every monster that we came across, and while she does that, I ate my snack and ice cream, to pass the time.

I find it cute after she slew the monster that caught her attention, every time she is finished. Well each time she says sorry, I assure her that it was okay, but knowing her she probably will not set that aside and apologize to me still.

I find it cute... really and despite the wait that she is making me to do, I am enjoying the moment that we are having together right now, despite of it being virtually, I am really glad.

With voice chat on, I can lister to her voice all day, and with just that, it is more than enough for me.

After a long while of walk and slaying monsters, we finally reached Nagoya! I can’t believe it that we managed to reach this very far location despite of the uncountable detours that she made.

The developers really put all of their efforts in making this place as we are greeted by its lively surroundings immediately. I saw that there are many players right now, discovering the area, running around with their playmates.

The theme song suddenly changes when I stepped inside the vicinity of Nagoya. It’s a calming Japanese instrumental theme, that really goes well with the beauty of this place. I gotta admit that this place is aesthetically pleasing.

It is the trend right now towards my peers, as they like things with aesthetic feel, well I only like what pleases my eye, and everything that is going in trend, for me it is very overrated but never mind. We had our choices.

“Welcome!” a character dialogue which is probably one of the NPC’s (Non Player Character) that is programmed to talk with new players that reached this place. At first, I was surprised. I clicked next, next, next, reading all the dialogue because I don’t want to miss out on the lore.

The NPC named Kazuya, just welcomed me in this place and just told me its brief background, which is the capital of something that I don’t remember pretty well, and after that in my mini map side quest indicators pops out which means that I can go there if I wanted to know the story behind this place.

“You done?” Lyn asks me in the voice call, I blinked multiple times and I realized that I am taking too long reading the dialogues.

“Almost,” I told her and quickly read the texts. After that I clicked the finish button and I can move my character again.

In this game there are players that are very much into the game’s lore and there are also that only cares for the gameplay. That’s pretty much it, but I am one of those players that cares for the lore of a game, and Lyn seems to be a complete opposite of me.

“Done,” I told her.

“Great!” she said to me and her avatar started to run and I with no choice, decided to follow her on the place that she said that she wants to go. Then we reached a player gathering on the center with their partners on.

I am not sure if these are players or NPCs.

“Come over here,” Lyn told me and I looked around me and immediately saw Lyn in the middle of these people. I don’t know what they are doing but it seems like to me that they are doing some kind of dance which I am not entirely sure off.

“Coming!” I told her as I started running towards her and when I reached her location an indicator showed up.

“PRESS E TO DANCE WITH YOUR PARTNER.”

So as the game said I pressed E and Lyn too, and then the screen blacks out and when the display showed again to me, it played a cutscene where both of us are dancing with this mesmerizing music that is playing on the background.

I know! That this is a game, but inside me, there are some sort of feelings that I cannot understand that I am starting to feel again.

“In love,” Kuro’s voice echoed in my mind and I pulled my hair harshly denying that this is love, there is no way that I am falling in love with a play mate that I have not been with personally, well, I have, but one time only, and there are no other things that happened after that.

Just saw her on my social media, and then added her, and then we started to play together, and there is no such thing that will make me fall for her. There is no such thing.

“Hey, we are finished,” I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Lyn voice.

“Oh,” I reacted when I saw that my character is just standing and doing nothing, once again I was very distracted with my thoughts and I am ashamed to think of that.

“You wanna do it again?” she asks, I want to say yes but I am hesitant. “It seems like it,” she added and that put my self confidence down deep.

“Just checked on something, sorry,” I excused.

“Is that so,” she said.

“Yes,” I replied.

“There is this one thing that I wanted to check out,” she said. “Some kind of a booth and I was told that it is very popular right now, want to have experience in it?” she asked.

“Sure, why not,” I accepted her offer and once again, she is the one that leads the way, and I with no choice, just followed her until we reach a church? I thought Lyn said that it is a booth.

“Here we are!” she announced happily and I take a sip on my water. I didn’t know that booths come in churches right now, I wonder what gimmicks they have stored for us. “The marriage booth!” she added.

I sprayed the water inside my mouth and I am fast enough to turn my head aside to spit the water on the floor and not on my computer that may cause malfunction if water touches it.

I can’t help it! I am very surprised to know that Lyn wanted to experience the marriage booth, which is the most unexpected thing for her to have interest on. So far, what I know that likes fighting and some other kinds of boyish stuffs that makes me think that she is brute.

Well, she is stronger than me and there is nothing wrong if I think of it that way, right? I am not some sort of sexist, just joking around haha.

“I don’t know that you wanted to get married,” I uttered.

“What!?” she exclaimed and I am very surprised that those words once again came out from my mouth. I slapped my lips softly and inside my mind I am scolding it for saying such things that Lyn hard. I know that I am calling her Nora, but I decided to call her Lyn as it is much easier to say. “No,” she denied. “This is just a game dummy,” she said and then laughs it off, and right now I am very ashamed of my words and it just feels awkward towards her right now.

I am not so sure what to say to her anymore and this time around I just decided to zip my lips.

“Sorry shouldn’t have say that,” I apologized.

“It’s okay,” she assured me. “Wanna be my partner?” she offered and what right do I have to reject her offer? None.

“Will gladly do so,” I accepted her offer and we came inside the church and then, the same thing happened cutscenes but with our outfits changed, with a black tuxedo for me and white wedding gown for Lyn and yet the strange feeling that I feel inside me became intense and as far as I am concerned. I really can’t understand what I am feeling right now.

I wanted to end this because I am so confused right now, but deep inside me I wanted this to keep going on for forever.

My whole mind is contradictory.

I don’t know what to follow anymore, I don’t know what to think.

“Oh this is sweet,” Lyn remarked as we watches the cutscene. The whole time, Lyn is just admiring the perfection of the cutscene that we are watching right now.

“Yeah,” I just replied to her.

After all of it, it lasted for ten minutes straight, and I did not expect that a cutscene for a game will be that long, but Lyn enjoyed it, as the music backgrounds are very romantic in a sense, and the whole time I am very confused with my thoughts.

Whatever is the case I really hope that I find the meaning of these feelings.

After all of it, nothing happened special anymore, and she just invited me to complete some side quests in this area with her, which I did not reject and accepted.

The whole time she is just slaying monsters that we encounter again, which delays the completion of the mission which is okay for me.

It’s plain and boring, what she is doing right now. But she herself, is making the atmosphere livelier and more enjoyable as I slay some monsters with her.

After hours of playing with her, we decided to call it a day, as we have our own business to attend to.

“I enjoyed the whole time thank you!” she told me and that gave warmth to my heart that she enjoyed my company.

“Likewise!” I replied.

“So till next time,” she said. “GOODBYE!” she happily said.

“Bye,” I said then she ended the call. I was left staring at my monitor barely seeing my reflection and I can see myself smiling.
