Chapter 12 : Running a Pack

    I went to bed for the first time in what felt like forever without Ryland. It felt colder and the bed felt way to big. I lay staring at the ceiling watching the ceiling fan spin around and around. It wasnt long till I finally fell asleep and had dreams of how terrible running this pack was going to be.

    -**BEEP** **BEEP** I roll over and look at my alarm, 5:00. "Agh." I throw the blankets back and crawl out of bed. I got up so early so I could call my mom before I got busy with the pack. I grab my phone and look at the screen. I have 3 messages from Ryland saying he made it, he loved me and goodnight and the last one was him wishing me luck today. I quickly send him a message saying good morning then start to dial my moms number. I know she will be still be asleep but my dad should be gone so thats what im banking on. I press the call button and wait wait for her to answer. "Hello?" I hear her sleepy voice answer and tears come to my eyes. "Momma?" "LILLY?! Oh dear how are you?! Ive missed you so much! Im so sorry baby! Im so so so sorry!" I sigh listening to her. "Im good momma, im good, and I forgive you but please dont do it again." I can hear her sniffling. "Momma please dont cry thats not why I called I just wanted to talk, I miss you." "Oh baby I miss you to! How is the great alpha treating you?" I walk around the room and start picking out my clothes for the day. "Its great, he is great. He actually left and im to run the pack today on my own." I say while setting my jeans out. "Oh thats great honey, where is he off to?" I dont reply right away, noticing that my moms tone had changed and that could only mean my father was there. I steel my voice before I answer. "Im not sure mom but I must go. Luna duties and all." I can hear in the background my father talking and then he takes her phone. "Lilly How kind of you to call. Where is your alpha?" "Bye, love you mom." I say and hang up. I have nothing to say to my father. I set my phone on the bed get dressed.

    After I dressed I grab my phone and head to the kitchen. I cook myself some quick breakfast, before my day starts then I head to my office. As soon as my butt hit my chair my phone rings. "Hello?" "Luna." "Oh hello Derek. What can I do for you?" "Im heading to your office now with a wolf that wishes to speak to you." "Okay ill see you in a minute." I take a deep breath and lean back in the chair.  It isnt long before A soft knock sounds at the door and Derek and another large man walks in. "Lilly this is Ty, he has some issues he wants to disscus with you." I nod then look to Ty. I stand and reach my hand out which he looks at with disgust. "I asked to speak to the alpha." He spits out, and I pull my hand back and sit it back on my desk. So this is the start to my running the pack. I take a deep breath and reply. "Well what you have to say must not be that important then." "Its important for the aplha to hear not his newest toy!" He spits out and I have to take a deep breath to control my anger. "Let me tell you something. Im your alphas mate, your luna, and you WILL give me the respect I deserve. If you arent then you can leave I wont be disrespected." I say and sit back in my chair. He looks to Derek and Derek nods to him. "Well I came to tell the alpha about a group of young wolves who are vandalizing houses and stealing things, there is also talk of trying to challenge Ryland for the alpha title by one names Erik." He says and I nod. "Interesting." I say and look to Derek. "Why dont you go get another enforcer so we can go have a chat with these wolves. He nods and leaves the room. I turn to Ty. "You may leave now Ty, thank you for the information." He nods and starts to walk out then stops. "Luna im sorry for the disrespect. But you must understand our alpha has had a few prospects for a luna but none was to serious. I had to know you was the real deal."  I nod and he leaves. As soon as he walks out Derek walks in with one of the enforcers I remember seeing from the other night. "Luna this is Jackson, Jackson this is luna Lilly." I look to Jackson and he has a 100 watt smile on his face and its contagious. "Luna since the alpha is gone I would be more than happy to come stay in your bed with you and keep you warm." I laugh a little at this and it makes me realize how much I miss Ryland. "I will keep you in mind." I say as I walk out of the room with the two men in tow. 

    I follow Derek to a house that looks like its about to fall in but I can hear music coming from it. I watch Derek go to the door and knock and a large man answered some words were said and before I knew it 5 large guys were standing in front of me. "Hello gentlemen! My name is Lilly but you can call me Luna! It was brought to my attention that you have his disturbing some people in the pack and just causing trouble. It also has been brought to my attention that one of you wants to compete with the alpha for the title." None of the guys meet my eyes but one and I know he is the ring leader here. "And whats your name?" "Erik." He replies with a smile that just makes me feel nasty. "Ah, yes youre the one who wants the title! Well Ill make sure to let the alpha know about your challenge. and as for the rest of you. I know Alpha Ryland leads with loose reighns but I do not and I wont stand for nonsense." If I hear of you again for any reason I will persionaly deal with your punishment." I say and smile sweetly but let some of my alpha power show through my eyes and they all step back. They all nod and I go to leave and I can feel Eriks eyes on me as we leave and I turn around to see a creepy smile on his face. Once back to the pack house I have meetings all day with people mad about little things like messy neighbors yards, and to loud music. 

    Once all the meetings were over I took dinner in my room and texted Ryland goodnight. I hadnt heaard from him all night, but I figured he was busy. I dress in my PJ's and lay down in the cold bed and something Ty said to me comes rushing to the front of my mind about Ry having many toys. I am going to have to get to the bottom of this, I dont need more Sophias running around. It took me all of 5 minutes to finally fall asleep and dream of my alpha with different women drapped across his arm.
