It's not magic, its evolution...

Elleck and her partner, Embr, were sent to Earth on a mission, to extinguish a zombie-like dark substance from the Earthling Humans. The virus causes one who has it to commit terrible crimes (murder, r**e, theft, etc) for that moment of adrenaline fuels the dark matter until it consumes the user completely. That was the only thing they had to do... until he walked into her life. Elleck was told of "fated beings" in training but she wasn't going to be fated to a weak, Earth human. Her fated is destined to be the death of her and she will do whatever it takes to avoid that.

Chapter 1
Subs Chapter 1 Nova Scotia, CANADA 1959 The night was cold. Not a single cloud in the sky. A man in his early 30s sighed heavily as he entered a bar. His face and clothes were covered in coal soot from a long days work under ground. He ordered his usual shot and downed it before motioning for another. He drank the other and slapped currency on the table before exiting the bar. The man walked his usual route to his house, unknowingly being followed by a black ooze. Once he entered the house, the ooze followed close behind. The man turned on the radio and listened to the latest Canadian news. He removed his jacket, setting it on the rack before sitting on the couch. The black ooze slithered up the back of the couch towards the man. The local enjoyed one last news cast before the ooze slugged into the man’s ear. He let out a scream! “GRAAAAHH!” He thrashed around, gripping his head. Knocking over a living room lamp as he fell to the floor. The room became silent. After a moment, sounds could be heard upstairs. “Robert?” Said a woman softly. The man stood and walked casually into the kitchen as if nothing happened. “I’m in the kitchen.” His voice monotone. “What was that?” Robert’s wife asked as she walked downstairs and towards the kitchen. “It sounded like glass bre…” Her voice cut off when her husband shoved a knife into her chest. She stared wide eyed at him, her eyes full of question and betrayal before the light from them drained and her body collapsed. The man didn’t say a word nor show any feeling as he stared at his wife’s corpse soaking in a pool of blood. Before he could dispose of the body… Knock Knock Knock Without moving, Robert asked in a calming voice, “who is it?” “We heard a loud commotion,” a female Canadian accent came through the closed door, “and wanna be sure everything’s ok.” Robert walked to the door and opened it. “Everything is-" The woman outside put both hands on both sides of Robert’s head before a flash of pink light sank into the man’s skull. He screamed in agony and fell to the floor with a thud, smoke escaping from his ears as the women in dark clothing walked away into the night. Washington, USA Present Day ELLECK We were walking through the streets of near downtown Seattle. Our sensors indicated dark matter nearby and my partner, Embrite, and I are on our way to the location. Wireless headphones in my ears, Shinedown could be heard slightly through my Samsung buds. "Maybe he's gotta black soul Gotta black soul Gotta bla-ack soul..." My brown hair flowed in the wind as we neared our destination. I suddenly felt my shoulder pull back. I turned to Embr and took out an earbud. “What?” “Slow down!” I groaned as I turned around and kept walking. “I’m not stopping every time you see something shiny in the window.” “But this one was REALLY shiny! Reminded me of home!” “Everything here reminds you of home.” “I know, right! Aside from the grass.” “Will you shut it? We’re almost there.” “Can we go to the Space Needle after this?” “No.” “The Big Wheel?” “Big no.” “Can we at least walk through Pike Place Market? Why not explore what little time we have left on this planet. Cherish the moments.” “I just wanna get this over with.” “You have been saying that every day for the past 60 Earth years.” “Yeah and I meant it. I hate this planet. Earth Humans are way too weak and I’m not using my strength to it’s full potential here. I barely use any energy at all. The quicker we get this done, the quicker we move on to the next planet. Hopefully one with more of a challenge.” “I thought you liked killing homeless people.” “When they’re infected, yes, but a majority of the infected are successful people. The challenge in that is getting to those ones.” “Some are becoming geniuses.” “Yeah, don’t remind me.” Elleck checked a device in the pocket of her cargo capris. The screen displayed green and red lights. A few red lights were blinking quickly. “We’re almost there.” “Finally! Let’s hurry though. I need my daily dose of lights and noise!” Elleck rolled her eyes. 