Through Their Eyes

Chapter Four

I ran to my room with the dress and carefully and stood there admiring the dress. I was also trying to figure out what shoes will go with it. I ran into my closet and found the perfect shoes that would go with my dress. I finally find my white court shoes with a chunky heel and a round toe. I got my underwear and placed them beside the dress. I ran my hands once more before I ran into the bathroom to get a quick shower. After I had showered I sat down in front of my vanity table and proceeded to dry my hair and trying to figure out whether I wanted to have all of my hair up or leave some of it if not all. I finally on a high ponytail with the ends of my hair in curls. I pulled some pieces of my hair on each side of my face. After I was happy with the way my hair was finally behaving itself, I pulled out my make up bag and started on getting that just right. I decided to use my palette of blues that would compliment my dress and my eyes. I wanted to look innocent but hot at the same time. I applied the light blue eyeshadow with a slightly darker blue at the bottom of each lid. I then got my blue eyeliner and made a winged looked for my eyes. After I had finished with my eyes and love how the blue of the make-up makes my eyes pop. I had great clear skin so I don’t have to wear foundation or anything so I grabbed the final thing to make my look complete and that was my lip gloss which made my lips look plumper. After I had finished my hair and make-up I turned to my bed and after standing for another couple of minutes staring at my dress again, I pulled my underwear on and pulled on the nude colour tights before I finally put the dress on. I loved the way the dress felt as I kept twirling in front of my mirror. The lace sat perfectly against my neck and made my tan look better in contrast to the white of the lace. As I was admiring myself in the mirror I hadn’t noticed that my mum was standing at the door and smiling. “You look beautiful, Alex,” my mum said as I just stood there grinning because I know that I looked really pretty. “Thanks, mum, You look amazing, has dad seen you yet?” I asked as I gazed at my mother. Her hair was straight and she had left it down. Her dress was shimmering red silk as it hugged all the right places. It came to just below the knees and her shoulders were bare but she had a silver shawl wrapped around her lower arms. The silver shoes she wore were shinning as they had small diamonds covering the shoes. “No, your father had to leave earlier to check on the other members that are getting welcomed tonight. We are to meet him at the front door in about 10 minutes, so are you almost ready?” my mum looked at me. “I just need to put my shoes and grab my phone then I will be done,” I answered as I slipped my feet into the white shoes and with one more check I ran down the stairs to meet my mum before we head over to the pack-house. My mum linked her arm with mine as we walked towards the pack-house, I was suddenly really nervous as I knew that Alpha Ethan would be there and I don’t know but I had a small feeling that he was an important person in my life, apart from my Alpha. I couldn’t wait to see him and my mum must’ve felt me get nervous as she squeezed my arm and whispered in my ear. “You’ll be fine, honey, we’re all in this together.” “I know mum, I just have a weird feeling something will happen tonight,” I whispered as I saw my fellow pack members also heading to the pack-house. I noticed that my best friend Faith from my old pack was walking towards the pack-house with her parents as well. I noticed the dress she was wearing and it looked like something that came from the catwalk. It was a knee-length peach coloured dress with spaghetti straps. She had her golden coloured hair was piled up on her head and very neutral make up that really brought out her pale skin. I tried to get her attention but she was concentrating on where she was walking and she didn’t see me. I will grab her when we get into the pack-house and catch up with her. We walked up to the pack-house and I couldn’t help but admire the hugeness of it. It was more of a mansion than a normal house. There seemed to be around about 3 floors judging by what I could see from the outside. The front door was opened so that the pack members could just walk in and through to the back garden. As I walked up the stairs I felt the breath leave me when I saw the inside of the house. There was a grand staircase that curved to the right with oak bannisters on the left side. The layout was the same but around the double even triple size of my sitting room and kitchen. It was even bigger than the pack-house from our old territory. “Alexandra, Can you believe the size of this place?” Faith asked me. I was so into my thoughts that I hadn’t