CHAPTER 13: The Alphas return

    The next couple days dragged by. I sat in my office dealing with petty things between everyone. I hadnt heard from any of the guys in the group I had confronted but I still kept my ears peeled in caseI could hear of any rumors that were going around, but I didnt hear anything. My mom had called me several times but it wasnt really her, it was my father pushing her to call looking for information so I couldnt really talk to her but it was nice just to hear her voice. I lean back in my chair and stare out the window. Its a sunny day with hardly no clouds it wont be long before it starts getting cold. It isnt long before I hear a soft knock on my door and I turn around to see Jackson standing in the doorway. "My Luna I come to inform you that the alpha is almost home and wishes to see you waiting for him outside when he gets home." My eyes go wide and I look at him. "Ryland wants me waiting outside for him?" I question in shock. Thats a weird request, but I just shake my head and stand to go walk outside. I walk out of my office and run right into Jackson. "I figured I could walk you." He says and I smile at him. Jackson has a amazing persionality and is fun ad goofy. He always keeps a smile on my face when im around him and I like that. "Sounds good to me, hows your day going to far?" I ask so that there isnt a silance. "It isnt bad, but its been a long day prepairing for the alpha to return." He says keeping his eyes stright ahead, he seems tense. "I see, so why didnt you go with the alpha youre a high ranked member of the pack why didnt you go with them?" I ask seeing this as a good time to ask questions. "I was tasked to keep an eye on you." He looked down at me and smiled. "Although Im not to sure was I was suppose to watch you for seems you can take care of yourself." He gives a small laugh. "So Ryland asked you to stay behind to keep a eye on me huh?" It ticks me off a bit but I cant take it out on Jackson thats a conversation for my alpha. "Yeah, I dont mind though its a whole lot better job than going out and killing." I act like I dont hear the last part and ask another question. "So whats Ryland like as a alpha?" Jackson looks down at me. "Ryland is a good alpha." He says a little forceful, and I have to back peddle a little. "Im not saying that he isnt I just wanted to ask someone who isnt him." I say to try and ease him into talking to me. "Well he is a good alpha, he isnt to easy but he isnt to hard either. He took me and my sister in when we had no where else to go and ill always be loyal to him. He can be rough when it comes to raids though, he is ruthless....well im not sure id say its him but more of his wolf. No mercy ya know? its hard for the other wolves but you get used to it.." He trails off and I just nod. I knew all this from stories of Ryland. "Jackson please be honest with me when I ask you this. Does the alpha usually have a bunch of women around?" He looks over at me then starts twisting his hands together. "I feel thats a chat you should have with him..." "Yeah, maybe but im having it with you." I keep my eyes on him and he sighs. "Alpha Ryland is a very powerful alpha and the women love him.." I nod while he talks. "He has changed since he met you, he seems nicer. but he was a very hard and cold man." He looked at me from the corner of his eye to gage my reaction. "He took many women to his room, he never kept them around long but there was many." I feel my wolf growl and i try and push her down. I cant control what Ryland did befor i was here and I cant hold it against him but it still hurt.

    Once we get to the door I see a line of black SUVs coming up the driveway. I take a deep breath and stand behind all of the other wolves that are also waiting. I look over them and see several women there and I cant stop my mind from wondering if Ryland had been with any of them. I try to clear my head once the vehicles stop and the men come pouring out. Some of the women run to the men and wrap their arms around them and I smile. After all the cars are empty there still is no sign of Ryland and I look around. It isnt long before another one comes up and I see Ryland jump out but before I can he yells, "Where is the god damn healer?!" A older woman I had met earlier that week went running over to him and she starts working wounded wolf Ryland just oulled from the car. I dont want to crowd him so I stay back but that doesnt stop a small girl with black hair from running to him. It looks like shes crying and I cant help but just stand back and watch. "Oh Ryland! Are you okay?! I didnt know when you was going to come home and Derek wouldnt tell me anything!" She through herself into his arms and he caught her. "Im fine Amber." He replies and I can see a hint of softness in his eyes, a sharp pain shoots through my chest but I dont move. "I missed you." She says and I see her snuggle into his chest. My wolf rises up and a growl escapes me. Everyones eyes turn to me and I feel a hand on my shoulder and its Jackson. "Get your hand off of me." I growl and then turn to Ryland whos eyes are now on me. "Im glad youre back Alpha. Listen here your other whores may be fine sharing but I am not and I wont stand here and be disrespected in front of your pack while you greet, what was your name again? Amber?" I snarl and turn away. I take several steps then turn around, all the eyes are still on me. "Jackson would you care to  go for a run with me since you was tasked to watch me? This will give your alpha time to catch up with Amber." I turn around and start to take my shirt off when a hand grabs my arm and yanks me. I turn around and swing and land a punch right to whoever grabbed mes jaw. "Dont f*****g TOUCH ME!" I yell and see its Ryland and his eyes are staring right into mine. "Whats your problem? I just got home and this is how you act?!" "Let me tell you Ryland I ran your pack while you was gone, I took care of all the issues that came up and THEN I find out you left a babysitter for me and I ALSO find out youre a man w***e! Then I try and get over it to welcom my mate back and Amber beat me to it!"  I jerk my arm away from him. "Lilly stop." I hear Ryland call out but I ignore him and just shift, not caring about the rest of my clothes as they rip. I dont give it a second thought as my white paws hit the ground and im off running through the woods with another wolf right on my heels. I know its Jackson because I can still hear him cussing as I run. I dont slow down until I make it to a pond surrounded by trees and I stop and sit and look at the moon. What have I gotten myself into?