'Wasn't she the one distracted not even 5 minutes ago?' Embr's strawberry blond hair bounced as she ran ahead of me. “H-hey!” Elleck raced after her. “Hold it! We need a strategy!” “Live a little, E!” I would be a tad bit afraid of my partner causing a scene… but we are in Seattle. As we came upon one of I-5s overpasses where a group of homeless people were gathered around a small tent under some tarps, Embr and I held a hand on our faces to put on our new faces. Our identities always hidden to the public so nearby cameras and innocent bystanders wouldn’t recognize us at the scene. Shopping carts full of old and damaged used products, empty bottles and old news paper within arms length of them. There were at least 4. Nothing we couldn’t handle blindfolded. I pulled the sensor slightly out of my pocket to verify and smirked. 'Show time.' The group looked up at us with a look of hope glinting. “Hi there!” Embr said in delight. “What do you want?” One of them asked. “We want what’s in there.” I said, looking at their heads as my energy started pulsing through my veins. The group started backing away in fear. “We'll make it quick.” Embr said as sparks started flaring while she cracked her knuckles. I lunged at one of the females, hands pinned to both sides of her head. A flash of pink light went into her ears. She let out a scream before passing out in terror. I got off the ground as Embr took down the other female. While my back was turned, the male in the group came up behind me with a metal baseball bat. He struck me square in the shoulders but metal on metal contact caused his hands to tremble violently and drop the back. I slowly turned to him, my eyes lightning pink in anger. “Did you try to hurt me?” “Dude, I think he did.” Embr added and she appeared next to me. I let out a slight chuckle. “Jokes on you,” I pinned him to the overpass pillar, “my bones are made of metal… unlike yours.” I shoved my fist through his skull and he died on contact. I dropped the lifeless body and looked at my blood soaked hand. In my peripheral vision, I saw a small crack where my fist made contact with the stone pillar. “Whoops… oh well.” I slipped a glove over my hand to hide the blood. “Time to go.” Embr said as she pushed a few buttons on her wrist. Her body suddenly started evaporating into thin air before she was completely gone. I soon followed suit. Our bodies reappeared in the center of a metal room in our military space ship. Embr pressed a few buttons on her wrist before the ceiling opened. Hisssss Mist started spraying down upon us as we started undressing. We opened a bin on one of the walls and put our dirty clothes in them as the purified water disinfected our naked bodies. I kept my eyes closed. 'Creation, that stings." Once the sanitation was over, Embr inhaled before heat started radiating from her body, drying us off. The doors opened and we walked out, grabbing a clean pair of clothes on the outside shelf on the way out. “Have you thought about what I said?” Embr asked me as she turned into her room. I turned into the one next to hers, which was mine. “You say a lot of things.” I replied while pulling my clean shirt over my head. “To explore the town!” I froze. 'Well... she's waiting for a reply...' I pretended to ignore her by pushing a button on my wrist and loud heavy metal rock filled the room. “Don’t ignore me, b***h!” I could hear her scream over my music so I turned it up louder. I started to sing a long before the music cut off. I glared at her. “What the f**k?!” “Elleck! You need a life outside of work!” Embr screamed in my face, fire a flame in her eyes. Embr and I may be the same in strength but sometimes the looks she gives me could have Creation running for the hills. I gulped. “D-dude…” Embr sighed. “I’m sorry he ruined your social life but times changed. You are stronger than you were then and if he ever showed up anywhere near you, I’m 100% confident you could kill him with one thunderbolt.” I couldn’t help but crack a small smile. I sigjed in defeat. “Okay…” “Yes! I’ve got the perfect outfit for you too!” “W-wait what? Outfit?!” ~●♡●~