noticed that she had come over and was standing beside me. “It’s amazing,” Wonder how many people live here?” I asked still looking around. “Never mind the house Alex, Have you met the hot Alpha yet? I was drooling when I saw him,” Faith whispered making me blush. “Meh, he’s OK I guess,” not wanting to let on that I found Alpha Ethan extremely hot. I felt my cheeks heat up just by thinking about our new Alpha. “Bet you anything that he’s taken already, Faith.” “You don’t know that I may be in with a chance,” Faith said as she linked her arm through mine. “Or you might be. By the way that dress is gorgeous.” “I don’t think so, you’re much prettier than me, any man would be stupid if they didn’t get you,” I said nudging into her side. “My mum gave me this dress earlier as I was complaining that I didn’t have anything to wear. It’s the dress my mum wore the night when she found out that my dad was her mate. She was keeping it for my birthday but gave me it tonight instead.” “It totally suits you, Alex,” Faith said smiling at me. We were in the back garden and I was standing with the other members of my pack waiting to be properly welcomed into the new pack. I was looking towards the stage when a door opened from the side of the house and I swear I stopped breathing as I saw Alpha Ethan walk out of the door and head to the stage. I took in every inch of him as he walked with authority. My mouth dropped when he walked close to where I was standing and my eyes caught his for a brief second as he winked at me. I took in what he was wearing as he was wearing a pair of black dress trousers with a formal white dress shirt. He had put a tie on and even that looked sexy on him. Wait did I just think a tie on a guy was sexy? Anyway, his tie was a blue that I think matched my eyes but I wasn’t sure. I looked around at his pack as I needed a quick distraction and noticed a she-wolf stand front and centre in front of the stage. I mean she was like a fake Barbie doll with her blonde hair curled and fell down her back. Her dress was so short if she bent over I’m sure it would have ripped it was that tight. It was bright red which matched her bright red lipstick that shone out. “She looks fake,” Faith said as I tried to hide a giggle making this girl shoot daggers towards us. “I think those boobs are going to explode out of her dress as well.” “She better not do any jumping then, or we are all getting a show,” I whispered to Faith and giggled even more. “She must be after the Alpha’s attention if she’s wearing that,” Faith said and smiled towards where the girl was staring at us from. “Shh, we don’t want trouble as we’re still new and we need to make their pack comfortable with us,” I said slightly nudging her as I noticed the Alpha stand up and walk to the centre of the stage. “Can I have everyone’s attention, please. As all of you know we have had a few families join our pack over the last week. Tonight we welcome them into our pack officially,” Alpha Ethan turned towards our group and continued his speech, “I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the Golden Moon pack. I would like each new family to come up and pledge their loyalty to and to the pack. We will start with the Parker family.” “Wish me luck, Alex,” Faith gulped as she started towards the stage with her parents. They walked onto the stage and when Ethan asked them if they pledged their loyalty and to recognise him as their Alpha and loyalty to his pack. They straightened and said at the same time, “I do.” As they walked off the other side of the stage and mingled in with their new pack I saw Faith and she gave me a thumbs up and smiled. I hadn’t noticed the other families going up and doing the same as Faith and her family until I heard the Alpha call my family. I stood like a statue as I noticed my family were the only ones left. “Now we will have the last family to come up, can the Bates family come up, please? We have Warrior Sebastian with his wife Linda and their daughter...Alexandra,” Ethan said looking straight at me. “Paige, did he just pause before saying my name? Why would he do that? He didn’t do that with everyone else’s names.” I inwardly asked my wolf. “He may have forgotten your name,” Paige laughed before going back to where she was. “Alex, we need to start going up to the stage now,” my dad urged as everyone was looking my way. I suddenly realised that my parents had started to walk and turned to see me just standing there. I blushed as I started walking up to the stage between my parents as we walked towards the hunky Alpha. I gulped as I looked at Ethan and found myself looking right into his eyes. I didn’t hear what he was saying as I was lost when I looked at him. “Alex, he’s stopped talking and waiting on us to pledge loyalty to him and his pack,” Paige whispered in my head. “Sorry, I do,” I say quietly suddenly felt ashamed that I was caught staring at him. I looked at him and saw the humour in his eyes as I walked past him to walk down the other side of the stage. I felt a lot of people congratulate me and welcome me to the pack. As soon as I accepted the things we did to be officially in the pack I felt this surge of all the pack members. I looked back towards the stage and found that the Alpha was staring at me. Afterwards, when the party was in full swing I was standing next to Faith talking about how it felt and who was cute and who wasn’t when I saw the Alpha talking to a couple of guys and that’s when I notice that the fake bimbo that I had seen earlier was hanging off of Ethan’s arm. She was trying to get his attention but he kept ignoring her and moving her arm away. Occasionally I noticed that he would look over towards my direction. I pretended not to notice as let’s face it, I was doing the same. The blonde must’ve noticed where he was looking as she pouted before she went to get a drink. “It’s amazing Alex, I hope my mate is here,” Faith was saying wishfully beside me. I was trying to pay attention but something kept me looking towards the Alpha. I swear he had somehow got closer to where we were standing. “Alex, I think the Alpha wants to come over and talk to you, he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off you all night,” Faith laughed. “It could be you he’s interested in,” I said feeling my heart drop into my stomach just by thinking he wouldn’t be interested in me. “He will probably just want to welcome us again.” Ethan had just finished talking to one of his pack members and was indeed towards to where I was standing but before he got to us, the blonde woman, who I found out was called Venus, walk and stand right in front of me. “Why the hell are you looking at my mate like you want him? “ Venus said pointing a perfectly manicured red nail in my face. “Since your new, I will only tell you this once, mutt, the Alpha is mine and you are to stay clear, you got it?” “Really then why didn’t he tell us you were his mate when he was welcoming us to the pack? Plus, I’m sure he wouldn’t someone that is fake.” I answered suddenly feeling anger that she was accusing me of taking what’s hers. I was about to leave when she took her drink and poured the entire contents onto my dress staining the white lace. I felt the anger get to the surface and before I knew it I slapped the grin that had appeared on her face right off. She fell holding her cheek as it was turning an angry red, “You b***h,” Venus screamed trying to get back up. I wasn’t listening to her screaming and cursing me. I looked around and saw that a lot of the members had witnessed me slapping Venus. I saw my parents standing there with a grin on my dad’s face and shock on my mum’s face. I turned and walked out of the back garden holding the tears back as I wasn’t going to cry in front of everyone. As soon as I got to my front door I sat on the stairs and let the tears fall. I brought my knees up to my chest and rested my head on my knees. I was sobbing until I heard someone walk towards me and stop right in front of me. I didn’t look up as I just wanted them to leave me alone to mourn my beautiful dress and to nurse my pride. I wasn’t paying attention when I felt the person sit down beside me and cleared their throat. “Alexandra, are you OK?” the voice said which made Paige take notice to who it was. I looked up to find that Alpha Ethan was standing in front of me. I tried to stop my tears as I raised my head and found myself looking into a pair of green eyes that I was staring at earlier. I tried to dry my eyes as I felt his arm go around me and pull me close as I started crying again. “What’s wrong?” Ethan asked as he sat holding me. Somehow I felt calmer with him being so close to him. I don’t know why but he made me feel safe and warm. “Maybe, he is our mate?” Paige said knowingly as she purred in my head. “Don’t be stupid, he’s with that b***h remember,” I snap back which made Paige retreat. “Do you want to tell me what’s wrong?” Ethan asked again. I had forgotten he was there for a minute. “That was some slap you gave Venus by the way.” “I’m sorry Alpha, I promise I won’t hurt your Luna again. I got mad as she ruined the dress that my mum gave me to wear tonight. I only got it today as my mum was keeping it for my birthday but she gave me it early.” I had started crying again with fear that she will get him to kick me and my family out of the pack. “Venus isn’t my mate,” Ethan laughed as he squeezed me tighter. “ I have met my mate but I don’t think she knows that’s she’s for me yet.” I look up at him and find him staring at me with that weird look he had in his eyes again. Just like the one he had when we first met.
